Circuit électrique d'alimentation d'un réseau de bord (24) d'un véhicule automobile équipé d'un moteur thermique, ce circuit comprenant un alterno-démarreur (16) entraîné par le moteur thermique, travaillant en génératrice et en motorisation, une batterie (2) alimentant l'alterno-démarreur (16) et le réseau de bord (24), et un dispositif de maintien de tension (26) comprenant une capacité (6), ainsi qu'un système de commutation permettant de disposer cette capacité (6) en série avec la batterie (2) ou de shunter cette capacité, ce dispositif de maintien de tension (26) étant disposé en série avec la batterie (2) et le réseau de bord (24), et l'alterno-démarreur (16) étant directement relié aux bornes de cette batterie.
