A vehicle-borne structure for supporting a load-carrying boom, e.g. boom of a back hoe shovel excavator, comprises a link member 34 pivotal about a vertical axis 37 in an arcuate frame 9, 17 secured to chassis members 7 7 of the vehicle, a boom 80 pivotal about a vertical axis 50 in the link member 34, and means, e.g. rams 65, 60, chain 67 and sprocket 56 secured to vertical pivot 50 by which boom is mounted in the link member, to cause the link member to swing horizontally when the member is unlocked from the frame 9, 17.
