Abstract

1,001,899. Warping. SCHUR UND SPULMASCHINENBAU BURGSTADT, V.E.B. June 22,1962, No. 24200/62. Heading D1M. In a yarn accumulator for warping machines, the vertically-movable rollers 15, 16 are interconnected in pairs by endless chains 12. The rollers normally occupy the mid-position as shown for the righthand pair but, when the warping machine is reversed, the yarn let back (from the right of the drawing) is formed into bights by successive displacement of the pairs of rollers. The first bight is formed by the left hand.pair, which are released by disengaging a latch 58 from a nose 57 on the bearing of the roller 15, whereupon the rollers move under the weight of the roller 16, which is heavier than the roller 15. To prevent yarn from being drawn off the creel (to the left of the drawing), a yarn brake 66, consisting of bars 64, 65, drops between fixed bars 60-62. When the rollers reach the end of their travel, a striker (not shown) on the chain 12 releases the next pair of rollers, and so on. On resumption of warping, the pairs of rollers are successively returned (starting from the right) to their mid-position, to pay out the accumulated yarn, by a motor 30 driving the chain wheels 11, one at a time, through clutches which are controlled by strikers on the chains 12; when the left-hand pair reaches its mid-position, a striker 59 depresses a nose 68 to lift the yarn brake 61 clear of the yarns.
