L'invention porte sur un essieu (20) pour véhicule automobile (1), notamment essieu (20) coudé arrière, l'essieu (20) comprenant un bras droit (21) et un bras gauche, notamment un bras droit (21) et un bras gauche s'étendant longitudinalement ou sensiblement longitudinalement vers l'arrière d'un tel véhicule automobile (1), une traverse (22) s'étendant transversalement ou sensiblement transversalement entre le bras droit (21) et le bras gauche, caractérisé en ce qu'un premier trou (27) est ménagé dans la traverse (22) côté droit de sorte à faire passer au moins un premier élément de conduction dans la traverse (22), et/ou en ce qu'un deuxième trou est ménagé dans la traverse (22) côté gauche de sorte à faire passer au moins un deuxième élément de conduction dans la traverse (22).
