In a suspender fastening comprising a flexible strap 11 attached to a body member 10 and carrying a button 13 for engagement with a button opening 16, 17 on the body and in which the body also has two parallel slots 18, 19 for the strap, adjacent the button opening, the two strap slots 18, 19 being interconnected by a gap 23 which is relatively short in comparison with the length of the slots, the strap is attached to the body by forcing part of the strap through the gap preferably by a tool 24 positioned over the gap.
