Abstract
1,010,290. Racks. PALMER SHILE CO. Oct. 14, 1964 [July 24, 1964], No. 41962/64. Heading A4B. A storage rack, e.g. for shelves, pallets &c., comprises spaced upright frames 11 detachably interconnected by bearer beams 12, each frame 11 being formed of disconnectible parts and comprising front and rear posts 15, 16 with spaced brackets 22 secured thereto, spaced cross-bars 30 releasably and closely engaged through central apertures in the brackets 22 with their ends abutting the inner faces 33, 34 of the post webs 17, and diagonal tie rods 37, 38 with threaded ends 39 passed through apertures in a pair of facing tabs 27 on the wings 24 of the brackets 22 to receive nuts 41 which are tightened against the tabs 27. The brackets 22 are welded in their central region, to inturned flanges 19 on the channel section posts 15, 16. In a modification the ends of the tabs 27 are also welded to the flanges 19. The bearers 12 are provided with angular end members 13 having projections which selectively engage slot 21 formed by pressed out portions of the post webs 17.
