Abstract

The method involves producing a transport module (20) to float on a surface (21) of a water stream (17), where the module includes a transmitter to transmit a wave beam (32) to the bottom (15) of the stream. Waves (36) reflected from different separation surfaces (41-44) are received by a receiver-analyzer while moving the transport module with respect to reference points of a sewer (10). The variations of the reflected waves with respect to the position of the transport module are stored. The status of the separation surfaces is determined based on the variations of the reflected waves. An independent claim is also included for a device for determining status of a bottom part of a drain, comprising a transport module.
