Abstract

The device has analysis units (M1) arranged to estimate distance separating a rear part (PR) and/or a front part (PV) of a vehicle (V) from obstacles located in its immediate environment. Warning units (M2) are arranged to generate a warning representative of considered distance for a driver. Control units (MC) are arranged to authorize the warning units to generate warning before the vehicle starts to move along a direction and until the vehicle moves along another direction opposite to the former direction, at a speed equal to a selected threshold. An independent claim is also included for a method for assistance operations of a driver of a vehicle.
