Abstract

1,011,753. Zoom lenses. R. RODENSTOCK, [trading as OPTISCHE WERKE]. Aug. 3, 1962, No. 30010/62. Heading G2J. The lens comprises a movable divergent assembly 13-16 between to convergent assemblies, the movable assembly being divided into a stronger part 13-15 movable by relatively large amounts and a weaker part 16, having a focal length at least four times that of the stronger part 13-15, movable by relatively small amounts, the stronger part being formed by a single meniscus lens 13 convex to the front and a cemented doublet 14, 15, the focal length of lens 13 being no more than half that of the doublet 14, 15 and the concave surface of lens 13 having the smallest of the five radii of the surfaces of part 13-15, the diaphragm being disposed between lens 16 and the rear convergent assembly. The rear convergent assembly 17-21 may consist of a triplet with a subdivided front member 17, 18 19 and a fixed convergent lens 22 may be provided, the system 10-16 and 22 being removable from the assembly 17-21. Optical data are given for the example shown.
