Abstract

1,005,099. Clips. F. T. PRODUCTS Ltd. April 24, 1964 [April 29, 1963], No. 16837/63. Heading E2B. A synthetic plastics fastener 10 adapted to hold a channel-shaped beading or the like 27 having two longitudinal inturned flanges 28, 29 to an apertured support 17, comprises a body 11, means thereon for securing the body to the support and two limbs 12, 13 extending from opposite ends of the body and adapted to engage the beading, each limb being U-shaped so as to comprise two arms 19, 20 and 21, 22 joined by a resilient web, one of the arms 19 and 21 of each limb being joined to the body and the other arm 20 and 22 being resiliently movable towards the one arm in a plane parallel to the support, an arm 20 and 22 of each limb having an undercut edge 26 adapted to hold an inturned longitudinal flange 28 or 29 of the beading 27 against the support 17. As shown, the fastener is attachable to the support by means of a pin 16 which is attached to a bore 14 of the fastener and which breaks away from the latter as the pin is depressed into the body to expand a shank 15 against the underside of the support. In another arrangement, Figs. 5 and 6 (not shown), both arms of each limb are undercut, the arms at one side of the fastener being more acutely undercut than the arms at the other side of the fastener.
