Abstract
Description
STOCKAGE D'ENERGIE POUR CENTRALE SOLAIRE A CONCENTRATION DE PETITE PUISSANCE 1 DOMAINE TECHNIQUE ET ART ANTERIEUR ENERGY STORAGE FOR SOLAR POWER PLANT WITH SMALL POWER CONCENTRATION 1 TECHNICAL FIELD AND PRIOR ART
The invention relates to a unit for producing thermal and electrical energy in an isolated site from solar energy. It comprises a device for collecting and concentrating solar energy, a heat transfer fluid circuit which transports thermal energy to a conversion module into electrical energy, an original thermal energy storage system which makes it possible to maintain the electricity production during the night or during cloudy periods. This production unit has to operate without interruption or service for several years and harsh climatic conditions: 70 ° C ambient temperature, sand winds, storms, and non-industrialized rural vernacular habitat environment.
1.1 Captage 1.1 Capturing
1.2 Stockaae thermique The capture and concentration of solar energy are well known: they can consist of parabolas, linear parabolic buckets, planar concentrators (heliostat) which concentrate the solar rays at the top of a tower, linear Fresnel lenses. 1.2 Thermal storage
The solar concentrating plants currently under construction have in series with the solar concentrator (hot source) and on the coolant circuit, a module for converting thermal energy into electrical energy and a large capacity tank which stores heat under sensitive form. In this embodiment the storage temperature can not exceed that of the hot source, and when it is reached the storage is full. When the sun disappears, the conversion module is powered by the heat stored in the tank. In this phase of restitution, the T ° of the tank only decreases and this mode of use must stop as soon as its T ° does not allow any more to make operate the module of conversion of thermal energy into electrical energy at the good conditions . The conversion efficiency decreases with T °. The small difference in temperature between full and empty storage, around 30 ° C, added to the low specific heat of industrial heat transfer means that the volumes of these systems reach very high values.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION In the storage of the electric power generation unit of the invention, its capacity, all other things being equal, is increased by a factor of five with respect to conventional storage. because the loading of the stock is done in two different ways: first by the heat supplied by the solar concentrator, then when the T ° of the tank is equal to that of the coolant at the outlet of the concentrator, by electric immersion heaters fed by. the alternator of the module for converting thermal energy into electrical energy. The temperature of the stock can be raised to about 450 ° C, the heating concentrator of the surroundings the coolant to about 300 ° C.
3 PRESENTATION DES FIGURES In this so-called "thermoelectric" storage configuration, the immersion heaters can absorb all of the power supplied by the alternator. Moreover on a bypass of the coolant circuit can be heated a bread oven and cooking plates can thus operate in the absence of sun. 3 PRESENTATION OF FIGURES

DESCRIPTION DETAILLEE D'UN MODE DE REALISATION PREFERENTIEL DU DISPOSITIF DE STOCKAGE D'ENERGIE THERMIQUE POUR CENTRALE SOLAIRE A CONCENTRATION DE PETITE PUISSANCE 4-1 Fonctionnement du stockage et interaction avec l'unité de production d'énergie électrique 4. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF A PREFERENTIAL EMBODIMENT OF THE THERMAL ENERGY STORAGE DEVICE FOR A LOW-POWER CONCENTRATION SOLAR POWER PLANT 4-1 Storage Operation and Interaction with the Power Generation Unit
The operation of the thermoelectric storage is illustrated in Figure 1/5. The thermal energy of the solar radiation is captured and concentrated in a concentrator Rep 1 which heats the coolant, which feeds the primary of a steam generator Rep 2. This produces steam which drives a turbine Rep 5. On the shaft line of the turbine are mounted: the coolant circulation pump Rep 3, the food pump Rep 4, alternator Rep 6. The steam leaving the turbine is condensed and undersaturated in the finned tube battery of the refrigerant Rep 7, the condensed water is then collected in the well of the refrigerant and returned to the generator of steam Rep 2 by the food pump Rep 4. The storage tank Rep 8 is maintained as the rest of the coolant circuit at a pressure of approximately 5 bar by the gear pump Rep 3.
A diaphragm battery Rep 9 serves as an expansion vessel to compensate for the expansion or contraction of the fluid contained in the storage tank and all the circuits during the variations of T °.
The alternator discharges to a distribution network, Repl5, and to immersion heaters, Rep 10, for heating the storage tank Rep 8. The power distribution between the user network, Rep15, and the heat sinkers, Rep 10, is made by a Rep 14 distributor.
The method described above allows the operation of the unit in the following phases:
4-2 Daytime operation with continuous sunlight: Figure 2/5 shows the image of the open circuits and valves in regulation during this phase. The process is as follows: As soon as the solar concentrator focuses the sun's rays, the shaft line is started by the alternator Rep 6 operating as a motor and powered by a battery Rep 11, via a control module Rep 12 The battery is maintained in charge by photovoltaic panels Rep 13. The coolant circuit is arranged to supply the stock and the steam generator in parallel: the Repl6, Rep17 and Rep18 valves are open. The Rep19 Rep 22 valves are closed. The control valve Rep 21 ensures a good distribution of flow between the circulation on the stock and that in the primary of the steam generator. These two flows meet at the suction of the coolant circulation pump Rep 3. When the steam generator is running and the turbine becomes driving, the alternator goes into production mode.
Dès que l'énergie produite par l'alternateur est supérieure à celle fournie au réseau et aux pompes Rep 3 et Rep 4, et que la température du stock égale la température 10 de sortie du concentrateur, les vannes Rep 16 et Rep 21 sont fermées et le surplus The nominal power of the alternator and the solar concentrator are chosen to absorb the solar flux corresponding to the power to be supplied to the grid plus the power to be stored during the hours of sunshine. As soon as the energy produced by the alternator is greater than that supplied to the network and to the pumps Rep 3 and Rep 4, and the temperature of the stock equals the outlet temperature of the concentrator, the valves Rep 16 and Rep 21 are closed. and the surplus
Ce mode de fonctionnement est illustré par la Figure 3/5 electrical energy is dissipated by joule effect in the immersion heater Rep 10: it is thus stored as thermal energy and the storage temperature Rep 8 increases by exceeding the outlet temperature of the concentrator Rep 1. The coolant circuit 15 operates in "big loop" mode. This mode of operation is illustrated in Figure 3/5
30 4-3 Operation in Cloudy Mode: Figure 4/5 shows the image of open circuits and valves in control operation in this phase. The process proceeds as follows: the passage of episodic clouds in front of the sun decreases the heating of the coolant in the concentrator: the temperature Rep 23 at the inlet of the steam generator 25 is kept constant by the opening of the valve Rep 22 and the setting in regulation mode of the valve Rep 19 which injects coolant from the stock Rep 8 during the passage of the cloud. If the cloud period lasts too long the circuit switches to night mode. 30
Le circuit de caloporteur fonctionne en mode "petite boucle" 4-4 Night operation: Figure 5/5 shows the image of open circuits and valves and in regulation operation in this phase. The process proceeds as follows: As soon as the solar energy disappears, the valves Rep 17, Rep 18, Rep 21 are closed. The valves Rep 20 and Rep 22 are open and the temperature of the coolant Rep 23 at the inlet of the steam generator Rep 2, is kept constant by the control valve, Rep 19, which injects hot coolant from the storage tank, Rep 8, in the primary circuit of the steam generator Rep 2. The coolant circuit operates in "small loop" mode
4-5 Oven function and cooking stations After sunset, a Rep 27 bread oven and Rep 28 cooking plates can be heated by using two valves, Rep 25 and Rep 26, which make it possible to derive a fraction of the coolant flow rate. the small loop across a diaphragm Rep 24. 4-5 Disconnection of the user network: When the user network Rep 15 is triggered during sunshine, for example on an insulation fault, the absorbed power becoming zero the load of the alternator also becomes it and the turbine is discharged instantaneously.
The charge transient is avoided because the power supplied by the machine is directed to the immersion heater by the distributor Rep 14. If the storage capacity is reached (the T ° of the stock being 450 ° C), the solar concentrator is de focalised. by rotating the mirrors that compose it. If this triggering occurs in the absence of sunshine the power of the alternator is first switched to the immersion heaters Rep 10, then reduced slowly. The turbine Rep 5 only drives the pumps Rep 3 and Rep 4 to keep the circuit warm. In this situation the flow rate is nominal in the diaphragm Rep 24 and the turbine rotating at minimum power to limit the consumption of the stock to a minimum. This way of dealing with the transient network transient allows not to lose thermodynamic fluid as occurs on valve opening in a conventional RANKINE cycle using steam turbines. This feature also makes it possible not to lose solar energy during the interruption of the user's network by means of thermoelectric storage and to avoid complicated control that can restart automatically as soon as the network demand is restored.
OF THE INVENTION The auxiliaries of the unit have no motor resulting in an increase in the overall efficiency and reliability in the desert environment. The fact that the permanent magnet alternator is reversible, makes it possible to run the pumps at the start of the installation: this avoids having a starter motor. The use of a gear pump to circulate the coolant allows the storage tank to be pressurized without using another specific pump. The use of a thermoelectric storage system makes it possible to deal with the problem inherent to solar power plants: disappearance then reappearance of the sun during the passage of a cloud, disappearance of the sun during the night, untimely triggering of the user network avoiding the waste of fluid and captured energy.
In addition storage and a bypass of the circulation pump can heat cooktops and a bread oven after sunset. This would prevent deforestation that occurs in Sahelian areas, on islands such as Haiti where the population intensively cuts vegetation to maintain domestic fires for cooking food.
5 35 INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS This type of storage, and the power generation unit that goes with it, is a good answer to off-site power generation that requires day and night heat and electrical energy. for the vital needs of village populations. 5 35
