L'invention concerne un évaporateur de véhicule automobile, comportant : - un ensemble réservoir ayant une boite collectrice supérieure (2a) et une boite collectrice inférieure (2b), - une pluralité de tubes (5), notamment de tubes extrudés, connectés fluidiquement, à leurs extrémités, aux boites collectrices, - une pluralité d'ailettes (6) disposées entre les tubes, en contact avec ces tubes, les ailettes ayant une largeur (W), mesurée perpendiculairement à un plan s'étendant de l'une des boites collectrices à l'autre, comprise entre 26 mm et 32 mm, et les ailettes présentant un pas d'ailettes (Fp) compris entre 1.3 mm et 1.5 mm, correspondant à un ratio X= Fp/W compris entre 0.040 et 0.058.
