Description
Appareil de stockage thermoélectrique saisonnier Le dispositif objet de l'invention vise la valorisation des énergies intermittentes. Le dispositif objet de l'invention permet plus particulièrement, aux côtés du stockage de l'énergie électrique, permet d'apporter une solution performante, décentralisée, réactive et potentiellement peu coûteuse à la question du stockage. Couplée ou non à des appareils de production de chauffage ou à des sources d'énergies renouvelables, cette solution permet de démultiplier les points de stockage jusqu'à une échelle domestique, et de contribuer ainsi à lisser efficacement les pics de consommation électriques. A l'heure actuelle, la France, l'Europe et le reste du monde sont confrontés à la nécessité de mettre en mouvement l'indispensable transition énergétique qui vise à substituer aux énergies fossiles des énergies renouvelables et à oeuvrer pour une meilleure efficacité énergétique. L'analyse à l'échelle de notre pays des leviers d'économie d'énergie, de meilleure efficacité et d'utilisation des énergies renouvelables montre que le secteur du bâtiment, et en particulier le parc existant, est l'un des enjeux majeurs de cette transition énergétique. A la croisée du monde du bâtiment et de l'énergie, un grand champ d'action se dessine La transition énergétique implique une augmentation de la production d'énergie renouvelable intermittente, et à l'inverse une diminution nécessaire des consommations énergétiques, notamment dans les bâtiments, premiers consommateurs d'énergie. L'électricité est la plus complexe des énergies à stocker, là où la chaleur est à l'inverse l'une des plus simples. Les systèmes de stockage bien connus de la chaleur ont été inventés dès la fin du XIX' siècle, avec l'apparition de la bouteille isotherme. Le dispositif objet de l'invention permet de stocker de l'électricité sous forme de chaleur en utilisant un volume de stockage constitué de mousse d'aluminium et de matériaux à changement de phase (MCP). Le dispositif objet de l'invention est constitué d'un volume de stockage où la mousse d'aluminium joue le rôle d'échangeur entre la façade de l'appareil et le matériau à changement de phase. L'appareil est par ailleurs équipé d'un ensemble de fonctions intelligentes (détection de présence, d'ouverture de fenêtre, auto-programmation etc.) pour optimiser les besoins de chaleur, et donc le déstockage d'énergie. La technologie des matériaux à changement de phase (MCP) est déjà utilisée dans des applications de stockage d'énergie, mais elle présente toujours le même inconvénient, à savoir une mauvaise conductivité thermique des matériaux qui pénalisent les échanges et donc la performance du système. Un système classique de stockage avec des MCP est donc un système peu 3024214 2 réactif et lent, ce qui implique de les utiliser dans des petits volumes. Associés à de la mousse d'aluminium, très bonne conductrice de la chaleur et de l'électricité tout en offrant par sa structure alvéolaire un support pour intégrer les MCP, cette solution permet de mettre en oeuvre dans un volume plus important un système de stockage d'énergie dense et beaucoup 5 plus réactif. Le système transmet sa chaleur dans la pièce d'habitation principalement par rayonnement, source de confort pour les occupants, plutôt que par convection. Cette dernière est en effet limitée par un dispositif mobile qui bloque, ou au contraire favorise la convection en fonction du niveau de charge de l'appareil.
10 L'appareil objet de l'invention étant de grande taille, seul un matériau conducteur comme la mousse d'aluminium peut homogénéiser les températures au sein de l'appareil. Mais la fabrication de ce matériau dans des ensembles de grandes dimensions est aujourd'hui délicate.
15 Selon un exemple de réalisation le volume intérieur utile du dispositif objet de l'invention est d'environ 40 dm3, rempli de mousse d'aluminium et de matériaux à changement de phase. Les premiers essais indiquent qu'un taux de porosité de la mousse de 90 % est optimal. Le MCP retenu est un matériau organique, avec une température de fusion légèrement supérieure à 90°C. Compte tenu du volume de MCP, et en négligeant l'inertie de l'aluminium, 20 la quantité d'énergie stockée, pour un taux de charge de 100 %, est de l'ordre de 4 kWh. Il ne s'agit que de la quantité d'énergie stockée par chaleur latente, donc en négligeant l'énergie de la chaleur sensible du verre et du MCP. La quantité d'énergie réelle stockée est donc supérieure à ces 4 kWh, ce qui donne une marge technique appréciable. La charge maximale est obtenue même lors des périodes de grand froid, car la puissance 25 électrique de l'appareil (2000 W) est supérieure à sa puissance thermique, d'environ 1000 W. En dimensionnant une pièce d'habitation possédant une déperdition thermique à -7°C de 800 W, l'appareil peut stocker environ 5 h d'énergie. La quantité d'énergie restituée dans la 3024214 3 pièce dépend de la température du noyau, ainsi que de la position du volet mobile de convection et du fonctionnement, ou non, d'une turbine additionnelle. La conception même de l'appareil permet d'obtenir une déclinaison modulaire du système, en envisageant un volume de stockage moindre, dans un appareil plus petit, ou à l'inverse 5 plus volumineux, dans un grand appareil. Les caractéristiques de la mousse d'aluminium permettent alors d'obtenir une homogénéité de température de fonctionnement du système, quelles que soient les dimensions de l'appareil. L'électricité représente 23 % de l'énergie finale consommée en France. C'est donc une énergie minoritaire, mais les autres énergies (principalement les produits pétroliers et le gaz) 10 se stockent assez facilement. Plutôt que de stocker directement l'énergie électrique, le système objet de l'invention la transforme en chaleur, avec un rendement de 100%. Le système de stockage est ensuite volontairement non isolé thermiquement, puisque les déperditions thermiques sont commandées pour pouvoir chauffer une pièce. La notion de stockage apparait clairement car le système possède une capacité d'accumulation de 15 plusieurs heures. Cette capacité est rendue possible par l'emploi de matériaux légers, compacts et possédant une grande densité énergétique. Les systèmes de stockage thermique de l'électricité présentent par ailleurs un fort intérêt à l'échelle européenne, puisque des projets de recherche sur cette thématique ont lieu au Royaume-Uni, en Irlande et en Allemagne.
20 La mousse d'aluminium est un matériau léger, innovant et présentant d'excellentes propriétés thermiques. Il présente en plus un faible impact environnemental car il peut être obtenu à partir d'aluminium recyclé, et est lui-même 100% recyclable. Le MCP choisi est par ailleurs d'origine 100% naturelle. - REVENDICATIONS1. Un stockage décentralisé présente les intérêts suivants : L'électricité transitant sur le réseau moyenne tension génère des pertes très importantes (près de 35 TWh en 2011). Un stockage diffus permet de limiter les transits d'électrons sur les lignes moyenne et basse tension, donc les pertes Les SETS fonctionnent avec un rendement de 100 % Contrairement à des moyens de stockage classiques centralisés, qui nécessitent d'une part l'acceptabilité des populations et d'autre part des autorisations administratives lourdes, le dispositif objet de l'invention se déploie dans le parc de logement existant, sans autre contrainte que de posséder un logement performant thermiquement, ce qui est, à terme, l'objectif des pouvoirs publics. La quantité d'énergie stockée dépend de l'inertie thermique du système, du niveau de déperdition de l'appareil, mais aussi des besoins de chaleur du logement. Or pour les logements possédant une isolation renforcée, les quantités d'énergie nécessaires sont faibles, et donc la durée du stockage augmente mécaniquement. Ces appareils trouveront donc tout naturellement leur place dans les bâtiments à isolation renforcée de la future réglementation thermique 2020, ou dans ceux, déjà très performants thermiquement, de la RT 2012.
- 2. Enfin, le système ne présente un intérêt que lorsque des besoins de chaleurs existent, c'est-à-dire pendant la période hivernale. Mais cette période coïncide avec les fortes demandes énergétiques, ainsi que les plus hauts niveaux de production d'énergie éolienne intermittente, soit des besoins de flexibilité et d'équilibre offre/demande très élevés. C'est précisément lors des pics de consommation que le système présente le plus d'intérêt. En effet plus les températures sont basses, plus les besoins de chaleur augmentent, et plus la quantité de chaleur stockable augmente. A l'inverse, en mi-saison, il est inutile de surchauffer un logement, la quantité de chaleur stockée sera donc moindre, mais les besoins en flexibilité offre/demande également. Pour finir, et contrairement à d'autres systèmes de stockage par chaleur latente, celui se fait à basse température, ce qui présente des avantages évidents en matière de sécurité, en plus d'en faire un système efficace et sain de chauffage d'une pièce. Le dispositif objte de l'invention peut se déployer en lieu et place d'appareils de chauffage déjà existants, à la condition que les logements répondent à des standards élevés en matière d'isolation thermique, pour offrir un confort optimal.

Le concept est par ailleurs totalement exportable dans des pays possédant un mix électrique peu carboné (Norvège, Autriche, Islande etc.) et/ou des pays possédant des forts niveaux d'intégration d'énergies renouvelables intermittentes (Allemagne, Espagne etc.). Le potentiel commercial de cette solution technologique est donc bien réel.
