Description
The present invention relates to the technical field of rotary cutting tools used in household appliances for culinary preparation and / or in culinary preparation accessories. The present invention relates more particularly to rotary cutting tools comprising a drive hub from which extend one or more cutting blades. The present invention relates in particular, but not exclusively, to rotary cutting tools used with stationary blades for cutting food into sticks or cubes. It is known from WO2015 / 040343 a rotary cutting tool comprising a drive hub and two cutting blades extending laterally from a lower portion of the drive hub. An upper portion of the drive hub has a gripping area including an upper peripheral flange. To lift the rotary cutting tool, the user can grasp the upper peripheral flange laterally. An object of the present invention is to improve the safe handling of a rotary cutting tool of the aforementioned type.
This object is achieved with a rotary cutting tool having a drive hub and at least one cutting blade extending laterally from a lower portion of the drive hub, an upper portion of the drive hub having a upper peripheral flange forming at least one gripping area, as spaced apart lateral ribs extend below the upper peripheral flange to form lateral abutments providing gripping spaces. The lateral stops limit the risk of slipping fingers while gripping the drive hub. The risk of injury when handling the rotary cutting tool is reduced.
Advantageously, the rotary cutting tool comprises at least two opposite gripping spaces. The user can thus grasp the drive hub between two opposite fingers. Alternatively, the rotary cutting tool may include in particular three gripping spaces distributed around the upper part of the drive hub. According to an advantageous embodiment, the rotary cutting tool comprises at least two cutting blades extending laterally from the lower part of the drive hub. This arrangement facilitates the balancing of the rotary cutter and also helps to facilitate the handling of the rotary cutter. Advantageously then, the rotary cutting tool comprises two cutting blades arranged oppositely with respect to the drive hub. This arrangement provides a balanced rotary cutting tool while minimizing the weight of the rotary cutting tool.
Advantageously, the rotary cutting tool comprises two opposite gripping spaces each arranged between two cutting blades. This arrangement makes it possible to move the gripping spaces away from the cutting parts of the cutting blades. Advantageously, the rotary cutting tool comprises two opposite gripping spaces each arranged above one of the cutting blades. This arrangement also allows to move the gripping spaces of the cutting parts of the cutting blades. Advantageously, the rotary cutting tool comprises two opposite gripping spaces delimited each by two spaced lateral ribs 25 extending parallel from the drive hub. This arrangement allows better lateral protection of the fingers of the user. According to one embodiment, the or at least one of the cutting blades has a leading edge extending away from a lower end of the drive hub. Such a protruding leading edge has a greater hazard than a flat leading edge disposed on a bearing surface. According to one embodiment, the upper peripheral flange is arranged at an upper end of the drive hub. This arrangement makes it possible to limit the overall height of the drive hub. In one embodiment, a peripheral ring surrounds the lower portion of the drive hub and the cutter blade (s) connects (s) the lower portion of the drive hub to the peripheral ring.
According to one embodiment, the drive hub has a through axial passage. This arrangement helps to widen the section of the upper part of the drive hub having the gripping spaces. Advantageously then, the rotary cutting tool comprises a drive member arranged in the axial through passage. This arrangement 15 limits the overall height of the drive hub. Advantageously then, the drive member extends at least partially in the upper part of the drive hub. This arrangement helps to widen the section of the upper part of the drive hub having the gripping spaces.
- La figure 2 est une vue en perspective de dessus de l'exemple de réalisation de l'outil de coupe rotatif selon l'invention illustré sur la figure 1.Advantageously, the height of the upper part of the drive hub is less than the distance between two adjacent lateral ribs forming one of the gripping spaces. Advantageously, the rotary cutting tool comprises between four and eight spaced lateral ribs, and preferably four spaced lateral ribs 25. These provisions make it possible to simplify the production of the rotary cutting tool. The invention will be better understood from the study of an exemplary embodiment of a rotary cutting tool according to the invention, taken in no way limiting, illustrated in the accompanying figures, in which: FIG. a top view of an exemplary embodiment of a rotary cutting tool according to the invention. FIG. 2 is a perspective view from above of the exemplary embodiment of the rotary cutting tool according to the invention illustrated in FIG. 1.
The rotary cutting tool 1 illustrated in FIGS. 1 and 2 is for example intended to be used in an apparatus or a food preparation accessory of the type described in the document WO2015 / 040343. The rotary cutting tool 1 according to the invention comprises a driving hub 10 and at least one cutting blade 2 extending laterally from a lower portion 11 of the drive hub 10. An upper portion 12 the drive hub 10 has an upper peripheral flange 20 forming at least one gripping area. According to a preferred embodiment, the rotary cutting tool 1 comprises at least two cutting blades 2 extending laterally from the lower portion 11 of the drive hub 10. The rotary cutting tool 1 thus comprises at least two cutting blades 2 arranged around the drive hub 10. In the exemplary embodiment illustrated in FIGS. 1 and 2, two cutting blades 2 extend laterally from the lower part 11 of the hub 20 The drive hub 10 extends between the two cutting blades 2. The two cutting blades 2 are arranged oppositely with respect to the drive hub 10. As best seen in FIG. the cutting blades 2 have a leading edge 3 extending at a distance from a lower end 13 of the drive hub 10. The cutting blades 2 have a trailing edge 4 extending at the level of the lower end 13 of the drive hub 10. L The cutting blades 2 thus form a pressure wedge making it possible to cut food slices in order to press them against static cutting blades, in particular against a cutting gate.
A circumferential ring 5 surrounds the lower portion 11 of the drive hub 10. The cutting blades 2 connect the lower portion 11 of the drive hub 10 to the peripheral ring 5. The upper peripheral flange 20 is arranged in a upper end 14 of the drive hub 10, to reduce the overall height of the drive hub 10. As shown in Figures 1 and 2, the drive hub 10 has a through axial passage 15. The rotary cutting tool 1 comprises a drive member 16 arranged in the axial through passage 15. The drive member 16 extends at least partially in the upper portion 12 of the drive hub 10. As visible on 2, the driving member 16 extends mainly in the upper part 12 of the drive hub 10. More particularly according to the invention, spaced lateral ribs 21 extend below the upper peripheral loller 20 to form lateral stops 22 forming gripping spaces 23. In the embodiment illustrated in Figures 1 and 2, the rotary cutting tool 1 has four spaced lateral ribs 21. Each lateral rib 21 thus forms two lateral abutments 22 forming gripping spaces 23. In the embodiment illustrated in FIGS. 1 and 2, the rotary cutting tool 1 comprises at least two opposite gripping spaces 23. The rotary cutting tool 1 comprises two opposite gripping spaces 23 each arranged between two cutting blades 2. Moreover, as can be clearly seen in FIG. 1, these opposite gripping spaces 23 are delimited each by two spaced lateral ribs 21. extending parallel from the drive hub 10. The rotary cutting tool 1 also has two opposite gripping spaces 23 each arranged above one of the cutting blades 2.
As is clearly visible in FIG. 2, the height of the upper portion 12 of the drive hub 10 is smaller than the distance between two adjacent lateral ribs 21 forming one of the gripping spaces 23. As a variant, two adjacent lateral ribs 21 do not necessarily provide a gripping space 23. Each lateral rib 21 thus forms a single lateral abutment providing a gripping space. In other words, two adjacent lateral ribs 21 may be too close together for a user to place a finger between these two lateral ribs 21. The rotary cutting tool 1 may then preferably comprise between four and eight lateral ribs. 21 spaced apart. The rotary cutting tool illustrated in Figures 1 and 2 is used as follows. The user grasps the rotary cutting tool 1 by placing the thumb in one of the gripping spaces 23, for example in one of the gripping spaces 23 arranged between the two cutting blades 2, and one or two fingers in the opposite gripping space 23. The lateral stops 22 make it possible to limit the movement of the fingers in the event of slippage on the gripping zone, and contribute to reducing the risk of injury when handling the rotary cutting tool 1.
Alternatively, the rotary cutting tool 1 may comprise a single cutting blade 2, or more than two cutting blades 2, in particular three or four cutting blades 2. Alternatively, the cutting tool rotary 1 does not necessarily have two gripping spaces 23 opposite. The rotary cutting tool 1 may include in particular three gripping spaces 23 distributed around the drive hub 10, allowing for example a gripping between the thumb, index and middle finger. The present invention is not limited to the embodiment described, but encompasses many modifications within the scope of the claims.
