Abstract

The invention relates to a retaining strip for a window pillar, comprising a wedging portion (10) including a bearing surface (11) and a flange (13) projecting from a side surface of the wedging portion in the direction opposite the bearing surface (11). According to the invention, the method for mounting a window onto a window pillar comprising a thin inner edge (3) comprises the following steps consisting in: mounting an inner trim (16) onto the window pillar, such that one edge of the inner trim extends opposite the inner edge of the window pillar, while being slightly set back from the latter; securing the window pillar retaining strip to the inner edge of the window pillar such that the flange (13) of the retaining strip covers the edge of the inner trim (16); and using a bead of glue (20) to secure the window to the window pillar by resting same on the wedging portion (10).
