L’invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif d’alerte d’un véhicule (11) circulant dans un environnement routier (1). A cet effet, le véhicule (11) détecte un élément ralentisseur (12) à partir d’une donnée représentative de l’environnement routier (1). Le véhicule (11) compare sa vitesse avec une valeur seuil associée à l’élément ralentisseur (12) et, le cas échéant, affiche un contenu graphique représentatif d’une alerte de survitesse à destination d’un conducteur du véhicule (11), le contenu graphique étant avantageusement mis en œuvre par un système de réalité augmentée intégré au véhicule (11).
