Abstract

The method involves disengaging an input shaft (201) carrying first and second gear ratios, of a dual clutch transmission (16) without opening a clutch (17.1). A drive train (14) formed of a heat engine and/or electric machine is coupled to another input shaft (202) carrying a third gear ratio. The clutch is maintained in closed state during coupling the drive train. The clutch is opened at the end of coupling of the drive train so as to synchronize and engage the second gear ratio. Shifting is carried out among the three gear ratios. An independent claim is also included for a device for shifting gear ratio under torque in a dual clutch transmission.
