Abstract

The stability of an alpha-olefin polymer is improved by adding a fatty acid salt of an ethylene oxide/sorbitan condensation product + water to the polymer on completion of the polymerization. The fatty acid salt may be a laurate, stearate, palmitate, or oleate. The products find application as film or fibre.
