FIG. 2
Description
The present invention belongs to the field of lighting, in particular lighting for motor vehicles. The invention relates in particular to a light module for a vehicle comprising an optical imaging system, a support plate and a plastic part forming a cover for the optical imaging system and fixed on the support plate. The optical imaging system is typically a direct optical imaging system and comprises for example one or more projection lens(s). Without this being limiting in the context of the present invention, the light module can be mounted in a lighting or signaling element and/or in a motor vehicle headlight.
Current vehicle headlights generally feature an external lens, which is responsible for projecting the light emitted by the internal light sources to illuminate the road in front of the vehicle.
However, with the increase in plastic parts inside the projector, a problem arises when the solar rays hit the external lens (at certain particular angles of incidence) and the radiation is focused on or more points (s) inside the projector. Previously the material on which this or these focal point(s) were located was a metallic material. The heat then diffused quickly and easily, so that no damage was done to this part of the projector. However, if the material on which this or these focusing point(s) are located is a plastic material, as is the case in current vehicle headlights, the heat does not dissipate as easily, and damage and deformation may occur. may occur at this or these point(s), with potentially serious consequences for the waterproofing and operation of the projector. This known thermal phenomenon, generated by a magnifying effect at the level of the lens and called "sunburn" in English, thus creates hot spots on the plastic part concerned of the projector, such hot spots being likely to seriously damage the part . Such a phenomenon of the appearance of dangerous hot spots can also be created if indirect light beams from light emitting diodes of the module are deflected by the lens in the same way as explained above, in such a case this phenomenon is called “LEDburn” in English.
To remedy this problem, some manufacturers place an additional metal piece where this focus of the sun's rays is intended, and others try to absorb the radiant energy so that the radiation is not too harmful. Patent document US 2013/0223090 A1 describes for example a light module integrated into a front or rear face of a vehicle. The light module includes a lens support part, the support part being hollow and made of a plastic material. The internal side walls of the plastic support part are coated with a protective metal element, which is for example overmolded. The plastic support part then forms a hybrid component, integrating from its manufacture this metal surface element which covers its internal side walls (the plastic part being in fact formed via injection molding directly on the metal surface element) .
However, a disadvantage of the light module described in this patent document US 2013/0223090 A1 is that it is complex and expensive to produce, due to the particular manufacturing process of the hybrid support part.
Patent document DE 102013214990 A1 describes a light module comprising a lens support totally or partially made of plastic and which is provided with a metallic coating in order to prevent damage from the sun or deformation of the lens support. A disadvantage of such a light module is that it is also complex and expensive to produce.
La présente invention vient améliorer la situation. The present invention improves the situation.
An objective of the invention is to propose a light module integrated into the front or rear of a vehicle and comprising an optical imaging system (of the lens or reflector type) and a plastic part forming a cover for the system. optical imaging, which makes it possible to effectively protect the plastic part from the effect of focused light rays, while being less complex and less expensive to produce.
To this end, a first aspect of the invention relates to a light module integrated into the front or rear of a vehicle, the light module comprising: at least one light source, an optical imaging system arranged facing said at least one light source and configured so as to generate a light beam, a support plate for said at least one light source, and a plastic part fixed on the support plate, the plastic part being hollow and having at least one internal side wall delimiting a housing, the optical imaging system being received in the housing, the plastic part forming a cover for the optical imaging system.
According to the invention, the support plate is provided with at least one protrusion projecting inside the housing along said at least one internal side wall of the plastic part, said at least one protrusion being configured to protect said internal side wall of the effect of focused light rays coming from the sun and/or said at least one light source and focused by the optical imaging system.
Thanks to such an outgrowth which ensures a function of protection of the internal side wall of the plastic part against the undesirable effects of focused light rays, and which comes integrally with the support plate (the latter already being present in the module light), no additional part or component is added to the light module to ensure the protection function. By using a part already present in the module (the support plate), the light module according to the present invention thus provides a simple, effective and inexpensive means to produce to ensure the function of protecting the plastic part against radiation focused light, notably solar rays.
According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, said at least one protrusion has the shape of a rib or a protective lateral wall.
According to a first alternative embodiment, said at least one protrusion of the support plate is in contact with said at least one internal side wall of the plastic part, and is configured such that the plastic part is held by isostatism on the support plate via this contact between the internal side wall of the plastic part and the protrusion of the support plate. This provides a simple and effective way to help hold and secure the plastic part to the support plate.
According to a second alternative embodiment, said at least one protrusion of the support plate is not in contact with said at least one internal side wall of the plastic part.
According to one embodiment of this second variant, said at least one internal side wall of the plastic part is planar, and said at least one protrusion of the support plate has a substantially planar shape, and extends in a substantially plane. parallel to said at least one internal side wall of the plastic part. Due to this substantially planar shape, the protrusion is advantageously configured so as to follow the profile of the internal side wall of the plastic part, without touching this part and without hindering the direct optical propagation of the light rays coming from the light source.
According to one embodiment of the invention, the support plate and said at least one protrusion are made of a metallic material.
According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the support plate and said at least one protrusion are made of aluminum.
According to one embodiment of the invention, the optical imaging system is a direct optical imaging system.
According to one embodiment of the invention, said direct optical imaging system comprises one or more projection lens(es).
According to one embodiment of the invention, the plastic part has a substantially parallelepiped shape having two pairs of opposite internal side walls, and the support plate is provided with two protrusions projecting inside the housing, along two opposing internal side walls of the plastic part. Preferably, each protrusion is dimensioned and positioned relative to the internal side wall along which it extends such that its location in the housing corresponds to a zone of focusing of light rays coming from the sun and/or said at least one light source (such light rays being focused by the optical imaging system).
Another object of the invention relates to a lighting and/or signaling element for a vehicle, in particular a motor vehicle, comprising a light module according to the invention.
Here, the term “vehicle” means any type of vehicle such as a motor vehicle, a moped, a motorcycle, a storage robot in a warehouse, or any other vehicle capable of carrying at least one passenger or intended for the transport of people. or objects.
Another object of the invention relates to a vehicle headlight comprising a light module or a lighting and/or signaling element according to the invention.
D’autres caractéristiques et avantages de l’invention apparaîtront à l’examen de la description détaillée ci-après, et des dessins annexés sur lesquels :Other characteristics and advantages of the invention will appear on examination of the detailed description below, and the appended drawings in which:
In this document, unless otherwise indicated, the terms "horizontal", "vertical" or "transverse", "lower", "upper", "top", "below", "top", "bottom", "side" are defined in relation to the orientation of the light module 2 according to the invention, intended to be mounted in a vehicle lighting and/or signaling element. In particular, in this application, the term “vertical” designates an orientation perpendicular to the horizon while the term “horizontal” designates an orientation parallel to the horizon.
Furthermore, everything called “rear” or “front” is named relatively with reference to the face of the lighting and/or signaling element closest to the exterior of the vehicle. Thus, everything called "rear" is on the side furthest from the exterior of the vehicle according to the main extension direction of the latter, while everything called "front" is on the side closest from the outside of the vehicle according to the main extension direction of the latter. However, with regard to the vehicle's lights, these are called "front" or "rear" depending on the rear-front direction of the vehicle, therefore according to the classic rolling direction of the latter.
Figures 1 to 5 represent a light module 2 according to a first alternative embodiment of the invention. The light module 2 has an optical axis A-A’. The light module 2 is integrated into the front or rear of a vehicle and is intended to be installed in a lighting and/or signaling element of the vehicle (the lighting and/or signaling element and the vehicle n 'not being shown in the figures). The lighting and/or signaling element can typically be part of a vehicle headlight.
The light sources are typically light-emitting diodes, and are oriented in the optical axis A-A' of the light module 2. The optical imaging system is arranged facing the light sources.
The plastic part 8 is a hollow part delimiting a housing 12 and is fixed on the support plate 9, on a side 13 of the plate 9. The plastic part 8 extends at the front of the support plate 9 and has at least one internal side wall 14 which delimits the housing 12. In the particular embodiment illustrated in Figures 1 to 5, the plastic part 8 has a substantially parallelepiped shape which has two pairs of opposite internal side walls 14A , 14B, 14C, 14D. The internal side walls 14A, 14B, 14C, 14D are planar: two first pairs of opposite internal side walls 14A, 14C extend parallel to each other, and two second pairs of opposite internal side walls 14B, 14D s extend parallel to each other. The plastic part 8 further forms a cover for the optical imaging system, which is received in the housing 12. More precisely, in the particular embodiment illustrated in Figures 1 to 5, the plastic part 8 is provided with a vertical wall 15 which separates the housing 12 into two adjacent compartments 15A, 15B (the vertical wall 15 is thus fixed to the two first opposite side walls 14A, 14C, substantially at the level of their center line, and extends transversely to these two walls 14A, 14C). Each compartment 15A, 15B of the plastic part 8 receives for example a separate projection lens/field lens pair, each field lens being arranged at the rear of a corresponding projection lens.
The support plate 9 is provided with at least one protrusion projecting from the support plate 9, inside the housing 12 delimited by the plastic part 8. In the particular embodiment shown in Figures 1 to 5, the support plate 9 is provided with two such projections 16A, 16B. In this exemplary embodiment, the support plate 9 extends in a substantially vertical plane. Each protrusion 16A, 16B, which preferably has the shape of a rib or a lateral protective wall and which is integral with the support plate 9, projects inside the housing 12 along one of the second opposite internal side walls 14B, 14D of the plastic part 8. Each protrusion 16A, 16B thus extends parallel to the optical axis A-A' of the light module 2, towards the front of the module 2. Each protrusion 16A, 16B is configured to protect the internal side wall 14B, 14D along which it extends from the effect of focused light rays, in particular from the effect of solar rays and/or indirect light rays coming from the light sources (such rays being focused by the optical imaging system). More precisely, each protrusion 16A, 16B is dimensioned and positioned relative to the internal side wall 14B, 14D along which it extends such that its location in the housing 12 corresponds to a zone for focusing light rays. Preferably, the support plate 9 and the protrusions 16A, 16B are made of a metallic material, which is preferably aluminum.
The support plate 9 furthermore has two through openings 18A, 18B, for example substantially rectangular. Each opening 18A, 18B is dimensioned to receive a separate set or matrix of light emitting diodes. Each opening 18A, 18B is arranged opposite one of the field lenses. In this way, each set or matrix of light-emitting diodes is arranged facing a separate field lens.
In the preferred embodiment illustrated in Figures 1 to 5, each protrusion 16A, 16B of the support plate 9 has a substantially planar shape, and extends in a plane substantially parallel to the internal side wall 14B, 14D of the plastic part 8 along which it extends. In this way, the protrusions 16A, 16B do not hinder the direct optical propagation of the light rays coming from the light sources and heading towards the optical imaging system.
In the first alternative embodiment of the invention shown in Figures 1 to 5, the two protrusions 16A, 16B of the support plate 9 are not in contact with the opposite internal side walls 14B, 14D of the plastic part 8 along which they extend.
According to a second alternative embodiment of the invention, not shown in the figures, the two protrusions of the support plate 9 are in contact with the opposite internal side walls of the plastic part 8 along which they extend, and are configured in such a way that the plastic part 8 is held isostatically on the support plate 9 via this contact between the internal side walls of the plastic part 8 and the protrusions of the support plate 9.
The present invention is not limited to the embodiments described above by way of examples and extends to other variants. In particular, although the present invention has been described with reference to protrusions 16A, 16B each having a planar shape, other shapes are possible for the protrusions 16A, 16B, which can for example follow the profile (plane or not) internal side walls 14B, 14D of the plastic part 8.
