Abstract

1,008,108. Coating with pre-formed sheets. HENRY HOPE & SONS Ltd. Jan. 1, 1964 [May 9, 1963], No. 18341/63. Heading B6G. A bar or frame member 5, Fig. 1, for a window frame is covered with a sheet or sheets 6, 7 of synthetic resin such as P.V.C. having edge portions formed into flanges 6a, 7a, 6b, 7b secured together by welding along the length of the member by electrodes 8. Ribs 6c, 6d, 7c, 7d are provided to retain capping strips 9, 10. If one sheet is used, the parts 6b, 7b, 6d, 7d and 10 are omitted. In another form, Fig. 3, the frame member 13 is covered by resin sections 14, 15 welded where shown by electrodes 8. In another form, Fig. 4, a hollow member 16 is covered by sections 17, 18 and in a further form, Fig. 5, a hollow member 19 is covered with two similar sections 20. Several sections of P.V.C. may be joined to form two complementary covering frames which are then applied to the two sides of an assembled window frame.
