The spring is allowed to ensure the projection and closing of a lace (3) on the leg of an animal i.e. fox, by utilizing a guidance and tightening element (14) when the spring is slackened. The notch is provided at an end of the pallet. A pressure on the pallet is provided so as to lock the leg of the animal. An end is provided in the notch for providing the spring in a locking position.

Description

The present invention relates to the production of a lace trap for the capture of live animals. The majority of lace traps currently used for catching canids are jaw traps. Their first objective is to tighten the animal 's paw between the jaws. The animal thus captured will attempt to subtract its leg from the trap and by these retraction movements cause the tightening of a lace. Other models use the projection of a removable arm which during the relaxation will cause the tightening of the lace on the leg of the animal.

Both systems have drawbacks, the jaw trap often causes set faults because the animal sometimes manages to remove its leg from the trap before the lace is closed. It is a trap that requires some experience to achieve good efficiency. The system with a launcher arm is reliable but it is very bulky. This disadvantage does not make its installation always easy and can facilitate its detection by very suspicious animals. The device according to the invention attempts to overcome these disadvantages. It consists of a base plate, to which is attached a spring, whose function is to tighten a lace around the animal 's leg to capture it. On the same base plate is fixed by a bolt, serving as a hinge, a pallet comprising a notch whose function is to maintain the tensioned spring when the trap is armed, and to ensure the triggering of the trap when an animal poses its paw on the pallet. In the implementation, a lace provided with a loop and a noose system associated with a nonreturn device is deposited on the spring and forms a circle around the pallet. The part of the lace opposite to the noose and having a loop is introduced into a guiding and clamping device attached to the spring. The loop located at the end of the lace is introduced into a ring in the shape of a pigtail itself being the continuity of a metal rod.

This ring, extended by a rod is pressed into the ground through a drilling of the base plate, and thus ensures a point of attachment of the lace to the trap. A retention system of the animal is connected to the trap by the ring ring described above. The system is completed by a safety device fixed on the base plate and protecting the user in the event of a handling error. The accompanying drawings illustrate the invention. Figure 1 shows the armed trap with its lace.

Figure 2a shows the trigger pallet support and the trap safety system, it is characterized in that this support is welded to the base plate of the trap. Figure 2b, variant of Figure 2a is characterized in that the support of the release pallet and the security system, is performed after cutting the base plate and folding thereof. Figure 3 illustrates the device for securing the trap. FIG. 4a shows the pallet, made by welding two metal sheets, one constituting the point of support of the leg of the animal and the other part, welded to the preceding one making it possible to produce the support and the point of attachment of the whole to the base plate. Figure 4b, a variant of the previous one, shows the pallet and its support made in one piece by cutting and folding a metal sheet. Figure 5 shows the device for attaching the lace to the trap and to the retention device of the animal after its capture.

With reference to these drawings the device mainly comprises a base plate (1) supporting a spring (2), a pallet (11) and a security system (10). The spring (2) is fixed on the base plate (1) by a bolt (4). When the trap is armed, the lace (3) rests on the branches of the spring (2) and forms a noose around a pallet (11). During setting, this lace is kept locked in a tight position by a non-return lock (15). The trap is triggered by the pressure of the leg of the animal on a pallet (11). The support of this pallet on which is made a notch (18) holds the spring (2) in the extended position. When pressing the leg of the animal on the pallet (11) 1 'notch (18) made on the support of the pallet releases the spring (2) which can then relax suddenly. When triggering, said lace (3), secured to the base plate (1) by the rod (6) driven into the ground by the hole (5), is projected via the branches of the spring (2). ) to grip the paw of the animal, thus ensuring its capture. The pallet (11) is fixed on the support (7) of the base plate, by a bolt positioned in the bores (9) thereby providing a hinge and making this pallet integral with the base plate. The lace (3) is guided during the relaxation of the spring by a guiding and clamping device (14), comprising a tab on which is made a groove opening on a bore. This tab is fixed by welding on the spring. The lace (3) is introduced into the bore after passing into the groove. As the spring relaxes, the guiding and clamping device (14) abuts an anti return lock (15) and closes the noose of the lace (3) on the leg of the animal. The other end of the lace has a loop (17), which is inserted into the ring of the fastening system (6) which is pushed into the ground through the hole (5) of the base plate. This attachment system consists of the rod (6) terminated at one end by disjoint turns in the shape of a pigtail thus allowing the passage of the lace (3). This rod (6) has a dual function, the first allowing a point of attachment of the lace to the trap, so that the noose can close properly on the leg of the animal, and the second, to ensure the connection between the lace and the ground securement device of the animal (16) when the animal is captured. A security system consisting of a hook (10) is fixed on the support (7) of the base plate by means of a bolt passed through the bores (8). When the trap is in the process of being armed, or when it is armed, this hook makes it possible to keep the spring taut and thus protect the user against any manipulation error. The device described above will find a preferred application for the capture of canines and particularly that of foxes.
