Abstract

1,006,577. Endless belt conveyers. JONAS WOODHEAD & SONS Ltd. Aug. 11, 1964 [Nov. 6, 1963], No. 43888/63. Heading B8A. An idler roller assembly for a belt conveyer comprises two spring rollers 10, 11 supported for rotation in end to end relationship in a plane transverse the direction of belt travel, the rollers being set to subtend a predetermined angle, e.g. 130 degrees, when unloaded and being so anchored at their inner ends that while vertical movement thereof due to the weight on the belt will be permitted lateral movement of the rollers in the direction of belt travel will be prevented. The rollers 10, 11 are rotatably supported by ball bearings, their outer ends being supported by brackets 14 and their inner ends being provided with link pins 16 which are pivotally connected to a link 18, the latter being pivotally connected to a bracket 19 which is fixed to the base of the assembly.
