Abstract

A sheet of material <B>7</B> for securing over a building aperture is provided with at least one zip fastening <B>8</B> to allow access though the aperture without the need for the sheet <B>7</B> to be removed. There may be only one zip fastening <B>8</B> which may be affixed to the sheet <B>7</B> by heat sealing or welding. The sheet <B>7</B> may be a flexible material which may be non-woven and which may be plastic. The sheet <B>7</B> may be of a material that provides a barrier to any or all of dust, moisture and draughts. Preferably the zip fastening <B>8</B> does not extend fully to one edge of the sheet and even more preferably does not extend fully to any edge <B>1</B>, <B>2</B>, <B>3</B>, <B>4</B> of the sheet. This provides gap<B>s 5</B>, <B>6</B> between the ends of the zip fastening <B>8</B> and the edges of the sheet <B>1</B>, <B>2</B>, <B>3</B>, <B>4</B> to allow for the sheet <B>7</B> to be cut down to fit a building aperture without cutting the zip fastener <B>8</B>. The edges <B>1</B>, <B>2</B>, <B>3</B>, <B>4</B> of the sheet may be fixed to provide a seal, the fixing may be by adhesive or adhesive tape.
