Description
The invention relates in particular to a system for the treatment of element(s) of interest of the skin of a user, in particular acne pimple(s), by plasma at atmospheric pressure.
Atmospheric pressure plasma (also known as “cold plasma” or “non-thermal plasma”) can interact with biological tissues and cells.
Among the possible applications, atmospheric pressure plasma can be used in biology and medicine for sterilization, disinfection, decontamination and wound healing.
Thus, atmospheric plasma treatment devices configured to respond to these different applications are known.
In particular, some of these devices are configured for the cosmetic treatment of the skin by plasma at atmospheric pressure.
Such devices are therefore configured to apply a plasma to the surface of the skin, and in particular to the surface of the face, for example for treating acne.
For example, the United States patent application published under number US 2020/0038673 describes such a cosmetic treatment device.
Such devices include an atmospheric pressure plasma generation device configured to be able to generate atmospheric pressure plasma from an electrical control signal.
Such cosmetic skin treatment devices are typically configured to allow only one or two settings for the amount of plasma that can be instantly generated by the plasma generating device.
The adjustment options for the amount of plasma that can be generated instantaneously are therefore limited. However, for certain treatments, it may be preferable to apply a quantity of plasma for which no adjustment is provided by the device.
In addition, adjustment is permitted by at least one push button or wheel provided on the device.
Thus, for such treatment devices, the user himself selects the setting of the plasma generation device by pressing the push button corresponding to this setting. However, the user is not always aware of the appropriate setting for his treatment. The use of such treatment devices can therefore prove to be complex for the user.
Furthermore, the effectiveness of adjusting the amount of plasma in a treatment varies between users. Thus, a setting can be optimized for one user but not for other users.
L’invention vise à remédier à ces inconvénients. The invention aims to remedy these drawbacks.
The subject of the invention is in particular a system comprising:
- a device for generating plasma at atmospheric pressure,
- a control device configured to control the plasma generation device by a power supply signal according to a setting to carry out a treatment of an element of interest of the skin, for example an acne pimple,
- a processing unit configured for:
○ perform a temporal follow-up of the results of the treatment on the element of interest,
○ set power signal setting according to time tracking results,
○ transmit the set power signal setting to the controller.
The adjustment of the power signal makes it possible to regulate the generation of plasma by the generation device.
Preferably, the adjustment of the power signal makes it possible to define a total duration, a frequency and a power of this power signal.
Such a system makes it possible to adapt the adjustment of the power supply signal according to the results obtained by the treatment over time.
In particular, at the start of the treatment, an initial setting of the power supply signal can be predefined or chosen randomly.
This initial setting may not be the best setting to address the user's skin feature of interest.
Thus, by adapting the setting during the treatment according to the results obtained, it is possible to make the treatment more efficient, and therefore to reduce the period of treatment of the element of interest.
The adjustment of the power signal is therefore carried out according to the results obtained during the treatment on the skin of the user.
In an advantageous embodiment, the processing unit, to perform time tracking, is configured to:
- obtain physiognomic data of the element of interest to which a temporal indication is associated, then
- storing these physiognomic data and their temporal indication in a memory.
For example, the physiognomic data includes dimensions of the element of interest and/or a level of inflammation of the element of interest and/or a level of sebum retention.
Preferably, the processing unit is configured to, after each obtaining of physiognomic data, compare these last physiognomic data obtained with physiognomic data previously obtained, for example with the penultimate physiognomic data obtained, so as to calculate a gradient of course of treatment.
The evolution gradient of the treatment makes it possible to evaluate the effectiveness of the setting used.
Advantageously, the processing unit is configured to associate with each adjustment used an evolution gradient calculated after having used this adjustment, and to store this adjustment and the associated evolution gradient in the memory.
In an advantageous embodiment, the processing unit is configured to increase the adjustment of the power supply signal when the evolution gradient is below a predefined threshold.
In an advantageous embodiment, the processing unit is configured to define as optimized setting, the setting associated with the highest evolution gradient.
The physiognomic data of the element of interest can be entered directly by the user. Nevertheless, preferably, the system also comprises an image acquisition device configured to acquire several images of the element of interest for the temporal monitoring of the results of the treatment on this element of interest. The processing unit is then configured to obtain said physiognomic data by extracting these physiognomic data from the acquired images.
The extraction of physiognomic data from images of the element of interest facilitates the use of the system by the user. Indeed, the user does not have to fill in these physiognomic data on his own, which can be difficult for the user to measure.
In an advantageous embodiment, the system comprises:
- a multifunction telephone comprising the image acquisition device, the processing unit and said memory,
- A processing apparatus comprising the control device and the plasma generation device.
In an advantageous embodiment, the multifunction telephone comprises a transmitter configured to communicate the adapted setting of the power signal to a receiver of the treatment apparatus by wireless transmission.
Dans un mode de réalisation avantageux, l’émetteur du téléphone multifonctions est configuré pour communiquer le réglage adapté du signal d’alimentation au récepteur de l’appareil de traitement selon la norme de communication Bluetooth®.In an advantageous embodiment, the transmitter of the multifunction telephone is configured to communicate the appropriate setting of the power supply signal to the receiver of the treatment device according to the Bluetooth® communication standard.
The invention also relates to a method for adjusting a plasma generation device for treatment of an element of interest of the skin of a user, comprising:
- temporal monitoring of the results of the processing on the element of interest,
- an adjustment of the plasma generation device according to the results of the time tracking.
In an advantageous mode of implementation, the temporal tracking comprises obtaining the physiognomic data of the element of interest with which a temporal indication is associated.
Advantageously, the physiognomic data comprises dimensions of the element of interest and/or a level of inflammation of the element of interest and/or a level of sebum retention.
Preferably, the temporal monitoring comprises, after each obtaining of physiognomic data, a calculation of a gradient of evolution of the treatment from a comparison of the last physiognomic data obtained with physiognomic data previously obtained.
In an advantageous mode of implementation, each adjustment used is associated with an evolution gradient calculated after having used this adjustment.
In an advantageous mode of implementation, the adjustment of the power supply signal is increased when the evolution gradient is less than a predefined threshold.
Preferably, the method comprises a definition of an optimized setting, the optimized setting being the setting associated with the highest evolution gradient.
Advantageously, obtaining physiognomic data of the element of interest includes:
- an acquisition of at least one image of the element of interest, and
- an extraction of physiognomic data of the element of interest from said at least one acquired image.
The invention also relates to a method for adjusting a power supply signal delivered by the control device of a system as described previously, in particular for the treatment of an element of interest of the skin of a user, the method comprising:
○ temporal monitoring of the processing results on the element of interest by the processing unit,
○ a definition of the adjustment of the power supply signal according to the results of the time tracking by the processing unit,
○ a transmission of the defined setting of the supply signal to the control device by the processing unit.
The invention also relates to a computer program product comprising instructions which, when the program is executed by a processing unit, lead the latter to implement a method as described above.
D'autres avantages et caractéristiques de l’invention apparaîtront à l’examen de la description détaillée de modes de mise en œuvre et de réalisation, nullement limitatifs, et des dessins annexés sur lesquels :Other advantages and characteristics of the invention will appear on examination of the detailed description of modes of implementation and embodiments, in no way limiting, and of the appended drawings in which:
Such a system SYS is configured to treat elements of interest of a user's skin sensitive to plasma at atmospheric pressure.
By way of non-limiting example, in all that follows, such items of interest are ACN acne pimples.
That said, other elements of interest of a user's skin can be considered. For example, the skin elements of interest can be redness, pore size, micro wounds or even dark spots.
The atmospheric pressure plasma generation device DGP is configured to generate atmospheric pressure plasma outside the APT device from an SA power signal.
In particular, the DGP plasma generation device conventionally comprises a live electrode and a ground electrode as well as a dielectric barrier placed against the live electrode. In an advantageous embodiment, the ground electrode is the biological surface on which the plasma generation device is applied. This biological surface thus acts as a floating ground electrode. A plasma at atmospheric pressure can be generated between these two electrodes. In particular, when the energized electrode is powered relative to the ground electrode by the power source, a plasma is generated from a plasma gas located between the electrodes. In an advantageous embodiment, the gas is the ambient air located between the dielectric barrier and the floating ground electrode (the biological surface treated). The plasma gas can contain at least one noble gas such as helium or argon or neon.
The quantity of plasma generated instantaneously can then vary according to a duty cycle of the power supply signal SA.
Additionally, the DC controller has an input configured to receive an RSA setting from the power signal. The DC controller is then configured to produce different SA power signals depending on the RSA setting it receives as input.
The power signal setting allows you to define a total duration, frequency and power of this power signal.
For example, when the SA power signal is a PWM signal, the DC controller can be configured to change the duty cycle of the SA power signal according to the RSA setting it receives as input.
Alternatively, the DC controller can be configured to change the voltage amplitude of the SA power signal according to the RSA setting it receives as input.
Specifically, the APT device features an RE receiver configured to be able to receive an RSA setting of the power signal transmitted by an EM transmitter of the feature phone. The RE receiver is electrically connected to the DC control device so that it can transmit the RSA setting of the power signal to it.
The RSA setting can be communicated to the receiver RE by the transmitter EM according to a wireless transmission RAD, for example according to the Bluetooth® communication standard.
The TEL feature telephone is configured to determine an RSA setting of the power signal suitable for enabling generation of a suitable amount of plasma for the treatment of a user's acne pimple.
Le téléphone multifonctions TEL comprend également une mémoire MEM.In particular, the multifunction telephone TEL comprises a processing unit UT. The processing unit UT can be a processor or a microprocessor for example. The TEL multifunction telephone also includes a memory MEM.
L’unité de traitement UT est configurée pour effectuer un suivi temporel des résultats d’un traitement d’un bouton d’acné ACN.The UT Treatment Unit is configured to time track the results of an ACN pimple treatment.
More specifically, the UT treatment unit is configured to carry out this temporal tracking from images of the ACN acne pimple acquired over time during the treatment.
Le dispositif d’acquisition d’images DA peut être classiquement un appareil photographique intégré au téléphone multifonctions TEL.To do this, the multifunction telephone TEL includes an image acquisition device DA. The image acquisition device DA may conventionally be a camera integrated into the multifunction telephone TEL.
The DA image acquisition device is therefore adapted to be able to acquire several images of an acne pimple over time during a treatment.
In particular, an image of the acne pimple can be acquired regularly, for example on a daily basis.
The processing unit UT is configured to extract physiognomic data of the acne pimple from an acquired image of the acne pimple.
In particular, the physiognomic data of the acne pimple may be dimensions of the acne pimple and/or level of inflammation and/or level of sebum retention. The physiognomic data of the acne pimple may also include an indication of the position of the acne pimple on the face, and a date of appearance of the acne pimple.
The physiognomic data extracted from an image are associated with a time indication relating to an image acquisition moment. For example, the time indication can be an image acquisition date.
The processing unit UT is also configured to store in the memory MEM the physiognomic data extracted as well as their time indication.
In order to carry out the temporal monitoring of the results of the processing, the processing unit UT is configured to, after each extraction of physiognomic data, compare the physiognomic data extracted from the last image acquired with the physiognomic data extracted from a previously acquired image, for example of the penultimate image acquired.
From this comparison, the processing unit UT is configured to calculate a gradient of evolution of the processing from the comparison made between the physiognomic data.
This treatment evolution gradient makes it possible to assess the effectiveness of the setting used.
For example, the processing unit UT can be configured to adapt the setting of the power supply signal from a comparison between the evolution gradient obtained and a predefined threshold. As a variant, the processing unit UT can be configured to adapt the adjustment of the power supply signal from a comparison between the evolution gradient obtained and an evolution gradient calculated after the acquisition of the penultimate picture.
En outre, l’unité de traitement UT peut également régler un rapport cyclique du signal d’alimentation, notamment lorsque ce signal d’alimentation est un signal PWM.For example, the processing unit UT is configured to adjust a voltage amplitude of the power supply signal delivered to the plasma generation device DGP. The processing unit can also set a frequency of the power signal. In addition, the processing unit UT can also adjust a duty cycle of the power supply signal, in particular when this power supply signal is a PWM signal.
Once the setting of the power supply signal has been determined, the processing unit UT is configured to transmit this setting to the transmitter EM to communicate the setting to the processing device.
In particular, when the setting is received by the receiver RE of the processing device, the setting is transmitted to the control device DC. The DC control device is then configured to power the DGP plasma generation device from a power signal generated according to the received setting.
Furthermore, the processing unit UT is configured to store in the memory MEM the evolution gradients obtained for the various settings selected.
From the different evolution gradients stored in the memory MEM, the processing unit UT is configured to define an optimized setting of the power supply signal. The optimized setting is the setting for which the evolution gradient obtained following this setting is the highest.

The method comprises a first step 20 in which a first image of the acne pimple is acquired at the start of treatment by the image acquisition device.
Then, the method comprises a step 21 in which the processing unit UT extracts physiognomic data of the acne pimple from the first image acquired. This information can be dimensions of the pimple, level of inflammation and level of sebum retention. A temporal indication of the moment of image acquisition is associated with these physiognomic data. The physiognomic data and their temporal indication are stored in the memory MEM.
Then, the method includes a step 22 in which the processing unit UT defines an initial setting of the power supply signal. This setting can be a preset or chosen randomly.
Then, the method comprises a succession of steps 23 to 29 which it repeats regularly in order to adapt the adjustment of the power supply signal during the processing.
In particular, the method comprises a temporal monitoring ST of the treatment of the acne pimple from the images acquired at different times of the treatment, for example every day.
Thus, ST time tracking includes a step 23, in which the image acquisition device acquires a new image.
Time tracking includes a step 24 in which the processing unit UT obtains the image acquired by the image acquisition device. This image was therefore acquired at a given time during the treatment.
The temporal monitoring then comprises a step 25 in which the processing unit UT extracts new physiognomic data of the acne pimple from the image acquired in step 23. A temporal indication of the moment of acquisition of the acne pimple he image is associated with these new physiognomic data. The new physiognomic data and their temporal indication are stored in the memory MEM.
Then, the time tracking includes a step 26 in which the processing unit UT compares the physiognomic data extracted from the last image acquired with the physiognomic data extracted from the penultimate image acquired.
This comparison enables the processing unit UT to calculate a processing evolution gradient. This evolution gradient can be calculated from a difference between the levels of inflammation extracted from the two images and/or from a difference between the levels of sebum retention extracted from the two images and/or from a difference between the dimensions of the button extracted from the two images.
The evolution gradient of the treatment makes it possible to evaluate the effectiveness of a setting used.
The processing unit UT then uses this evolution gradient to adapt the setting of the power supply signal.
The power signal setting allows you to define a total duration, frequency and power of this power signal.
In particular, in step 27, the processing unit UT compares the evolution gradient calculated in step 26 with a predefined threshold or else with a previous evolution gradient calculated after the acquisition of the penultimate picture.
Depending on the result of this comparison, the processing unit UT increases, reduces or maintains the adjustment of the supply signal.
For example, if the evolution gradient is greater than the threshold or the previous evolution gradient, the processing unit UT can choose to maintain the adjustment of the supply signal or else to reduce it.
Furthermore, if the evolution gradient is lower than the threshold or the previous evolution gradient, the processing unit UT can choose to increase the setting of the supply signal.
Ensuite, à l’étape 28, l’unité de traitement UT transmet, via l’émetteur EM, le réglage adapté à l’appareil de traitement, et plus particulièrement au dispositif de commande DC, par l’intermédiaire du récepteur RE.Then, in step 28, the processing unit UT transmits, via the transmitter EM, the appropriate setting to the processing device, and more particularly to the control device DC, via the receiver RE.
Then, the processing unit evaluates in step 29 whether the treatment of the acne pimple is finished or not. If processing is not complete, steps 23 through 29 are repeated.
At the end of the processing, the method may include a step 30, in which the processing unit UT defines an optimized setting of the power supply signal. This optimized setting is the setting that made it possible to obtain the highest evolution gradient during the treatment.
This optimized power signal setting can then be used at the start of future treatments for other acne breakouts for the user.
Of course, the present invention is susceptible to various variants and modifications which will occur to those skilled in the art. For example, the UT processing unit can be configured to temporally track multiple acne pimples of the user. Indeed, the image acquisition device can be used to take an image of several acne pimples, in particular on the face of the user. The UT treatment unit can then be configured to identify a position on the face for each acne pimple. The processing unit UT can thus, for each acne pimple, associate and then store in the memory MEM an identifier of the acne pimple, its position and its physiognomic data. The processing unit UT can thus perform the time tracking of each button separately from this information stored in memory.
