Description
The present invention relates to the field of rolling bearings, in particular bearings with ball bearings used in the electrical directions of motor vehicles. More particularly, the invention relates to the ball retaining cages providing a circumferential spacing between the balls for such rolling bearings.
An electrical steering of a motor vehicle generally comprises an electromechanical actuator located on the steering column or on the lower assembly which comprises mechanical members intended to ensure the angular positioning of the steering wheels of the vehicle. The electromechanical actuator comprises a rotary electric motor whose shaft is supported by at least one four-contact ball bearing rolling bearing device, directly or via a ball screw system. The rolling bearing generally comprises an inner ring, an outer ring, each ring being provided with two raceways, and a row of rolling elements, generally balls, disposed between the four raceways of the rings. Document FR 2 921 451 discloses ball retaining cages for rolling bearings made of synthetic material, comprising cells for housing the balls. The cells are separated by claws arranged in pairs, opposite a heel. Such restraining cages are entirely satisfactory in many applications. However, in applications with low rotation speed or for which the direction of rotation is reversed abruptly, this type of cage causes various difficulties. Indeed, under the effect of the loading of the balls, the cage deforms strongly and comes into contact with the inner ring, which causes its degradation or destruction.
In addition, during a change of direction of the load applied to the rolling bearing, such as when turning the wheels of a vehicle equipped with an electrical steering system as described above when its driver performs maneuvers to the left and to the right to park the vehicle the cage is also strongly deformed or destroyed. The present invention therefore aims to overcome these disadvantages. More particularly, the present invention aims to provide a cage for rolling bearing little deformable, compact space, and ensuring a good distribution of stress on the cage. The present invention also aims to provide a cage allowing large games of the balls in the cells of the cage while having a low friction between the cage and the rolling elements. The invention relates to a cage for electric steering bearing intended to ensure the circumferential spacing of balls, comprising a plurality of first cells provided with means for axially retaining the cage on a ball and a plurality of second cells devoid of means. axial retention of the cage on a ball. Each of the first cells has with a ball housed in the first cell corresponding to a first axial clearance, a first radial clearance and a first circumferential clearance, and each of the second cells has with a ball housed in the second cell corresponding a second axial clearance , a second radial clearance and a second circumferential clearance. Thus, thanks to the presence of games between the cells of the cage and the balls, the interaction between the cage and the balls is reduced. In addition, the balls are movable relative to each other thus reducing the risk of unforeseen deformation in case of opposing movements of two adjacent balls, for example during a steering wheel movement during parking of the motor vehicle.
Advantageously, each of the first radial, axial and circumferential clearances is between 0.4% and 1.2% of the pitch diameter passing through the center of the balls, preferably between 0.56% and 1.14% of the pitch diameter passing through the center of the balls, for example equal to 0.78% of the original diameter passing through the center of the balls. According to one embodiment, each of the second radial, axial and circumferential clearances is between 0.4% and 1.6% of the pitch diameter passing through the center of the balls, preferably between 0.56% and 1.54% of the pitch diameter passing through the center of the balls. for example equal to 1.14% of the pitch diameter passing through the center of the balls. Each first cell may be separated from a first cell by a single second cell. Advantageously, the first cells are provided with substantially spherical walls allowing the cage to be axially retained by the balls and the second cells are provided with substantially cylindrical walls. According to one embodiment, the cage comprises an annular bead extended axially by projecting portions defining between them the cells, each projecting portion comprising a claw whose free end extends in the circumferential direction towards the claw of the adjacent protruding portion to form one of the first cells, and a cylindrical protuberance forming with the cylindrical protuberance of the adjacent projecting portion, one of the second cells. The cage is for example made of synthetic material, preferably of polymeric material. According to a second aspect, the invention relates to a rolling bearing comprising an outer ring, an inner ring each comprising two raceways, a row of balls arranged between the rolling paths forming a rolling bearing with four points of contact, and a cage as described above.
La présente invention sera mieux comprise à la lecture de la description de quelques modes de réalisation, donnés à titre d'exemples nullement limitatifs et illustrés sur les dessins annexés : - la figure 1 est une vue en coupe axiale d'un palier à roulement selon l'invention; - les figures 2, 3, 4 et 5 sont des vues en coupe respectivement suivant les axes II-II, IV-IV et V-V de la figure 1 ; - la figure 6 est une vue en perspective d'une cage selon la figure 1.Advantageously, a first point of contact between a ball and the outer ring forms a first angle with respect to the radial axis of symmetry passing through the center of the balls and a second point of contact between a ball and the inner ring forms a second angle. relative to the axis of radial symmetry passing through the center of the balls, the difference between the first and second angles being at most 4 °. According to a third aspect, the invention relates to an electric motor vehicle steering comprising at least one rolling bearing as described above. The present invention will be better understood on reading the description of some embodiments, given as non-limiting examples and illustrated in the accompanying drawings: FIG. 1 is a view in axial section of a rolling bearing according to the invention; - Figures 2, 3, 4 and 5 are sectional views respectively along the axes II-II, IV-IV and V-V of Figure 1; FIG. 6 is a perspective view of a cage according to FIG.
The rolling bearing, axial axis X-X, referenced 1 as a whole in Figures 1 to 4, is intended to be mounted in a steering column of a motor vehicle. As illustrated in Figures 1 and 2, the rolling bearing 1 comprises an outer ring 2, an inner ring 3, a row of rolling elements 4, such as balls, a cage 5 for maintaining the circumferential spacing. 4. The inner ring 3 is in the form of a ring of generally rectangular cross section having a small radial thickness provided on its outer surface with two toroidal raceways 3a, 3b. The outer ring 2, similar to the inner ring 3 comprises on its internal bore, two toroidal raceways 2a, 2b. The inner and outer rings 3, 2 have radial front surfaces 3b, 3c, 2b, 2c substantially aligned and can each be made in one piece by machining a piece of steel. Each ball 4 is in contact with the four bearing paths 2a, 2b, 3a, 3b made on the inner and outer rings 2 and 3. A first point of contact Pi between a ball 4 and a first race 2a of the outer ring 2 forms a first angle α 1 with respect to the radial axis of symmetry YY passing through the center of the balls 4. A second point of contact P2 between a ball 4 and a first race 3b of the inner ring 3 forms a second angle a2 with respect to the radial axis of symmetry YY passing through the center of the balls 4. A third point of contact P3 between a ball 4 and a second raceway 2b of the outer ring 2 forms a third angle a3 with respect to the radial axis of symmetry YY passing through the center of the balls 4. A fourth point of contact P4 between a ball 4 and a second race 3a of the inner ring 3 forms a fourth angle a4 with respect to the radial axis of symmetry YY passing through the center of the balls 4. The difference between the first and second angles ai and a2, and between the third and fourth angles a3 and a4 is not more than 4 ° in order to allow the balls to be as much as possible in permanent contact with the four tracks defined by the inner and outer rings of the bearing. The cage 5 is arranged radially between the outer and inner rings 2, 3. The cage 5 comprises a circular annular portion 6 disposed axially on one side of the balls 4, forming an annular bead, and projecting portions 7 or separating fingers extending axially from the annular heel 6. The projecting parts 7 are integral with the annular heel 7 and delimit between them the cells 8, 9 in which the balls 4 are arranged.
The cage 5 comprises a plurality of first cells 8 provided with axial retention means of the cage 5 on a ball 4 and a plurality of second cells 9 devoid of axial retention means of the cage 5 on a ball 4. Each first cell 8 is separated from a first cell 8 by a second cell 9. The first cells 8 are thus regularly distributed circumferentially to ensure regular axial retention of the cage 5 on the balls 4. The first cells 8 are provided with substantially spherical walls and the second cells 9 are provided with substantially cylindrical walls. A first cell 8 is separated from a second adjacent cell by a projecting portion 7. Each projecting portion 7 comprises a claw 8a directed radially opposite the annular bead 6 and whose free end extends in the direction circumferentially in the direction of the claw 8a of the projecting portion 7 adjacent to form one of the first cells 8 of substantially spherical shape tending to envelop a ball 4. In other words, the two claws 8a associated with one of the first cells 8 extend in the direction of one another and are capable of ensuring the axial retention of the cage 5 on the ball 4 disposed in said first cell 8. The cage 5 is retained axially on the row of balls 4 by the claws 8a of the first cells 8. Each first cell 8 being separated from a first cell 8 by a second cell 9, the first cells 8 are thus regularly distributed circumferentially to r ensure a regular axial retention of the cage 5 on the balls 4. The concave inner surface of the claw 8a is part of the spherical surface 7a of the first cell 8. Each projecting portion 7 further comprises a cylindrical protuberance 9a directed radially opposite the annular heel 6 and forming with the cylindrical protuberance 9a of the projecting portion 7 adjacent, one of the second substantially cylindrical cells forming a cell devoid of axial retention means of the cage 5 on the balls 4 The cylindrical protuberance 9a is therefore unable to ensure the axial retention of the cage 5 with respect to the ball 4 disposed in the corresponding second cavity 9. The cylindrical inner surface of the cylindrical protuberance 9a is part of the cylindrical surface 7b of the second cell 9. The cylindrical protuberance 9a and the claw 8a of one of the axial portions 7 are separated by a recess 7c, so that the claw 8a has a relatively small angular thickness in the circumferential direction and therefore a certain flexibility allowing the locking of the cage 5 on the balls 4 by circumferential spacing of the claws 8a during an axial thrust exerted on the annular heel 6 of the cage 5 in the direction of the balls 4. Each of the cells 8, 9 is open on its inner and outer surface, and also open axially on the opposite side to the annular heel 6 to allow the establishment of the cage 5. The second cells 9 thus have a axial opening provided with cylindrical edges 7b to reduce the friction of the balls 4 on the cage 5. The diameter of the spherical walls 7a of the first cells 8 is greater than that of the balls 4 to present with a ball 4 housed in said first cell 8 corresponding, a first axial clearance Jia, a first radial clearance Jir and a first circumferential clearance The diameter of the cylindrical walls 7b second cells 9 is greater than that of the balls 4 in order to present with a ball 4 housed in the second corresponding cell 9, a second axial play J2a, a second radial clearance J2r and a second circumferential clearance J2c. The axial clearances Ja correspond to the distance between the inner surface 6a of the annular heel 6 and the ball 4 housed in the corresponding cell. The circumferential gaps .1, correspond to the distance between the spherical or cylindrical inner surface 7a, 7b of the corresponding cell 8, 9 and the ball 4 housed in the corresponding cell. The radial clearances Jr correspond to the distance between the center Cb of a ball 4 and the center C of the cell 8 or 9 corresponding. Each of the first radial sets Jir, axial Jia and circumferential Jic is between 0.4% and 1.2% of the pitch diameter passing through the center Cb of the balls 4, preferably between 0.56% and 1.14%, ideally equal to 0.78%. Each of the second radial clearances J2r, axial J2a and circumferential J2c is between 0.4% and 1.6% of the pitch diameter passing through the center Cb of the balls, preferably between 0.56% and 1.54%, ideally equal to 1.14%. As a nonlimiting example, for an effective diameter of 50 mm, each first radial clearance Jir, axial Jia and circumferential Ji, is between 0.2 mm and 0.6 mm, preferably between 0.28 mm and 0.5 mm, ideally equal to 0.3 mm. and each of the second radial clearances J2r, axial J2a and circumferential J2 is between 0.2mm and 0.8mm, preferably between 0.28mm and 0.77m, ideally equal to 0.57mm.
The cage may be, for example, made of synthetic material, preferably of polymeric material, such as for example PA66, PA46, polyetheretherketone (PEEK). As illustrated in FIGS. 2 and 3, the rolling bearing 1 comprises sealing means 10, 11 disposed on either side of the balls 4 in order to prevent the intrusion of polluting particles towards the balls 4 and in particular to the raceways 2a, 2b, 3a, 3b. The sealing means 10, 11 are fixed by a first end 10a, 11a in a notch 2e, 2f formed on the inner bore of the outer ring 2 and extend respectively by a radial portion 10b, 1b towards the surface outer ring of the inner ring 3 comprising an end 10c, 11c near the outer surface of the inner ring 3, leaving a very narrow space with the outer surface of the inner ring 3 to form a seal.
Thanks to the invention, the cells of the cage have with the balls important games to reduce the interaction between the cage and the balls. The cage is therefore little deformable and thanks to the low friction between the cage and the rolling elements, the cage has a longer life.
In addition, the balls are movable relative to each other reducing the risk of unforeseen deformation in case of antagonistic movements of two adjacent balls, for example during a steering wheel movement during parking of the motor vehicle.
