Description
The present invention relates to a rear stretcher of a motor vehicle. It also relates to a motor vehicle body comprising a rear stretcher.
A motor vehicle body consists of parts assembled relative to each other. For motor vehicles of sedan type or minivan, a foot in the middle extends vertically between a rocker and a top at a junction between a front side door and a rear side door on the same side. A rear cross flag extends transversely between the rear parts of the side skirts on each side. A rear stretcher extends longitudinally between the upper part of the middle pillar of one side of the motor vehicle and the end, on the same side of the motor vehicle, of the rear roof cross member. The rear stretcher is usually assembled on the body by welding and thus forms a constituent part of the body, inseparable. The rear stretcher therefore extends longitudinally along the upper part of a rear side door frame and possibly along the upper part of a quarter panel, that is to say along the upper part of the rear side door frame. a rear wing panel with a side window.
The rear stretcher ensures the transmission of forces and thus the rigidity of the body of the motor vehicle between the upper part of a central pillar and the end of the rear roof crossbar on the same side. The rear stretcher is usually a piece of sheet metal, steel or aluminum alloy. Because of its role, the material used and its anchor points, the rear stretcher has a large surface area. On motor vehicles intended for the general public, the rear stretcher is not visible: on the outside it is hidden by different parts of the bodywork such as the roof, the rear side door and the quarter panel, and inside it is usually masked by the interior trim of the cockpit.
In vehicles of the minivan type, it is customary to provide five or six rear seats in two rows. A first row of rear seats at least two places behind the driver, and a second row of rear seats at least two places behind the first row. Access to the first and second row of rear seats is through each rear side door, similar to the cut-off vehicles whose front seatbacks are tilted forward. Here, the rear row seats in the first row are tilted forward to allow access to the rear seats of the second row. In this configuration of the passenger compartment rear passengers benefit from the brightness provided by the windows of the rear side doors and the brightness provided by the rear quarter windows, surfaces generally well below those of the rear side doors.
The interiors of the motor vehicles of the prior art lack brightness, mainly at the rear seats. Rear passengers also lack lateral visibility. An object of the invention is to increase the brightness of the passenger compartment, in particular at the rear seats, to improve the lateral visibility of the rear passengers, to offer a nice motor vehicle aesthetics, while maintaining the mechanical performance of the fund. The invention proposes to increase the glass surface by adding a glazed surface at the rear part of the vehicle, at least partially on the roof of the vehicle. For this, the invention uses a modified rear stretcher, less bulky, compatible with the use of a maximum glass surface, continuous between the parts of the vehicle body substantially vertical and substantially horizontal at the flag, with a very aesthetic attractive. The section of a portion of the rear stretcher is tubular and preserves the mechanical performance of the body. More specifically, the invention is based on a rear stretcher of a motor vehicle, characterized in that it comprises a tubular part over all or part of its length, this tubular part extending substantially longitudinally and being intended to be fixed on a body, firstly on a first front portion and secondly on a second rear portion. The tubular portion may have a substantially circular, ovoidal or elliptical section. It may have a section inscribed in a circle with a diameter of between 30 and 50 mm inclusive, or even between 35 and 45 mm. The tubular part may be partially or fully covered by a covering, and / or may constitute a holding handle for a passenger, and / or may support a passenger carrying handle, and / or may comprise a hooking system allowing the retention in the unwound position of a sun visor, and / or can support a fastening system adapted to receive objects, including a hanger. The tubular part may be made of steel, particularly resistant to cataphoresis. The invention also relates to a motor vehicle body, characterized in that it comprises at least one rear stretcher as described above. The at least one rear stretcher may extend longitudinally in the upper and lateral part of the body, between a first front part and a second rear part, in order to maintain and transmit the forces between these two parts. The at least one rear stretcher may be substantially at the level of at least a portion of the rear seats.
The at least one rear stretcher can be linked to the first front portion at an upper portion of a side door frame.
The at least one rear stretcher can be attached directly to the first front portion and the second rear portion or via gussets. The body may include a means of increasing the brightness of the passenger compartment at the rear stretcher.
The means of increasing the brightness of the passenger compartment may be a zone at least translucent and at most transparent, extending substantially transversely over at least a portion of the width of the rear of the roof, substantially above all or part of the rear seats.
The means of increasing the brightness of the passenger compartment may be a window, in particular a side window extending substantially vertically and curving to form at least a portion of the rear of the roof.
The glass can be tinted or tinted. The tubular portion may not be in contact with the means of increasing the brightness of the passenger compartment, especially be at a distance greater than or equal to 5 cm.
Finally, the invention also relates to a motor vehicle comprising a box as defined above. Other features and advantages of the invention will appear on reading the description of an embodiment which will now be made with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: FIG. 1 is a view from the inside of the the passenger compartment of a motor vehicle, at the rear seats of the first and second rows, the right side representing the prior art and the left part representing an embodiment according to the invention.
Figure 2 is a detail view in perspective of a box from the inside according to one embodiment of the invention. Figure 3 is a detail view in perspective of a box from the outside according to one embodiment of the invention. Figure 4 is a view of the rear body of a motor vehicle comprising a body according to one embodiment of the invention.
Figure 6 is a general perspective view of a motor vehicle according to one embodiment of the invention. In the figures, the longitudinal direction is represented by an axis X, the transverse direction is represented by a Y axis and the vertical direction by a Z axis.
"At least substantially longitudinal / transverse / vertical" means "substantially longitudinal / transverse / vertical" or "longitudinal / transverse / vertical". Figure 1 shows the passenger compartment of a motor vehicle from the rear seats 7 of the first row. The right part of Figure 1, relating to the configuration of the prior art, shows a side window 4 '. It is noted that the rear stretcher is then masked by the interior trim of the passenger compartment. The left part of FIG. 1 corresponds to an embodiment according to the invention. A tubular portion 1, at least partially visible from the interior of the passenger compartment in this embodiment, extends substantially longitudinally in a rear upper lateral area of the passenger compartment and may be shaped as a holding handle for a passenger of the passengers. rear seats 9 of a second row. The tubular portion 1 ensures, between its two ends, the passage of efforts and the holding of the body. Thus, the tubular portion 1 serves as a small space saving means by replacing a portion of the rear stretcher. The tubular portion 1 may have any shape that allows its function and cooperation with the rest of the body 20. Preferably, the tubular portion 1 has a circular, ovoid or elliptical section and a diameter of the order of 40 mm. A window 4 extends substantially vertically and curves laterally to form at least a portion of the rear of the roof 6. The window 4 is spaced at least 5 cm from the tubular portion 1, preferably substantially 6 cm. The tubular part 1 is then also visible from the outside of the vehicle, through the window 4. FIG. 2 shows the inside of the left rear part of a body 20 of a motor vehicle according to the invention, without inner lining. . A rear stretcher 2 extends between a first front portion 21 and a second rear portion 22 of a rear stretcher 2. The stretcher 2 comprises a space-saving means such as a tubular portion 1. The tubular portion 1 can be fixed directly on the first part before 21 by welding, gluing or bolting. The tubular part 1 can also be fixed directly to the second part 22 by welding, gluing or bolting. The attachment of the tubular portion 1 to the first front portion 21 and the second rear portion 22 may be provided through second means, such as gussets 11, 12 at the ends of the tubular portion 1. In this embodiment, realization, the gussets 11, 12 are fixed relative to the tubular part 1 by welding, including weld seams, the gussets 11, 12 being in turn fixed on the first front portion 21 and the second rear portion 22 of the rear stretcher 2 by bolting. Other fastening modes could also be retained, the gussets 11, 12, which can also be replaced by any member for fixing the tubular portion 1 to the first front portion 21 and the second rear portion 22 of the rear stretcher 2. The tubular portion 1 associated or not with second means such as gussets 11, 12 must ensure the transmission of the forces necessary for the good behavior of the body 20, that is to say, maintain the rear structure of the body 20 globally between an upper portion of a central pillar and a rear cross member 8 of the roof 6. The length of the tubular portion 1 depends directly on the sides of the body 20 of the motor vehicle, its length is adapted to the box with which it is connected. It also depends on the glass surface that is chosen. The tubular portion 1 is preferably made of steel, with a resistance to cataphoresis, ie any chemical painting operation that the body undergoes during its manufacture. The window 4, which can be tinted or tinted, advantageously has a minimum radius of curvature of 160 mm. Figure 3 shows the outside of the left rear part of a box 20 according to one embodiment of the invention, without interior trim or bodywork. The stretcher 2 extends substantially longitudinally between the first front part 21, at the level of the upper part of a door frame, and the second rear part 22, close to one end of the rear roof transom 8. The tubular portion 1 has no interference with the rear ring, that is to say all the parts of the box 20 at which is positioned the safe door.
FIG. 4 represents the left rear part of a motor vehicle according to one embodiment of the invention, including the roof 6 and the quarter end 3. The rear crossmember 8 of the roof 6 offers a contact surface, or even a fixing surface, for the window or windows 4, in addition to its role of maintaining the body 20. The windows 4, which extend on the vertical surfaces of each side of the vehicle, may or may not meet at the longitudinal vertical median plane of the motor vehicle. It can thus be proposed to have only one window extending substantially vertically on each side of the vehicle and curving to form the entire width of the rear of the roof 6, in the form of an inverted U . FIG. 5 represents the rear right interior of a passenger compartment in which the headlamps 6 and the rear quarter 5 are equipped with sun visor 5, in order to cover or not the window or windows 4. According to an advantageous embodiment variant , the tubular portion 1 then comprises a hooking system for maintaining in the unwound position of at least one sun visor 5. As mentioned above, the tubular portion 1 can perform additional functions, such as a cooperation with a pare sun 5 as has been seen above, and / or form a handle for the hand of a passenger and / or cooperation with any other suitable fastening system for receiving a hanging object such as a hanger. FIG. 6 shows a motor vehicle according to one embodiment of the invention in which a rear roof portion 6 comprises a portion of window 4 extending from at least one side of the motor vehicle. Advantageously, the tubular portion 1 may include a kind of interior trim, intended to hide more or less or differentiate the ranges of the same model of a motor vehicle. The tubular portion 1 can be bare, dressed with a sticker or sticker, a fabric or other covering that completely surrounds or that masks without contact.
In summary, the invention consists on the one hand in replacing a portion of the rear stretcher 2 located substantially at the rear seats, while ensuring the continuity of the function of the rear stretcher 2, namely the holding of the body 20 and the transmission of efforts, and decreasing its size. This replacement is achieved by means of a tubular part 1 with attractive aesthetics which makes it visible from the inside as well as from the outside, without hindering the positioning of a continuous and important glazed surface. Indeed, on the other hand, a window 4 extends vertically on a lateral part of the box and curves to extend over at least a portion of the rear surface of the flag 6. Due to the small size of the part tubular 1 combined with the gain of glazed area via the geometry of the window 4, it follows a better brightness and better visibility for passengers, including those rear seats 7, 9. Of course, several implementation variants are imaginable, comprising for example glazed surfaces more or less important. In these cases, the length of the tubular portion 1 of the rear stretcher may be chosen as a function of this glazed surface, to extend at least along the length at this glass surface. Then, the rest of the rear stretcher can keep the usual structure, especially out of the glass surface. In addition, the tubular portion may comprise any section, constant or variable, preferably inscribed in a circle with a diameter of between 30 and 50 mm inclusive, or even between 35 and 45 mm. In addition, the glass has a minimum translucent surface, and possibly transparent. The invention has many advantages, such as: - Obtain a satisfactory cash register, that is to say ensure the passage of the efforts, including the twisting forces of the body 20, while having an attractive aesthetic, - Obtain a satisfactory cash register with an appealing appearance of the roof 6, - Respect a correct level of clear bay, - Improve the visibility of the rear passengers, especially those rear seats 9 of the second row, - Improve the brightness in the passenger compartment, in particular at the rear seats of the first and second rows 7, 9, - Provide a handhold for a passenger's hand, in particular a second-row passenger 9 in the second row, - Provide a passenger compartment system. hooking device allowing the holding in the unwound position of at least one sun visor 5, - providing a suitable fastening system for receiving an object to be suspended such as a hanger.
This solution is compatible with a roof type panoramic roof, that is to say, glass, to obtain excellent brightness in the cabin. It can also be envisaged with one or more opening roofs. It can also be considered on a sedan type vehicle, with three doors, five seats, at the second row.
