Description
The invention relates to an optical part for a motor vehicle light module. The invention also relates to a motor vehicle light module as such comprising such an optical part. Finally, it also relates to a motor vehicle as such, integrating such an optical part or such a light module.
Light modules for motor vehicles are known that are used to provide ambient lighting for the passenger compartment of motor vehicles. Figure 1 schematically illustrates a light module 1 of the state of the art. Such a light module comprises two parts, a first part corresponding to a light emitting device, and a second part forming an optical part intended to guide and diffuse the light received from the first part. According to the solution represented by FIG. 1, the light-emitting device rests on a printed circuit 2 (PCB) which supports a light source 3, electronic components, not represented, intended to control the electrical supply of the source of light 3 and more generally to control the latter, and conductive tracks, not shown, connecting in particular these electronic components to the light source 3. The printed circuit 2 further comprises a connector 4 on one end, intended for the electrical connection of the light emitting device and more generally of the light module. Optical part 9 can be a light guide. It is in an elongated form in a longitudinal direction, around an optical axis x. This longitudinal direction of the light guide is perpendicular to the plane of the printed circuit 2. The light source 3, which may be a light-emitting diode LED, is arranged on the printed circuit 2 so as to face one end of the optical part 9. The emission axis of the light source 3, which is axial in this figure 1, that is to say perpendicular to the plane on which the LED is fixed, is thus aligned with the optical axis x (c' that is to say the longitudinal direction) of the light guide, and its emitted light thus enters the light guide which diffuses it over its entire length, generating a light beam for ambient lighting. Such a solution gives a good result in terms of lighting, but has the main drawback of high cost. On the other hand, it is complex to mount, since it is necessary in particular to ensure great precision in the positioning of the printed circuit 2 to guarantee the correct orientation of the LED relative to the light guide. It is more cumbersome.
The object of the invention is to provide an inexpensive light module, suitable for ambient lighting of a motor vehicle.
Another object of the invention is to provide a simpler and more efficient light module, which is less bulky.
To this end, the invention relates to an optical part for a motor vehicle light module, comprising an optical part able to receive light rays from a light source and to transmit them in order to form a light beam, remarkable in that the optical part further comprises a support surface comprising conductive tracks of an electric current arranged on a support part, and in that the optical part and the support part form a one-piece assembly.
The optical part can be a reflector, a lens or a light guide.
The support part can be made in one piece with the optical part, in particular be formed in the same operation of injecting plastic material into a mould. As a variant, the support part can be fixed in a non-removable manner to the optical part, in particular fixed by welding, by gluing, or resulting from a method of multiple injections of plastic materials into a mould.
The optical part and the support part can be in different materials or in the same material.
The invention also relates to a light module which may comprise a light emitting device comprising at least one light source and comprising an optical part in accordance with the invention, the at least one light source being arranged on the support surface of the optical part.
The at least one light source may be a low-power source, in particular of power less than or equal to 0.5 W.
The at least one light source can be an axial or lateral emitting light-emitting diode.
The light module may comprise electronic components arranged on the support surface of the optical part and electrically connected to the at least one light source via said conductive tracks for controlling the electrical power supply of the at least one source from light.
The light module may include a cover arranged around the support part of the optical part.
The light module may comprise a casing fixed to the optical part, said casing incorporating a cover arranged around the support part.
The casing may include fixing elements suitable for fixing the light module to a motor vehicle.
The invention also relates to a motor vehicle, remarkable in that it comprises at least one optical part in accordance with the invention, or a light module in accordance with the invention.
The at least one light module can form an ambient lighting device for the vehicle, and can in particular be arranged on a door panel or a dashboard.
These objects, characteristics and advantages of the present invention will be explained in detail in the following description of a particular embodiment given on a non-limiting basis in relation to the attached figures, among which:
The invention is based on the concept of simplifying the first part of a light module such as that described with reference to Figure 1, by removing the printed circuit of the state of the art and replacing it with an extension of the optical part or an element fixed to this optical part, so as to form a support. This support forms a one-piece assembly with the optical part, as will be detailed later. The light emission device will be arranged directly on such a support, for example by using plastronics techniques.
Figures 2 to 4 illustrate a light module 11 according to one embodiment of the invention.
This light module 11 likewise comprises two parts, fulfilling the same functions as in the state of the art. However, the optical part 20, which is a light guide in this embodiment, comprises an optical part 29 and an extension which comprises a flat surface forming a support surface 23 of the first part of the light-emitting device. The extension of the optical part 20 therefore forms a support part 22 of the optical part 20. The optical part 29 is able to receive light rays from a light source 13 and to transmit them in order to form a light beam, mood or for any other lighting.
The support surface 23 of the optical part 20 is preferably a flat surface. This flat surface is advantageously parallel to the longitudinal axis or optical axis x of the optical part 29. As a variant, the support surface 23, as well as the support part 22 on which it is arranged, could have another shape.
The light emitting device comprises, as in the state of the art, a light source 13, electronic components 16 to control the power supply of the light source, and more generally to control and control this light source 13, and a connector 14 for the electrical connection of the light module. All these elements are directly fixed on the support surface 23. The latter also comprises conductive tracks 27 on the surface which electrically connect these various elements together. Finally, a cover 15 covers all these elements of the light-emitting device to protect them.
D’autre part, le dispositif d’émission lumineuse pourrait comprendre plusieurs sources de lumière 13, notamment plusieurs LEDs.The light source 13 may be a side-emitting LED, unlike the embodiment of FIG. 1, so that it emits a light beam in a direction parallel to the support surface 23 on which it is fixed. Naturally, the arrangement of the support surface 23 relative to the light guide is such that the light beam emitted by the light source 13 is aligned with the longitudinal direction of the light guide (optical part 29). As a variant, the arrangement could have another shape, and the light source could be different, for example of the axial emission type, emitting in an axis perpendicular to the support surface 23. On the other hand, the device for light emission could comprise several light sources 13, in particular several LEDs.
In addition, advantageously, the support surface 23 is obtained by a support part 22 which is presented as an extension of the optical part 29. This assembly forming an optical part 20 is advantageously molded in a single operation, for example by injection of a plastic material in a mould. Thus, the support part 22 (including its support surface 23) is integral with the optical part 29. The support part 22 and the optical part 29 are therefore made of the same material.
As a variant, the optical part 20 could be manufactured by a different process, for example by a bi-injection, or a multi-injection. This process could make it possible to form the support part 22 and the optical part 29 of the optical part 20 in two distinct injections, for example with two distinct materials. This would result in an optical part that is still one-piece, with a non-separable, non-removable support part 22 of the optical part 29. In this case, these two parts could be made of two distinct materials. Of course, the same material could also be used.
According to yet another manufacturing variant, the support part 22 could be manufactured independently of the optical part, then fixed by any irreversible, non-removable means, for example by gluing or welding, to the optical part 29. Thus , the optical part 20 would remain a one-piece assembly.
In all cases, it is advantageous to manufacture the optical part 20 from one or more plastic materials. Such a plastic material used can be of the thermoplastic type. It can be polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), or polycarbonate.
The optical part 20 can in any case be finalized by the production of conductive tracks 27 on the support surface 23. The production of these conductive tracks 27 calls upon knowledge of plastronics. Metal particles are for example sprayed onto the support surface 23 by a plasma torch. Such an optical part 20 is thus ready for direct mounting of the light-emitting device, without the need for a printed circuit.
In addition, the cover 15 covering the elements of the light-emitting device can be a separate element fixed to the optical part 20. Alternatively, it could form a one-piece assembly with the optical part 20. In addition, the optical part is advantageously fixed on a box within a light module, the box allowing the fixing of such a light module. This fixing can for example be done by clipping. In addition, the cover 15 could be arranged in such a box.
The light module 11 according to the embodiment has been described with an optical part 29 forming a light guide, which makes it possible to guide light by total internal reflection of this light, in the longitudinal direction or optical axis x, from a entry zone facing the light source to a zone positioned towards an end opposite the light source. Such a light guide can be tubular, or have another shape, preferably of constant section, which can be circular, elliptical, rectangular, trapezoidal, etc. Alternatively, the section can vary along the optical axis x. Such a light module is advantageously adapted to form ambient lighting for the passenger compartment of a motor vehicle. The light source or sources are then advantageously of low power, less than or equal to 0.5 W each. Such a light module can thus be mounted inside a motor vehicle at the level of a door panel, or of a dashboard.
Naturally, the concept of the invention is suitable for any other embodiment than the light module described above. Thus, the optical part 29 can be different from a light guide, and could for example be a lens or a reflector. The invention can be implemented outside a motor vehicle, for example within a headlight. In all cases, a light emitting device generates a light beam to an optical part, which transmits the received light and generates an output light beam.
Finalement, l’invention présente les avantages suivants:Finally, the invention has the following advantages:
- Elle permet de se passer d’un circuit imprimé et de réduire le coût d’un module lumineux;It eliminates the need for a printed circuit and reduces the cost of a light module;
- Elle simplifie la fabrication d’un module lumineux, puisqu’il n’y a plus l’étape de fixation d’un circuit imprimé;It simplifies the manufacture of a light module, since there is no longer the step of fixing a printed circuit;
It improves the precision of the assembly, the side chain being reduced by the elimination of the printed circuit. This results in more reliable and precise positioning of the light source, which increases the performance of a light module. This also makes it possible to simplify the associated optical part, for example by reducing the length of a light guide.
