[Also in Division B7] A helicopter rotor blade (see Division B7) comprises a plurality of segments 40 (Fig. 5), the intermediate box-shaped sections 44 of which are joined together by bellows 60 (Figs. 11 and 12) having flanges 71, 72 shaped to fit the sections 44, and folds 65, 66 in the upper and lower surface so that bending is permitted about the axis 59 but resisted about the axis 58. A stiffening rib 77 is also fitted. The front and rear faces 47, 48 (Fig. 5) of the sections 44 are secured by pins or bolts at 86, 86<SP>1</SP> (Fig. 15) to front and rear spars (not shown); these pins or bolts allow the segments to remain straight when the spars, whose neutral axes 84 are shown, bend.
