Description
The invention relates to the field of seat sound equipment, in particular for motor vehicle seats. More specifically, the invention relates to a seat headrest comprising integrated loudspeakers.
With the development of connected technologies, more and more services offered on board motor vehicles require the use of the sound system. As a result, it is necessary to restore to the occupants a quality sound reproduction which can be differentiated in the passenger compartment of the vehicle, that is to say different for each occupant. Known public address devices are generally installed in places that are difficult to access, for which maintenance remains problematic. For example, when the loudspeakers are installed in doors, the door panels should be removed to access them. In addition, the acoustic load volume of the loudspeakers is difficult to control. Furthermore, with regard to sound quality, the further the loudspeakers are from the ears of the occupants, the more energy is required for the same perceived power, and the more difficult it is to make the spatialization processing effective.
A headrest is also known comprising an individual proximity sound system. Such a head restraint comprises a rigid support, a trim mounted on the support, with a support part for the back of the occupant's head, and two sound transmission paths, integrated into said trim on either side. other of the support, and each comprising a loudspeaker. Each loudspeaker is oriented towards the area where the head of the occupant of the corresponding seat is located. Although such an arrangement improves the sound quality perceived by the occupant of the seat compared to loudspeakers located in the doors, for example, this arrangement is not however ideal for obtaining a clear separation of the different listening areas (a listening area corresponding to the seat of an occupant).
On estime que pour atteindre ce but avec une qualité sonore satisfaisante, l’écart doit être d’au moins -30 dB.Known solutions do not make it possible to obtain a sufficient difference in sound level between the different zones, especially since a motor vehicle interior has many reflective and diffractive surfaces. With proximity loudspeakers placed in the head restraints, it is estimated that the difference between two listening zones (for example between the two front seats) is of the order of -15dB, which is not sufficient to allow listening to two different sound contents in two different places. It is estimated that to achieve this goal with satisfactory sound quality, the deviation must be at least -30 dB.
The object of the present invention is to remedy the drawbacks of the state of the art, and more particularly those set out above, by proposing a head restraint making it possible to generate for its occupant a "sound bubble", so that the various occupants of neighboring seats can listen to different sound content, with excellent sound quality.
To this end, the invention relates to a seat head restraint, the head restraint comprising a sound reproduction device, the device comprising at least four independent sound sources integrated into the head restraint, the head restraint comprising a face front intended to accommodate the head of an occupant, a rear face located on the side opposite the front face and two side faces joining the front and rear faces, a first pair of sound sources being arranged at the level of the front face, the sources sound of the second pair each being arranged on one of the side faces.
Thus, by providing a head restraint comprising at least four independent sound sources, two of which are arranged on the side faces of the head restraint, the invention makes it possible to very effectively reduce the sounds perceived by the other occupants. The sound sources located on the side faces contribute effectively to controlling the sound field of the other occupants. The invention therefore makes it possible to produce, at the level of each head restraint, a "sound bubble": each passenger is able to benefit from the broadcasting of a different sound content (or silence), without being polluted by the content of other passengers.
In one embodiment, the sound sources of the first and second pairs are arranged symmetrically with respect to a longitudinal axis of the headrest.
In one embodiment, the headrest comprises a third pair of sound sources arranged at the level of the rear face of the headrest.
In one embodiment, the two sound sources arranged at the level of the front face are arranged at the level of a recess formed in the front face.
Dans une réalisation, chaque source sonore comporte au moins un transducteur électroacoustique, tel qu’un haut-parleur .In one embodiment, each sound source comprises at least one electroacoustic transducer, such as a loudspeaker.
The invention also relates to a sound reproduction system, the system comprising at least two head restraints in accordance with that defined above, the system comprising a processor configured to control all the sound sources of each head restraint so as to reproduce sounds audible by the occupant of a corresponding seat and so as to make these same sounds not audible by the occupant of the seat corresponding to the other or to one of the other head restraints.
It will be noted that in the system according to the invention, each sound source contributes to the final result of each listening zone, including the one(s) that must remain silent/calm.
In one embodiment, the system includes an analog or digital filter for each sound source.
The invention also relates to a motor vehicle comprising at least one head restraint as defined above/or a compliant sound reproduction system as defined above.
The present invention will be better understood on reading the following detailed description, made with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:
Figure 1 shows a head restraint according to the invention seen from above. The head restraint 1 comprises a front face 10 and a rear face 12, as well as two side faces 14, 16, that is a left side face 14 and a right side face 16. The front face 10 comprises a recess 18 delimiting a zone support for the head of an occupant of a seat to which the head restraint is attached (not shown). The front face 10 is therefore positioned towards the front of the vehicle when the head restraint is mounted on one of the seats of said vehicle. The central axis perpendicular to the front face 10 constitutes a longitudinal axis of the headrest, this longitudinal axis being parallel to that of the vehicle when the headrest is mounted in a vehicle.
According to the invention, the head restraint 1 comprises at least four independent sound sources, that is to say they can be controlled by separate electrical signals, so as to reproduce different sound signals. In the example of Figure 1, the headrest comprises two pairs of loudspeakers 20, 21, 22, 23. A first pair comprises two proximity loudspeakers 20, 21 which are arranged within the recess 18 so that the proximity loudspeakers 20, 21 are arranged in the immediate vicinity of the ears of an occupant of the corresponding seat. The left proximity loudspeaker 20 and the right proximity loudspeaker 21 are advantageously arranged in the head restraint so as to be oriented towards the position normally occupied by the head of the occupant.
The second pair of loudspeakers comprises two side loudspeakers 22, 23. The left side loudspeaker 22 and the right side loudspeaker 23 are arranged on the respective side faces 14, 16 of the headrest, and facing outward from the head restraint.
Une telle disposition correspond à la disposition du haut-parleur latéral droite 23 de la figure 1.FIG. 3 represents two juxtaposed headrests 3, 4, these being represented in the same arrangement as when they are linked to the front seats of a motor vehicle. Each head restraint defines a listening zone Z1, Z2 corresponding to the zone where the head of an occupant of the corresponding seat is positioned. The headrests 3, 4 of Figure 3 have a general shape identical to that of the headrests of Figures 1 and 2. When such a headrest is equipped with proximity speakers 30, 31 as shown in the FIG. 4a, it appears that, so that the listening zone Z2 of the headrest 4 is not affected by the sound waves emitted by the proximity loudspeakers 30, 31 of the headrest 3, it should place a sound source on the acoustic path of these loudspeakers in the direction of the zone Z2, preferably as close as possible to this zone, in order to control the sound waves perceived at the level of the zone Z2, which is the zone to to treat. As shown in FIG. 4a, this amounts to placing a sound source on the acoustic path Ca (or closest to it), which corresponds to a straight line passing through the two proximity loudspeakers 30, 31. Such a layout corresponds to the layout of the right side loudspeaker 23 of figure 1.
Une telle disposition correspond à la disposition du haut-parleur latéral gauche 22 de la figure 1.FIG. 4b shows how to take into account reflective surfaces, typically constituted by the side windows of the vehicle. In Figure 4b, there is shown a side window 6 arranged on the left side of the headrest 3, which corresponds for example to the headrest of the driver's seat. The reflective surface formed by the side window 6 behaves acoustically like a mirror, which amounts to considering that it is necessary to deal with a virtual sound source, this sound source corresponding to a dummy loudspeaker fitted to a dummy headrest 3' which would be arranged on the other side of the side window 6. Thus, to take account of this virtual sound source and control the sound field perceived by the zone Z1, it is necessary to place a sound source on the acoustic path Cc of this virtual sound source . Such an arrangement corresponds to the arrangement of the left side speaker 22 of Figure 1.
Figure 2 shows an example of head restraint 2 according to the invention, in a configuration with six sound sources. The head restraint 2 of figure 2 is identical to that of figure 1, with the exception of the two additional sound sources which it incorporates. These two sound sources in the example each comprise a rear loudspeaker 24, 25. The rear loudspeakers 24, 25 are arranged on the rear face 12 of the headrest 2, and thus make it possible to process the sound waves emitted to a seat arranged behind the seat on which the headrest 2 depends.
Figure 4c shows a configuration in which the headrests 3, 5 are arranged one behind the other. In such a case, if one is interested in zone Z2, which is the listening zone corresponding to the head restraint 5 of the rear seat, it is necessary to have sound sources on the acoustic paths Cb of the proximity speakers 30, 31 of the headrest 3 corresponding to the seat located in front (or in the immediate vicinity of these acoustic paths). This arrangement thus corresponds to the arrangement of the rear loudspeakers 24, 25 of the headrest 2 in FIG. 2.
The head restraints 1, 2 in accordance with the invention make it possible to create veritable "sound bubbles" for their occupants: within each head restraint, it is possible to reproduce sound content with high quality, without being polluted by the sound content broadcast at the level of the other head restraint(s). Indeed, the advantageous arrangement of the loudspeakers described above, coupled with a suitable control system, makes it possible to obtain, at the level of each head restraint, a sufficient reduction in the sound level coming from a neighboring head restraint, around -30 dB. Such a reduction makes it possible to render inaudible or almost inaudible the sound content coming from a neighboring head restraint. It is then possible, for each occupant of a vehicle equipped with headrests in accordance with the invention, to enjoy quality sound content (or quality silence) without being polluted by the sound content broadcast for the other occupants of the vehicle.
In the sound system according to the invention, each sound source is used to contribute to the creation of sound bubbles, including the sound sources arranged in a head restraint whose occupant does not wish to listen to sound content (this is i.e. wishes to enjoy the best possible silence). It is the superposition of the sound sources of each head restraint in the system which makes it possible to create a sound bubble at the level of each head restraint, to enjoy, as desired, sound content or silence. For example, in the case of FIG. 3, to contribute to the creation of a sound bubble at the level of zone Z1 or Z2, the sound sources fitted to the two head restraints will be put to use, even if one of the occupants want their area to be quiet.
An exemplary embodiment of the invention adapted to a motor vehicle has been described above, but it is understood that the invention applies to other fields and in particular to other types of means of transport.
