Description
MOTEUR A COMBUSTION INTERNE MUNI D'UN ARBRE D'EQUILIBRAGE INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE EQUIPPED WITH A BALANCING SHAFT
The invention relates to internal combustion engines, and in particular the balancing of the alternative forces generated by the mobile equipment including crankshafts, pistons and connecting rods. Internal combustion engines comprise one or more cylinders arranged in line, flat, or V. Because of the cyclic operation of the internal combustion engine, the movement of the moving element is the source of cyclic vibrations. and noises that it is important to limit. Among these different engine locations, the odd number of in-line cylinder engines, generally three or five, pose particular difficulties of balancing. Indeed, the efforts of pestle of order 1, 2 and 4, are null and those of order 6 are extremely weak and are not balanced in general. On the other hand, the engine is subjected to a pair of galloping also called pitching torque, of order 1, 2 and 4. [0003] For motor vehicles, the majority of the engines manufactured comprise four cylinders. The fight against atmospheric pollution has also led car manufacturers to develop vehicles with lower fuel consumption. In order to reduce the friction and the consumption of the engines, it is expected that an increasing number of produced engines has a reduced cylinder capacity and a smaller number of cylinders. In particular, it is planned to develop a large number of three-cylinder engines, for which balancing issues are increased. Balancing is particularly important for spontaneous combustion engines, known as diesel engines. Balancing devices with so-called Lanchester shafts are known which make it possible to balance on four-cylinder engines in line, in particular the 2nd order pestle force and on the odd-numbered engines of cylinders. first order gallop torque. [0005] These balancing devices may comprise two contra-rotating shafts, driven by chain and gears or by belt. However, such devices are heavy, bulky, expensive and increase the number of engine parts. The balancing shafts drive requires in particular to extend the crankshaft to implement a pulley or a drive gear of the balancer shaft. Consequently, the gain in overall length of a three-cylinder engine compared to a 4-cylinder engine (with the same cubic capacity and an identical bore and stroke) is less than the cylinder center distance, and is therefore less than what can be theoretically envisaged. The space saving by deleting a cylinder can then be particularly limited. The invention aims to solve one or more of these disadvantages. The invention thus relates to an internal combustion engine, comprising: [0007] a crankshaft; [0008] a camshaft valve control rotated by the crankshaft; [0009] a balancing shaft driven in rotation by the crankshaft in a direction of rotation opposite to that of the crankshaft; [0010] the camshaft is hollow; -The balancing shaft is rotatably mounted within the camshaft and driven in rotation by the camshaft. Alternatively, the balancing shaft passes through the camshaft from side to side along its axis of rotation. According to another variant, the balancer shaft comprises a flyweight disposed protruding longitudinally relative to the camshaft. According to another variant, the balancer shaft comprises flyweights arranged longitudinally projecting on either side of the camshaft. According to another variant, the camshaft comprises hydrodynamic bearings rotational guide of the balancer shaft. According to yet another variant, the camshaft comprises at an axial end a pulley or a gear driven by the crankshaft, the motor further comprising a reduction mechanism housed in the pulley or gear, the coupling reduction mechanism the gear or pulley to the balance shaft so that the direction of rotation of the balancer shaft is opposite that of the crankshaft. According to one variant, the reduction mechanism drives the balancer shaft at a rotation speed twice that of the camshaft with an opposite direction of rotation. According to another variant, the reduction mechanism is an epicyclo'idal gear, comprising an inner sun gear integral with the balancer shaft, an outer sun gear integral with the pulley or gear, at least one satellite meshing on the inner and outer planetaries, and a satellite door attached to the engine and on which the satellite is rotatably mounted. According to another variant, the satellite comprises first and second teeth axially offset and having distinct diameters, the first toothing meshing on the outer sun gear and the second toothing meshing on the inner sun gear. According to yet another variant, the engine comprises a mechanism coupling the camshaft to the crankshaft with a variable angular setting. According to another variant, the pulley and the camshaft are mounted with an angular displacement relative to each other, and the mechanism comprises a chamber defined by a wall integral with the camshaft and by a wall integral with the pulley, the chamber having a fluid introduction orifice so as to modify the geometry of the chamber by modifying the angular setting between said walls. According to yet another variant, the engine comprises only three pistons coupled to the crankshaft via respective connecting rods. Other features and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the description which is given below, for information only and in no way limitative, with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: - Figure 1 is a view in schematic section of an internal combustion engine according to one embodiment of the invention; - Figure 2 is an enlarged schematic sectional view at the cylinder head of the engine of Figure 1; - Figure 3 is a side view of the drive mechanism of the balancer shaft; FIG. 4 is a schematic sectional view of a variant of including a variable timing setting; Figure 5 is a cross-sectional view of the variant of Figure 4. [0024] The invention provides an internal combustion engine with a hollow camshaft. The motor has a balance shaft rotatably mounted within the camshaft and rotated by the camshaft. Such an engine makes it possible to optimize its overall dimensions in length (according to the axis of rotation of the crankshaft) since the same crankshaft drive member may drive both the balancer shaft and the axle shaft. cams. In addition, such a motor has a small footprint along other axes, since the balancer shaft is housed for the most part inside the camshaft. Such an engine also makes it possible to use a reduced number of components, which optimizes its manufacturing cost. Figure 1 is a schematic representation of an internal combustion engine 1 according to the invention. Such an internal combustion engine 1 comprises, in a manner known per se, a crankshaft 100 extending along a longitudinal axis 108 and rotatably mounted in a crankcase 105 around this axis 108. The crankshaft 100 is for the most part housed at The crankshaft 100 is intended to be coupled to the drive wheels of a vehicle via a gearbox not shown. The crankshaft 100 comprises crank pins 107 eccentric with respect to the axis of rotation 108. Pistons 101 are connected to the crankshaft 100 via connecting rods 104. The rods 104 are thus rotatably mounted around respective crank pins 107. The pistons 100 are slidably mounted in combustion chambers 106 of the crankcase 105. In this case, the internal combustion engine 1 is a three-cylinder engine. A cylinder head 110 is attached to the crankcase 105 and houses an intake device to the combustion chambers 106. The intake device comprises in particular a camshaft 120 whose cams cause the opening and closing of valves 102 of synchronized with the rotation of the crankshaft. The camshaft 120 is rotated in the same direction as the crankshaft 100. The rotational speed of the crankshaft 100 is twice that of the camshaft 120. In the illustrated example, the camshaft 120 is rotated by means of a toothed pulley 150 attached at its end, a toothed pulley 103 attached to one end of the crankshaft 100, and a toothed belt 152 wound on the pulleys 103 and 150. [ 0027] Figure 2 is an enlarged sectional view at the cylinder head 110 of the internal combustion engine 1. For reasons of readability, the housing of the cylinder head 110 is not illustrated. The toothed pulley 150 is embedded on a longitudinal end of the camshaft 120. The embedding can be achieved by any appropriate means, for example by screwing, fitting or welding. The toothed pulley 150 has a notched groove 151 meshing with the belt 152. The pulley 150 thus allows the crankshaft 100 to drive the camshaft 120 in rotation synchronously. By using pulleys 150 and 103 of suitable diameters, the crankshaft 100 drives the camshaft 120 so that the rotational speed of the crankshaft 100 is twice that of the camshaft 120. [0028] The shaft cam 120 is housed in the cylinder head 110 and extends along an axis 109 parallel to the axis 108. The camshaft 120 comprises, in a manner known per se, cams 121 intended to actuate the valves 102. cams 120 is hollow and has a bore 124 extending over its entire length. The camshaft 120 is rotatably mounted about the axis 109 in the cylinder head 110. A balancer shaft 130 passes right through the camshaft 120. The balancer shaft 130 crosses thus the bore 124 and includes a shaft 133 housed inside the bore 124. The balance shaft 130 is rotatably mounted within the camshaft 120. The camshaft 120 advantageously comprises bearings 122 and 123, for example hydrodynamic bearings, in order to guide the balance shaft 130 in rotation. The balance shaft 130 comprises at least one eccentric mass with respect to the axis 109. The balancer shaft 130 comprises in particular a counterweight 131 projecting longitudinally with respect to the camshaft 120. The counterweight 131 is disposed at one end of the shaft 133 and protrudes radially from the shaft 133. The flyweight 131 is eccentric with respect to the axis 109. The balance shaft 130 also comprises another weight 132 reported. The flyweight 132 is attached to the shaft 133 opposite the flyweight 131. The flyweight 132 is projecting radially from the shaft 133 and is eccentric with respect to the axis 109. The flyweights 131 and 132 form unbalance offset angularly 180 °. In general, the skilled person will define one or more flyweights on the balance shaft 130 so as to balance vibrations along axes and appropriate phasages relative to the crankshaft 100. The shaft of balancing 130 is rotated by the camshaft 120, in a direction of rotation opposite that of the crankshaft 100. The balancer shaft 130 is driven at a rotation speed equal to that of the crankshaft 100, but with a opposite direction of rotation. The rotational speed of the balance shaft 130 is thus twice that of the camshaft 120. The drive of the balancer shaft 130 by the camshaft 120 is advantageously carried out through a reduction mechanism. The reduction mechanism is advantageously housed in the pulley 150, which reduces the longitudinal size of the motor 1. The pulley 150 thus forms a drive member by the crankshaft 100 common to the camshaft 120 and to the shaft For this purpose, a volume 153 is formed inside the pulley 150. The reduction mechanism drives the balancer shaft 130 in a direction of rotation opposite to that of the crankshaft 100. [0032] Advantageously, the reduction mechanism is achieved by means of an epicyclo-thetic gear train 140. Thus, the rotary drive of the balancer shaft 130 can be achieved by means of a particularly compact mechanism and easily logeable in the volume. The epicyclic gear 140 comprises an outer sun gear (or ring gear) 141 formed by an internal toothing of the toothed belt 150. The epicyclic train 140 also has an inner sun gear 149 secured to the balancer shaft 130. The inner sun gear 149 is constructed as an external toothing on one end of the shaft 133. The epicyclic gear 140 further includes satellites 144 (hereinafter 3) meshing with each other. On the inner sun gear 149 and on the outer sun gear 141. The satellites 144 are rotatably mounted on a satellite gate 145. The satellite gate 145 is fixed with respect to the motor 1, so that the axes of the satellites are fixed. The satellite door 145 may for example be fixed on the crankcase 105 or on the cylinder head 110, bores 146 allowing in particular a fastening by screwing. The satellites 144 have a first toothing 142 and a second toothing 143. The teeth 142 and 143 are offset longitudinally. The toothing 142 meshes with the outer sun gear 141, the toothing 143 meshing with the inner sun gear 149. The teeth 142 and 143 have distinct diameters. The reduction ratio of the epicyclic gear 140 is set so that the rotational speed of the balance shaft 130 is twice that of the camshaft 120. [0033] In one example, the outer sun gear 141 may include 75 teeth, the toothing 142 may comprise 25 teeth, the toothing 143 may comprise 20 teeth, and the inner sun gear 149 may include 30 teeth. Although the illustrated embodiment describes a notched belt drive, the synchronous drive of the camshaft 120 and the balancer shaft 130 by the crankshaft 100 can also be achieved via a cascade of gables. In this case, the pulley 150 is replaced by an external gear. The synchronous drive of the camshaft 120 and the balance shaft 130 by the crankshaft 100 can also be achieved by chain. In the example shown, the balance shaft 130 is mounted in an intake camshaft 120. It is of course also mount the balancer shaft 130 in an exhaust camshaft. Although the toothed pulley 150 is fixed to the camshaft 120 in the illustrated embodiment, may also consider interposing a phase shift device of the camshaft relative to the crankshaft, so as to be able to shift angularly this pulley 150 relative to the camshaft 120. Thus, it is possible to realize a camshaft timing variation device, both for the intake camshaft and the camshaft of the camshaft. 'exhaust. depending on the operating conditions of the motor. Figures 4 and 5 schematically illustrate the structure of a camshaft, a balancer shaft and a drive pulley according to a variant having a phase shift device 160 of the shaft to cams relative to the crankshaft. The toothed pulley 150 is pivotally mounted on a longitudinal end of the camshaft 120. As in the previous variant: the toothed pulley 150 has a notched groove 151 meshing with the belt 152; - The camshaft 120 extends along an axis and is rotatably mounted about this axis in the cylinder head. The camshaft 120 includes cams 121 actuating the valves 102. The camshaft 120 is hollow and has a bore 124 extending along its entire length; the balancer shaft 130 comprises a shaft 133 passing right through the bore 124 of the camshaft 120. The balancing shaft 130 is rotatably mounted relative to the camshaft 120; the balancer shaft 130 comprises a counterweight 131 projecting longitudinally with respect to the camshaft 120. The counterweight 131 is disposed at one end of the shaft 133 and protrudes radially from the shaft 133 The flyweight 131 is eccentric with respect to the axis; the balancing shaft 130 also comprises another counterweight 132 attached. The flyweight 132 is attached to the shaft 133 opposite the flyweight 131. The flyweight 132 is projecting radially from the shaft 133 and is eccentric with respect to the axis; the drive of the balancer shaft 130 by the camshaft 120 is produced by means of the reduction gear with epicycloidal train 140 housed in the volume 153 of the pulley 150. The epicycloidal train 140 has the same characteristics as in the previous variant. The variable timing of the camshafts 120 relative to the crankshaft is achieved by means of the phase shifter 160. The device 160 changes the relative angular position between the pulley 150 and the cam shaft 120. The pulley 150 has several pins 155 projecting radially inwardly. The device 160 furthermore comprises a paddle wheel. The impeller is connected by a recessed connection with the camshaft 120, for example by screwing. The impeller comprises a central hub 161 from which radially extend vanes 162. The blades 162 are the same number as the lugs 155 and vis-à-vis. The impeller and the pulley are pivotally mounted relative to each other with a certain angular displacement. The combination of blades 162 and lugs 155 delimits chambers with variable volume 163. The centripetal face of the lugs 155 also ensures the rotational guidance of the wheel 150 and the sealing of the chambers 163. The chambers 163 are powered by an oil supply. The oil pressure defines the size of the cavity, and thus the angular positioning of the cam shaft 120 relative to the pulley 150. The oil pressure in the cavities 163 is thus controlled by an engine control computer, depending on the operating conditions of the motor. The rooms 163 alternate with 164 rooms with which they are placed in opposition. These chambers 164 may comprise a return spring between the lugs 155 and the blades 162, a compressible fluid, or an incompressible fluid whose filling is controlled by the engine control computer. In the example illustrated, the phase shift device 160 is hydraulically actuated. However, it is also possible to envisage other types of actuation of the phase shift device, for example by means of an electric motor or by means of a mechanical control. The balancer shaft 130 is directly driven by the pulley 150 via the epicyclic train 140. Thus, the angular setting of the balancer shaft 130 relative to the crankshaft 100 is always constant.
