The method consists of counting presence detections by living room and by time slot; storing this information in a presence detection database (1), to be created by self-learning a normal life habits pattern (2) on the basis of the motion detection averages of the previous days, to store these information in the attendance averages database (3), to apply the calculation of the cumulative normal law for the completed time slot using as input parameters the number of presence detections, the means of presence detections, a difference type, and compare the result to upper and lower thresholds to establish whether there is a break in lifestyle habits requiring the triggering of an alert or warning.
Description
The use of the mathematical algorithm of the cumulative normal law allows the comparison of the data of the ended period (one hour for example) with the average data for this hourly period, with as third parameter the standard deviation whose value acts as an amplifier / attenuator of the result obtained. The result of the algorithm is a value between 0% and 100%. High values like e.g. greater than 95% indicates overactivity, while low values, less than 10% e.g. indicate an under-activity of the monitored person. This analysis is performed for each motion sensor at each hour.
The warning and alert management system analyzes, for the hourly period which has just ended, for each motion sensor, the results of the cumulative normal distribution. The number of values below the minimum threshold (eg 10%) and the number of values above the maximum threshold (eg 95%) are counted. If the total of the number of values above the maximum threshold and below the minimum threshold is "1", then a warning notification is sent to the HELPERS. If this number is greater than or equal to "2", then an alert notification is sent to the CAREGIVERS.
Solution matérielleHardware solution
The hardware solution includes motion sensors (6) whose information is transmitted via the RF433MHz radio protocol to an RF433 - Bluetooth interface box (7), this box is connected to a touch pad at the home of the person being monitored (8), this pad transmits information from the movement sensors via the internet to the database of presence detections located in a shelter (9). The connection between the tablet and the Internet is made either via WIFI, or via a data link on a mobile operator (with a SIM card in the tablet). The processing of this data by the algorithm for detecting a break in lifestyle allows the sending of warnings, alerts as well as the visualization of the activity of the HELPED person via a customer portal for the HELPING person.
ContexteContext
This invention allows the development of a communication, monitoring and caring solution for the elderly (HELPED person) living at home.
The subject of the present invention is the detection of a break in the lifestyle of a person under surveillance, making it possible to trigger a mechanism for alerting CAREGIVERS, in cases such as, for example, a fall or loss of consciousness of the person being monitored ( HELPED) or any event leading to under-activity or over-activity in the home of the HELPED person.
The majority of elderly people living at home are helped by a family member. Supervision can become a burden for CAREGIVERS due to the need to visit the home of the elderly person (DAILY) often on a daily basis. When this monitoring becomes too restrictive for CAREGIVERS, a decision to move to a specialized center is often the only solution.
De plus, l'AIDANT(e) peut consulter le résumé des activités du jour sur son portail client, à fin d'être encore plus rassuré(e).This invention makes it possible to extend the maintenance at home of an elderly person, a consequence of the detection of a break in lifestyle which corresponds to active monitoring at all times of the HELPED person. CAREGIVERS are thus informed within one hour in case the HELPED person encounters a situation which changes their lifestyle. In addition, the ASSISTANT can consult the summary of the day's activities on their customer portal, in order to be even more reassured.
The deployed solution does not require any interaction on the part of the HELPED person with equipment such as a tablet, RF433-Bluetooth interface box, motion sensors. This solution is suitable despite possible visual, hearing or cognitive deficits such as Alzheimer's.
État de l'art actuelState of the art
There are many assistance solutions for the elderly on the market. These solutions are based on an action that triggers an alert mechanism. Trigger actions are, for example, pressing an SOS button worn on a bracelet or a necklace. Some of these bracelets have a fall detection capacity, allowing to refine the alert mechanism.
These mechanisms are suitable for monitoring people who have a sufficient level of cognitive skills, and who have a physical ability to trigger an alert voluntarily, for example by pressing the button of a device attached to the wrist or neck.
These mechanisms are unsuitable in the event of loss of consciousness, in the event of an injury which may hamper the ability of the elderly person to activate the device, or in the event of cognitive limitations such as for example in the millions of Alzheimer's patients who make too much complex the use of a device.
Éléments constituants de la solutionConstituent elements of the solution
La détection de rupture des habitudes de vie est fondée surThe detection of lifestyle breaks is based on
The deployment in the HELPED person of presence sensors in the main living rooms (for example kitchen, living room, bedroom).
The accumulation in the database of presence detections of all the events of the presence sensors
The creation and updating by self-learning of a pattern of normality in the life habits of the HELPED person on the basis of the analysis and algorithmic processing of the events captured in the database.
The application of a mathematical treatment "NORMAL LAW, CUMULATIVE" with as input values
a. The value to be evaluated, corresponding to the measurement of the number of presences in the last period (eg 1 hour), parameter "x"
b. The expected average value for this hourly period, extracted from the presence averages database, parameter "μ"
c. Une valeur d'écart type, paramètre σvs. A standard deviation value, parameter σ
And whose result between 0% and 100% determines the probability that the events of the period measured comply with expectations of lifestyle. On the basis of tests carried out in a real environment, the values considered to be normal are between 10% and 95%.
A decision-making algorithm for warning or alerting CAREGIVERS, depending on the number of output values from the algorithm which will be below the lower threshold (eg 10%) and beyond the upper threshold ( e.g. 95%). A single value in these exception fields triggers a warning, two or more values triggers an alert. These messages are transmitted to the ASSISTANT via messages transmitted over the telephone network (such as, for example, SMS).

A mechanism for analyzing lifestyle habits based on the presence detection database allows the creation of a normality diagram, by calculating the average number of presence per time slot, for each monitored area.
Un nouveau calcul de cette moyenne est effectué à chaque jour sur la base des 7 derniers jours, permettant un auto-apprentissage évolutif des habitudes de vie de la personne AIDÉE.A new calculation of this average is carried out each day on the basis of the last 7 days, allowing an evolutionary self-learning of the lifestyle habits of the HELPED person.
This information is stored in the presence averages database.
For each presence sensor, a calculation is made in order to compare the presence detections of the last time slot with the average of the presence detections for this same time slot. The calculation is carried out with the cumulative normal law in order to determine whether the measured value is within or outside the standard. This set of calculations is detailed in the next chapter.
Utilisation de la « LOI NORMALE » pour le calcul des situations de rupture des habitudes de vieUse of the "NORMAL LAW" for the calculation of the situations of disruption of life habits
Le principe de la « LOI NORMALE »The principle of "NORMAL LAW"
Rappel :Reminder :
In probability theory and statistics, the normal law is one of the most suitable probability laws for modeling natural phenomena arising from several random events. It is linked to many mathematical objects including Brownian motion, white Gaussian noise or other laws of probability. It is also called Gaussian law, Gauss law or LaplaceGauss law from the names of Laplace (1749-1827) and Gauss (1777-1855), two mathematicians, astronomers and physicists who studied it.
More formally, it is an absolutely continuous probability law which depends on two parameters: its expectation, a real number denoted by μ, and its standard deviation, a positive real number denoted by o.
La LOI NORMALE se décline en deux versions, une première qui se trouve ci-dessous, et dont le résultat est une courbe gaussienne, et la seconde qui est retenue dans cette demande de brevet, qui correspond à l'intégrale de l'équation ci-dessous, entre -infini et X, appellée LOI NORMALE CUMULÉENORMAL LAW is available in two versions, the first which is found below, and the result of which is a Gaussian curve, and the second which is used in this patent application, which corresponds to the integral of the equation ci below, between -infinity and X, called CUMULATIVE NORMAL LAW

Λχ· »*-σ)= 7S e * ’Λ χ · ”* - σ) = 7S e * '
Voir Courbe gaussienne de la Loi Normale en Figure 3See Gaussian Curve of the Normal Law in Figure 3
La Loi Normale Cumulée est représentée par l'équation suivante :The Cumulative Normal Law is represented by the following equation:
/(χ-μ)2\ /(x, μ, σ) = -== e \ 2σ* ) ν2πσ — OO/ (χ-μ) 2 \ / (x, μ, σ) = - == e \ 2σ *) ν2πσ - OO

8.1 LOI NORMALE CUMULÉE pour déterminer la rupture des habitudes de vie8.1 CUMULATIVE NORMAL LAW to determine the break in lifestyle
Voir Figure 5 - Exemple de distribution de la Loi Normale CumuléeSee Figure 5 - Example of distribution of the Cumulative Normal Law
Use of the variables of the Cumulative Normal Law • x corresponds to the value measured for the current period, extracted from the presence detection database.
Une valeur inférieure augmente la sensibilité du système de détection, une valeur supérieure réduit la sensibilité du système de détection.• μ corresponds to the average value of the previous days for this same time slot, extracted from the presence averages database • σ corresponds to the standard deviation, (defined as 5 in the examples provided), corresponding to the average of the expected variations in detection. A lower value increases the sensitivity of the detection system, a higher value reduces the sensitivity of the detection system.
8.2 Analyse, traitement8.2 Analysis, processing
The result of the calculation in this example where the expected average is 10 movements indicates that if we recorded 10 movements, the result of the equation will be 0.5. Using a standard deviation of 5, we can determine a range of normal activity as well as two ranges of abnormal activity. In this example, the range of abnormal activity has been defined between 0 and 10%, and between 90% and 100%.
Thus, the probability values higher than 90%, and lower than 10%, correspond to the triggering thresholds making it possible to conclude that life habits have broken down.
La LOI NORMALE, version cumulée, est retenue comme base pour le calcul de la détection de rupture des habitudes de vie.NORMAL LAW, cumulative version, is used as the basis for the calculation of the detection of breaks in lifestyle.
L'équation de la LOI NORMALE CUMULÉE est calculée en utilisant comme paramètres :The equation of the CUMULATIVE NORMAL LAW is calculated using as parameters:
The result is stored in the database of the results of the calculation of the cumulative normal distribution.
An algorithm identifies by time slot the values included in the ranges of abnormal activity.
This algorithm uses the following tags in order to make a decision> a sensitivity variable adjustable by the user, making it possible to determine the size of the zones of abnormal activity upper and lower o abnormal.lower, default value 10% o abnormal.superior , default value 95%> a warning trigger threshold variable which determines the number of abnormal activity values required to trigger a warning. Default value: 1> an alert trigger variable o which determines the number of abnormal activity conditions required before triggering an alert (default value: 2)
The algorithm performs the following calculation, for the time slot which has just ended:
Counting the number of values in the abnormal activity zone
Comparison between this number and the threshold determined by the user

The person being monitored, a person for whom monitoring can control well-being. This person is often vulnerable because of their age, disability, illness, or any other condition that justifies monitoring.
AIDANTHELPING
A person who controls the welfare of a HELP, often by family descent, or through a professional service. This person is often a family member who takes care of, for example, an elderly parent.
A notification allowing a CAREGIVER to be informed of an abnormal situation in the HELPED person. The alert mechanism can be a notification in the form of a text message (SMS) or notification within an application, to one or more simultaneous CAREERS.
A device that detects movement within its operating perimeter, usually a few meters.
A set of procedures and algorithms that detect changes in a person's lifestyle compared to a pattern of normality, based on a probability analysis according to the mathematical model of CUMULATIVE NORMAL LAW.
The cumulative normal law corresponds to the integral of the normal law whose mathematical result is adapted to the detection of behavioral modifications.
