Abstract

La présente invention a trait au domaine du recyclage des plastiques de type PET couramment utilisés pour la fabrication de bouteilles en plastiques jetables, barquettes alimentaires, textile... Plus particulièrement, elle concerne un procédé permettant le recyclage du PET en dimethyl téréphtalate ou téréphtalate de diméthyle (DMT) en quelques heures (moins de 5h) par la mise en œuvre d’une réaction complète résultant en un produit dénué d’impuretés. L’étape de dépolymérisation a lieu en présence de méthanol, ainsi que d’une base organique à motif guanidine et d’une deuxième base qui peut être soit inorganique, soit un éther oxyde. Ces deux bases sont présentes en quantités catalytiques par rapport à la quantité de PET à traiter.
