Description
Domaine de l’invention et état de la technique antérieureField of the invention and state of the prior art
The invention relates to the field of the filtration process for respiratory protection masks against pollution, aerosols, viruses, and/or bacteria. It is a question of filtering the particles in suspension in the air thanks to a process of superposition of cotton textiles, with a view to using the association thus obtained, in particular and without limitation, for the production of masks. to put on the bottom of the face.
The Faso Dan Fani, is a Burkinabe fabric par excellence used for decades in Burkina Faso and made by artisanal weaving. Literally, Faso Dan Fani means "woven loincloth of the homeland". Faso Dan Fani has enabled thousands of women weavers to improve their living conditions. It bears an important interest both economically and traditionally. This traditional fabric is obtained from cotton, which once harvested, is spun and dyed . The cotton is then woven on horizontal looms. The weavers thus make more or less wide strips, then assembled to make a loincloth. This artisanal weaving makes it possible to have original and variable patterns and textures, but the weights can vary from one fabric to another depending on the thickness of the yarn used. The weaving of Faso Dan Fani is similar to the weaving of two other traditional West African textiles: Kenté and Rabal.
In the first half of 2020, fabric masks had already been produced in several countries around the world, with the aim of achieving the protection efficiency of more than 90% of aerosols. However, these masks do not always have sufficient performance in terms of filtration and air permeability. A database published by the French Institute of Textiles and Clothing (IFTH), and updated on May 26, 2020, presents examples of industrial textiles to achieve this objective.
We have certainly already explored the use of Faso Dan Fani for the production of respiratory protection masks. But so far, the masks produced either did not allow more than 90% filtration of aerosols and particles of 3 µm, or offered insufficient air permeability compared to the threshold of 90 Lm -2 .s. -1 at 100 Pa depression. The problem consists in achieving with this fabric a filtration which makes it possible to satisfy these two requirements.
The invention aims to remedy the drawbacks and limitations of the state of the art, by presenting a filtration process which makes it possible to use Faso Dan Fani in superposition with one or more other cotton textiles, to filter between 90% and 99% of 3 µm aerosols and between 65% and 96% of 1 µm aerosols while guaranteeing an air permeability greater than 94 Lm -2 .s -1 at a depression of 100 Pa. The material thus produced by the present invention makes it possible to satisfy these aerosol filtration and air permeability requirements, while making the Faso Dan Fani the most visible layer from the outside.
The invention includes both the process and the filtration materials obtained by this process. The material obtained by this filtration process can be used for the production of respiratory protection masks to be placed on the lower face, without this use being limiting.
The invention relates in particular to the method of filtration by association of one or more cotton textile layers on a Faso Dan Fani fabric so that the association thus produced can filter between 90% and 99% of the particles of 3 μm and between 65% and 96% of 1 µm particles, while guaranteeing air permeability greater than 94 Lm -2 .s -1 at 100 Pa depression.
Par ailleurs, des modes de réalisation de l'invention peuvent comporter l'une ou plusieurs des caractéristiques suivantes :Further, embodiments of the invention may include one or more of the following features:
- un tissu en Kenté est utilisé en lieu et place du tissu en Faso Dan Fani comme couche visible de l’extérieur.a Kenté fabric is used instead of the Faso Dan Fani fabric as the visible layer from the outside.
- un tissu en Rabal peut est utilisé en lieu et place du Faso Dan Fani ou du Kenté, comme couche visible de l’extérieur.a Rabal fabric can be used instead of Faso Dan Fani or Kenté, as a visible layer from the outside.
- on superpose une seule couche de textile à un tissu en Faso Dan Fani, Kenté ou Rabal.a single layer of textile is superimposed on a fabric in Faso Dan Fani, Kenté or Rabal.
