Description
The invention relates to vehicles comprising a converter responsible for converting electric current from a main rechargeable battery to power an on-board network and a utility battery, and more precisely the monitoring of the operation of such a converter.
Certain vehicles, possibly of the automobile type, include a rechargeable main (or traction) battery, a utility battery, and a converter capable of converting part of the electric current which is stored in this main battery to supply a network of on board and this battery of servitude.
Here we mean “main (or traction) battery” a battery responsible for supplying electric current, on the one hand, to an on-board network and a service battery via a converter, and, on the other hand, to a machine electric motor forming part of the powertrain (or GMP) of his vehicle.
Furthermore, the term "service battery" is understood here to mean a battery rechargeable at least by the converter and responsible for supplying electrical energy to the on-board network, in addition to that supplied by the converter, and sometimes in place of this converter.
In addition, the term “on-board network” is understood to mean an electrical supply network to which electrical (or electronic) equipment (or components) which consume electrical energy are coupled.
It should be noted that the invention concerns vehicles whose main battery is rechargeable in mode 2 or 3 and/or mode 4.
In the aforementioned vehicles, the converter is supposed to provide on its output (coupled to the on-board network and the utility battery) a voltage level which is always higher than the normal voltage at the terminals of the utility battery. This rule is necessary so that the current from the converter flows naturally towards the utility battery, and thus prevents the current from leaving the utility battery to flow towards the converter.
When the converter is subject to operating micro-cuts which cause it to deliver on its output a voltage level significantly lower than the normal voltage at the terminals of the utility battery, the current flows from the utility battery to the converter, which discharges and unnecessarily tires the utility battery. These micro-cuts in the operation of the converter, which generally result from a malfunction of the electrical component(s) that it includes, also allow the current coming from the utility battery to enter the converter even though these electrical components are not are not dimensioned to receive this current entering its output. However, such penetration can alter certain electrical components of the converter, and in particular those based on MOSFET(s) (in particular when they provide a capacitance function), which then causes accelerated aging of the converter and/or malfunctions. of the latter which can in particular prevent it from correctly converting the current from the main battery and therefore cause an overvoltage in the on-board network and/or the service battery, potentially dangerous for on-board equipment as well as for passengers.
Currently, there is no known solution making it possible to detect (in particular) micro-cuts in the operation of the converter. Consequently, the invention aims in particular to improve the situation.
For this purpose, it proposes in particular a monitoring method intended to be implemented in a vehicle comprising a rechargeable main battery, a service battery, a converter capable of converting part of an electric current stored in this main battery to supply power via an exit, an on-board network and this service battery.
This monitoring method is characterized by the fact that it comprises a step in which a voltage is determined at the output of the converter, then, when this determined voltage is lower than a first threshold for a duration greater than a first duration less than or equal to at 100 µs, an alert is generated from a vehicle user of a need to stop the latter and the converter is temporarily prohibited from supplying converted current to its output.
Thanks to the invention, not only is the user alerted, but moreover and above all the micro-cut in the operation of the converter is put an end, which makes it possible to avoid damage to the electrical components of the converter and equipment(s). electrical system(s) coupled to the on-board network and/or that the passengers of the vehicle run a risk.

The invention also proposes a computer program product comprising a set of instructions which, when executed by processing means, is capable of implementing a monitoring method of the type of that presented above to monitor a voltage on an output of a converter capable of converting in a vehicle part of an electric current stored in a main battery of the latter to power an on-board network and a service battery via this output.
The invention also proposes a monitoring device intended to equip a vehicle comprising a main rechargeable battery, a utility battery, a converter capable of converting part of an electric current stored in this main battery to supply via an output a network of on board and this battery of servitude.
This monitoring device is characterized by the fact that it comprises at least one processor and at least one memory arranged to carry out the operations consisting of determining a voltage on the output of the converter, then, when this determined voltage is less than a first threshold for a duration greater than a first duration less than or equal to 100 µs, to trigger generation of an alert of a user of the vehicle of a need to stop the latter and to temporarily prohibit the converter from supplying converted current its exit.

- un dispositif de surveillance du type de celui présenté ci-avant.- a monitoring device of the type presented above.
D’autres caractéristiques et avantages de l’invention apparaîtront à l’examen de la description détaillée ci-après, et des dessins annexés, sur lesquels :Other characteristics and advantages of the invention will appear on examination of the detailed description below, and the appended drawings, in which:
The invention aims in particular to propose a monitoring method, and an associated monitoring device DS, intended to allow monitoring of the voltage us on an SC output of a CV converter of a vehicle V also comprising a main battery (or traction) rechargeable BP and a rechargeable BS service battery, in order to detect at least possible micro-cuts in the operation of this CV converter.
Mais le GMP pourrait être de type hybride (thermique et électrique).Furthermore, we consider in what follows, by way of non-limiting example, that the vehicle V comprises a powertrain (or GMP) of all-electric type (and therefore whose traction is ensured exclusively by at least one electric driving machine MRS). But the GMP could be of hybrid type (thermal and electric).
The RB on-board network is an electrical supply network to which electrical (or electronic) equipment (or components) are coupled which consume electrical energy.
The utility battery BS is responsible for supplying electrical energy to the on-board network RB, in addition to that supplied by the CV converter powered by the main battery BP, and sometimes in place of this CV converter. For example, this BS utility battery can be arranged in the form of a very low voltage type battery (typically 12 V, 24 V or 48 V). It is rechargeable at least via the CV (current) converter. We consider in the following, by way of non-limiting example, that the BS utility battery is of the 12 V Lithium-ion type.
The transmission chain has a GMP which is, here, purely electric and therefore which includes, in particular, an electric driving machine MME, an AM motor shaft, and an AT transmission shaft. Here we mean “electric driving machine” an electric machine arranged so as to provide torque to move the vehicle V, as well as possibly to recover torque in regenerative braking.
The electric driving machine MME (here an electric motor) is coupled to the main battery BP, in order to be supplied with electrical energy, as well as possibly to supply this main battery BP with electrical energy, in particular during regenerative braking .
This motor shaft AM is here coupled to a reduction gear RD which is also coupled to the transmission shaft AT, itself coupled to a first train T1 (here of wheels), preferably via a differential D1.
This first train T1 is here located in the front part PVV of the vehicle V. But in a variant this first train T1 could be the one which is here referenced T2 and which is located in the rear part PRV of the vehicle V.
The CV converter is also responsible, during the driving phases of the vehicle V, for converting part of the electric current stored in the main battery BP to supply converted electric current, via an SC output which it includes, to the on-board network RB and the BS service battery (to recharge it).

In alternative embodiments, the main BP battery could only be suitable for recharging in mode 4, or only for recharging in mode 2 or 3.
De plus, dans une recharge en mode 2 ou 3 c’est le convertisseur CV du véhicule V, qui est couplé temporairement à la source d’alimentation externe via la ligne de recharge LR du véhicule V, qui alimente la batterie principale BP à recharger en courant continu, après conversion AC/DC (par exemple de 220 V vers 450 V).Please note that mode 2 charging is done by coupling the CN charging connector of the vehicle V to a conventional wall electrical outlet via a charging cable comprising a power supply connector, with a current which is generally between 8 A and 13 A, under an alternating voltage of 220 V AC, and that charging in mode 3 is done by coupling the CN charging connector of the vehicle V to a specific wall box (or “wallbox”) via a charging cable comprising a electrical power connector, with a current generally between 16 A and 32 A, under an alternating voltage of 220 V AC, single-phase or three-phase. In addition, in mode 2 or 3 charging it is the CV converter of vehicle V, which is temporarily coupled to the external power source via the LR charging line of vehicle V, which supplies the main battery BP to be recharged in direct current, after AC/DC conversion (for example from 220 V to 450 V).
It is also recalled that charging in mode 4 is done by coupling the CN charging connector of the vehicle V to a specific charging station via a charging cable comprising an electrical power connector, with a direct current which is generally between 40 A and 250 A, at a low input voltage (typically 450 V). Furthermore, in mode 4 charging, the charging connector CN of vehicle V is connected to the main battery BP to be recharged via the charging line LR of vehicle V, and therefore this main battery BP is supplied directly with direct current without conversion by the vehicle's CV converter V.
The main (or traction) battery BP can, for example, include electrical energy storage cells, possibly electrochemical (for example of the lithium-ion (or Li-ion) or Ni-Mh or Ni-Cd type). Also for example, the main BP battery can be of the low voltage type (typically 450 V for illustration purposes). But it could be medium voltage or high voltage.

As mentioned above, the invention proposes in particular a monitoring method intended to allow monitoring of the voltage us presented by the CV converter on its SC output, in order to detect at least possible micro-cuts in operation upstream of the on-board network RB and BS monitoring battery.
This (monitoring) method can be implemented at least partially by the monitoring device DS (illustrated at least partially in Figures 1 and 2) which comprises for this purpose at least one processor PR1, for example a digital signal (or DSP (“Digital Signal Processor”)), and at least one MD memory. This DS monitoring device can therefore be produced in the form of a combination of electrical or electronic circuits or components (or “hardware”) and software modules (or “software”). For example, it can be a microcontroller.
The memory MD is RAM in order to store instructions for the implementation by the processor PR1 of at least part of the monitoring process. The processor PR1 may include integrated (or printed) circuits, or several integrated (or printed) circuits connected by wired or non-wired connections. By integrated (or printed) circuit we mean any type of device capable of performing at least one electrical or electronic operation.
In the example illustrated non-limitingly in Figures 1 and 2, the monitoring device DS is at least partially part (PR1 and MD) of the CC charging calculator (and therefore of the CH charger). But this is not obligatory. Indeed, the DS monitoring device could include its own dedicated computer, which is then coupled to the DC charging computer, or could be part of another on-board computer.
Comme illustré non limitativement sur la
L’étape 10-50 du procédé comprend une sous-étape 10 dans laquelle on (le dispositif de surveillance DS) détermine une tension us sur la sortie SC du convertisseur CV.Step 10-50 of the method includes a sub-step 10 in which (the monitoring device DS) determines a voltage us on the SC output of the CV converter.
Dans ce cas, les mesures de la tension us sont déterminées auprès du dispositif de mesure DM.Note that the measurement of the voltage us can be carried out by a measuring device DM coupled to the SC output of the CV converter. In this case, the measurements of the voltage us are determined using the measuring device DM.
Si la tension us déterminée est inférieure au premier seuil s1 pendant une durée qui est strictement inférieure à la première durée d1, on (le dispositif de surveillance DS) considère qu’il n’y a pas de microcoupure de fonctionnement du convertisseur CV, et donc on retourne effectuer la sous-étape 10.Step 10-50 of the method also includes a sub-step 30 in which, when the determined voltage us is less than a first threshold s1 for a duration which is greater than a first duration d1 less than or equal to 100 µs, we generate an alert from a user of the vehicle V of a need to stop the latter (V) and the CV converter is temporarily prohibited from supplying converted current to the SC output. If the determined voltage us is lower than the first threshold s1 for a duration which is strictly less than the first duration d1, we (the monitoring device DS) consider that there is no operating micro-cut of the CV converter, and so we return to perform substep 10.
It will be understood that stopping vehicle V is intended to preserve as quickly as possible the integrity of its equipment and the safety of passengers, and to allow it to be checked by an after-sales service technician.
On notera que c’est le dispositif de surveillance DS qui déclenche dans la sous-étape 30 l’interdiction temporaire du convertisseur CV d’alimenter en courant converti sa sortie SC et la génération d’une alerte de l’usager, grâce aux opérations effectuées par ses processeur PR1 et mémoire MD.Note that it is the DS monitoring device which triggers in sub-step 30 the temporary prohibition of the CV converter from supplying converted current to its SC output and the generation of a user alert, thanks to the operations carried out by its PR1 processor and MD memory.
It will be understood that when the voltage us is lower than the first threshold s1 for a duration greater than the first duration d1 (≤ 100 µs), it is because we are in the presence of an operating micro-cut of the CV converter (observable on its SC output), and therefore that we act accordingly at least by temporarily prohibiting the CV converter from supplying converted current to the SC output and by generating a user alert. Thus, not only is the user alerted to the fact that he must stop his vehicle V as quickly as possible, but in addition and above all the micro-cut in the operation of the CV converter is put an end, which makes it possible to avoid damage to the electrical components of the CV converter and electrical equipment(s) coupled to the on-board network RB (until then supplied by the CV converter) and/or that the passengers of vehicle V run a risk. The absence of damage to the electrical components of the CV converter results from the fact that there is no longer a risk that a current from the monitoring battery BS reaches the CV converter via its SC input. The absence of damage to the electrical equipment coupled to the RB on-board network results from the fact that the CV converter no longer supplies current to the RB on-board network.
It will be noted that in a driving phase of the vehicle V, the temporary prohibition of the CV converter from supplying converted current to its SC output does not prevent the continued supply of electrical energy to the electric motive machine MME by the battery. main BP. Furthermore, in a recharging phase of the main battery BP, the temporary prohibition of the CV converter from supplying converted current to its SC output does not prevent this recharging. Indeed, in mode 2 or 3 the CV converter can continue to convert the current coming from the LR charging line to recharge the main battery BP, and in mode 4 the charging is done directly between the CN charging connector and the main battery BP (via the LR recharge line but without intervention of the CV converter).
It will also be noted that the user of the vehicle V can be alerted, for example, by means of a lit light and/or a message displayed on at least one screen of the vehicle V (for example of the dashboard). on-board or a central handset) or on the screen of a smartphone (or “smartphone”) of the user, and/or broadcast by at least one speaker of the vehicle V or this smartphone.
It will also be noted that step 10-50 may include a sub-step 20 in which we (the monitoring device DS) compare each voltage us which has just been determined to the first threshold s1. In this case, when the voltage us is greater than or equal to the first threshold s1, or when the voltage us is lower than the first threshold s1 for a duration which is less than the first duration d1, we (the monitoring device DS) returns to carry out substep 10. On the other hand, when the voltage us is lower than the first threshold s1 for a duration which is greater than the first duration d1, on (the monitoring device DS) performs substep 30.
In order to determine the duration of a micro-cut, we (the monitoring device DS) can trigger in sub-step 20 a first time delay having the first duration d1 as soon as the determined voltage us becomes for the first time lower than the first threshold s1 , and when this first time delay expires (and we still have us < s1, without interruption), we decide in substep 30 to temporarily prohibit the CV converter from supplying converted current to the SC output and to generate a user alert.
In the presence of a 12 volt type on-board network RB, it is possible, for example, to use in step 10-50 a first threshold s1 which is between 5 volts and 7 volts. As an illustrative example, the first threshold s1 can be equal to 6 V. But other values of first threshold s1 can be used (in particular when the voltage of the on-board network RB is different from 12 V). For example, the value of the first threshold s1 can be chosen during the development phase of the vehicle V.
Preferably, the first duration d1 is between 10 µs and 50 µs. As an illustrative example, the first duration d1 can be equal to 20 µs. But other values of first duration d1 can be used. For example, the value of the first duration d1 can be chosen during the development phase of the vehicle V.
It will be noted that in sub-step 30 of step 10-50, when the determined voltage us is lower than the first threshold s1 for a duration which is greater than the first duration d1, it is also possible to record at least (the monitoring device DS monitoring can trigger the recording of at least one fault code which is representative of a micro-cutting problem in the operation of the CV converter. This makes it easier to find the origin of the micro-cut by the after-sales service technician to whom the inspection of vehicle V has been entrusted.
Par exemple, la période peut être supérieure ou égale à la première durée d1.It should also be noted that preferably on (the monitoring device DS) periodically performs step 10-50, starting by determining the voltage us each time. For example, the period can be greater than or equal to the first duration d1.
It will be understood that this periodicity applies in each life phase in which step 10-50 is implemented, and therefore at least during the driving phases and preferably in all life phases of the vehicle V (except when 'he is asleep).
It will also be noted that preferably in step 10-50, in the event of a temporary ban on supplying converted current to the SC output of the CV converter, the (the monitoring device DS triggers the supply of the) network of on-board RB with electrical energy which comes from the service battery BS in sub-step 30. This advantageously makes it possible to continue to (or to) operate electrical equipment which is coupled to the on-board network RB, but without risk of current rising in the CV converter via its SC output.
It will also be noted that step 10-50 can also include a sub-step 40 in which, when the voltage us determined is greater than the first threshold s1 and less than a second threshold s2, strictly greater than the first threshold s1, for a duration which is greater than a second duration d2, strictly greater than the first duration d1, an alert is generated from the user of the vehicle V of a need to stop the latter (V) and the CV converter is temporarily prohibited from supplying power into current converted the SC output. If the determined voltage us is greater than the first threshold s1 and less than the second threshold s2 for a duration which is strictly less than the second duration d2, we (the monitoring device DS) consider that there is no sub- voltage at the SC output of the CV converter, and therefore we return to carry out substep 10.
It will be understood that stopping vehicle V is also intended here to preserve as quickly as possible the integrity of its equipment and the safety of passengers, and to allow it to be checked by an after-sales service technician.
It will be noted that it is the DS monitoring device which triggers in sub-step 40 the temporary prohibition of the CV converter from supplying converted current to its SC output and the generation of a user alert, thanks to the operations carried out by its PR1 processor and MD memory.
It will be understood that when the voltage us is greater than the first threshold s1 and less than the second threshold s2 for a duration which is strictly greater than the second duration d2, it is because we are in the presence of an undervoltage at the SC output of the CV converter, and therefore that we act accordingly at least by temporarily prohibiting the CV converter from supplying converted current to the SC output and by generating a user alert. Thus, not only is the user alerted to the fact that he must stop his vehicle V as quickly as possible, but in addition and above all the undervoltage generated by the CV converter is put to an end, which makes it possible to avoid a damage to electrical equipment(s) coupled to the on-board network RB (until then supplied by the CV converter) and/or that the passengers of vehicle V are at risk. The absence of damage to the electrical equipment coupled to the RB on-board network results from the fact that the CV converter no longer supplies current to the RB on-board network.
It will be noted that in a driving phase of the vehicle V, the temporary prohibition of the CV converter from supplying converted current to its SC output, resulting from the detection of an undervoltage, does not prevent the continuation of the supply of electrical energy to the electric driving machine MME by the main battery BP. Furthermore, in a recharging phase of the main battery BP, the temporary prohibition of the CV converter from supplying converted current to its SC output, resulting from the detection of an undervoltage, does not prevent this recharging whatever is the mode, for the same reasons as those described above in the context of detecting a micro-cut.
It will also be noted that the user of the vehicle V can be alerted, for example, by means of a lit light and/or a message displayed on at least one screen of the vehicle V (for example of the dashboard). on-board or central instrument panel) or on the screen of the user's smartphone, and/or broadcast by at least one speaker of the vehicle V or this smartphone.
In order to determine the duration of an undervoltage, we (the monitoring device DS) can trigger in substep 20 a second time delay having the second duration d2 as soon as the determined voltage us becomes for the first time greater than the first threshold s1 and lower than the second threshold s2, and when this second time delay expires (and we still have s1 < us < s2, without interruption), we decide to temporarily prohibit the CV converter from supplying converted current to the output SC and generate a user alert.
In the presence of a 12 volt type on-board network RB, it is possible, for example, to use in step 10-50 a second threshold s2 which is between 7.5 volts and 9.5 volts. As an illustrative example, the second threshold s2 can be equal to 8.5 V. But other values of second threshold s2 can be used (in particular when the voltage of the on-board network RB is different from 12 V). For example, the value of the second threshold s2 can be chosen during the development phase of the vehicle V.
As an illustrative example, the second duration d2 can be equal to 200 ms. But other values of second duration d2 can be used. For example, the value of the second duration d2 can be chosen during the development phase of the vehicle V.
It will also be noted that in sub-step 40 of step 10-50, when the determined voltage us is greater than the first threshold s1 and less than the second threshold s2 for a duration which is strictly greater than the second duration d2, we can also record at least (the monitoring device DS can trigger the recording of at least) one fault code which is representative of an undervoltage problem on the SC output of the CV converter. This makes it easier to find the origin of the undervoltage by the after-sales service technician to whom the inspection of the vehicle V has been entrusted.
It will also be noted that in sub-step 10 of step 10-50 we (the monitoring device DS) also compare each voltage us which has just been determined to the second threshold s2. In this case, when the voltage us is greater than or equal to the second threshold s2, or when the voltage us is greater than the first threshold s1 and less than the second threshold s2 for a duration which is less than the second duration d2, we (the device monitoring device DS) returns to carry out sub-step 10. On the other hand, when the voltage us is greater than the first threshold s1 and less than the second threshold s2 for a duration which is greater than the second duration d2, we (the monitoring device DS ) performs substep 40.
It will also be noted that preferably in sub-step 40, in the event of a temporary ban on supplying converted current to the SC output of the CV converter, the (the monitoring device DS triggers the supply of the) on-board network is supplied. RB with electrical energy which comes from the BS service battery. This advantageously makes it possible to continue to (or to) operate electrical equipment which is coupled to the on-board network RB, but without the risk of current rising in the CV converter via its SC output.
It will also be noted that step 10-50 can also include a sub-step 50 in which it is considered that a previously detected micro-cut is no longer present when the determined voltage us becomes greater than a third threshold s3 for a duration which is at least equal to a third duration d3 chosen, after a temporary ban on supplying converted current to the SC output of the CV converter following the detection of a micro-cut. In this case, we (the monitoring device DS) re-authorizes the normal and complete operation of the CV converter, and we stop generating an (the monitoring device DS stops triggering the generation of a) alert for the user or we postpone this cessation until the vehicle V is awakened after having been asleep.
For example, in the presence of a 12 volt type RB on-board network, we can use a third threshold s3 which is between 8 volts and 10 volts. As an illustrative example, the third threshold s3 can be equal to 9 volts.
Par exemple, la valeur de chaque troisième durée d3 peut être choisie pendant la phase de mise au point du véhicule V.Also for example, in substep 50 of step 10-50, the third duration d3 can be between 50 ms and 200 ms. As an illustrative example, the third duration d3 can be equal to 100 ms. But other values of third duration d3 can be used, and in particular we could use different third durations d3 depending on the phase of life. For example, the value of each third duration d3 can be chosen during the development phase of the vehicle V.
It will also be noted that in sub-step 50 it can be considered that a previously detected undervoltage is no longer present when the determined voltage us becomes greater than a fourth threshold s4 for a duration which is at least equal to a fourth duration d4 chosen, after a temporary ban on supplying converted current to the SC output of the CV converter following the detection of an undervoltage. In this case, we (the monitoring device DS) re-authorizes the normal and complete operation of the CV converter, and we stop generating an (the monitoring device DS stops triggering the generation of a) alert for the user or we postpone this cessation until the vehicle V is awakened after having been asleep.
For example, in the presence of a 12 volt type RB on-board network, a fourth threshold s4 can be used which is between 8 volts and 10 volts. As an illustrative example, the fourth threshold s4 can be equal to 9 volts.
Par exemple, la valeur de chaque quatrième durée d4 peut être choisie pendant la phase de mise au point du véhicule V.Also for example, in substep 50 of step 10-50, the fourth duration d4 can be between 500 ms and 2 s. As an illustrative example, the fourth duration d4 can be equal to 1 s. But other values of fourth duration d4 can be used, and in particular we could use different fourth durations d4 depending on the phase of life. For example, the value of each fourth duration d4 can be chosen during the development phase of the vehicle V.
In the above, the examples of range of values and the examples of illustrative value of the third s3 and fourth s4 thresholds are identical, but they could be different.

It will also be noted that the invention also proposes a computer program product (or computer program) comprising a set of instructions which, when executed by processing means of the electronic circuit (or hardware) type, such as for example the processor PR1, is capable of implementing the monitoring method described above to monitor the voltage us on the output SC of the CV converter of the vehicle V, in order to detect micro-cuts as well as possibly undervoltages.
