Abstract

A mine roof support bar 11 has a slidably retractable extension 13 which is set against the mine roof by a lever 17 actuated by a face cam 14 forming a rotary wedge. The cam 14 is rotated on the roof bar 11 by a tommy bar, or by striking a boss thereon.
