Abstract

Un écran polariseur comprend un agencement d’au moins une cellule(s) polarisante(s) (112), électriquement conductrice(s), sélective(s) en fréquence et en polarisation, pour transformer la polarisation de la composante électrique E de l’onde électromagnétique TEM, reçu en polarisation linéaire en une onde électromagnétique de polarisation circulaire. Les quatre murs latéraux (124, 125, 126, 127) de chaque section de guide d’onde (120) formant une cellule polarisante (112) sont chacun ouverts sur toute leur longueur par une fente continue médiane (134, 135, 136, 137), parallèle à la direction de propagation de l’onde électromagnétique incidente, de sorte à former quatre plaques repliées électriquement conductrices. Chaque cellule polarisante (112) inclut des tiges d’interconnexion électriquement conductrices qui interconnectent les murs latéraux et les quatre plaques repliées pour les rendre partiellement ou en totalité solidaires et qui forment une ou plusieurs discontinuités électriques (152), lesquelles sont disposées en extrémités ou à l’intérieur de la section de guide d’onde formant la cellule polarisante et réalisent une ou des charge(s) capacitive(s), inductive(s), ou une ou des résonateur(s) équivalent(s) (L,C) à une inductance et un capacité branchées en parallèle ou en série. Les fentes ouvertes longitudinales des murs latéraux et les discontinuités électriques élémentaires de chaque cellule polarisante comportent des formes géométriques et des dimensions qui réalisent une transmission totale de l’onde incidente, associé à une anisotropie de phase de +90° ou -90° selon les composantes EV et EH.
