Abstract

The invention comprises compounds of the formula <FORM:1005028/C2/1> (wherein R1 is hydrogen or alkyl; R2 and R3\t are hydrogen, alkyl, halogen or alkoxy; m is zero or an integer from 1 to 5; and Z is a 5- or 6-membered, saturated or unsaturated, nitrogen-containing heterocyclic group, which may carry one or more alkyl substituents, joined to the -(CH2)m-NH-(CH2)n-group through a carbon or nitrogen atom) and acid-addition salts thereof. They may be prepared from the appropriate chloroalkyl-benzodioxan and an amine of the formula H2N(CH2)m-Z. Examples are given, and mono- and di-hydrochlorides of the products are described. The benzodioxan compounds of the invention are stated to possess strong adrenolytic properties and they may be made up into pharmaceutical compositions with suitable carriers.
