Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an electronic device detecting a presence to actuate any system, such as a solenoid valve. A large number of electronic devices are known for actuating a system by detection of a presence, such as for example the devices located on elevator frames, coin or parcel counting systems, devices located on taps, so that the user does not have to operate the tap: the amount of water needed can be delivered and this for a predetermined time. These devices generally involve an emitting diode and a radiation detector: this detects the reflected ray signaling a presence and consequently emits a signal which is taken into account and processed by a microcontroller to trigger the timed opening of a solenoid valve for example. But in such an application, the ambient light is a parasite for the detector which may cause unwanted tripping. One of the aims of the present invention is therefore to provide an electronic device which makes it possible to obviate in particular this disadvantage of the prior art. Another object of the invention is to provide such a device which is simple and reliable design.
These and other objects which will appear later are achieved by an electronic device detecting a presence to actuate any system, such as a solenoid valve, comprising a support and a lid made integral with one another by any known means, which device is, according to the present invention, characterized in that the cover comprises a first and a second tubular duct of parallel axis and that the support is provided with a first emitting source capped by the first tubular duct and an assembly constituted by a second emitting source and a detector and capped by the second tubular duct, a partition separating the first emitting source from this assembly, the detector being connected to the system to be actuated and the emitting sources and the detector being connected to less a source of energy. Advantageously, the first emitting source is a transmitting diode in the pulsed infra-red and the detector is a receiver in the infra-red. Preferably, the second emitting source is a transmitting diode in the non-pulsed infra-red.
Advantageously, the two tubular ducts are perpendicular to the plane of the support. Preferably, the second tubular duct has a partial transverse partition disposed above the second emitting source.
The following description, which is in no way limiting, should be read with reference to the appended figures, in which: FIG. 1 is an exploded perspective view of an electronic device according to the present invention. Figure 2 is a longitudinal sectional view of such a device.
As can be seen in these figures, an electronic device according to the present invention, for actuating any system, such as a solenoid valve comprises a support 1 and a lid 2 which are secured to one another by any known way. The lid 2 comprises a first 3 and a second 4 tubular duct of parallel axis. The sections of these tubular ducts are for example identical and preferably of quadrangular shape. According to the present embodiment, the two tubular ducts 3 and 4 are adjacent by one of their walls. These two tubular ducts 3 and 4 are generally perpendicular to the plane of the support 1.
The first tubular duct 3 covers a first emitter source 5, generally a transmitting diode in the pulsed infra-red. The second tubular duct 4 covers a set 6 constituted by a second emitter source in general a transmitting diode in the non-pulsed infra-red, and a detector, in this case a receiver in the infra-red.
The first transmitting source 5 is intended to emit a beam which, if it encounters an object, will be reflected at least partially towards the detector 8. The second emitting source 7 is intended to create a radiation corresponding to an ambient light of in order to reduce the effect of variations in natural and / or artificial lighting: thus, the detector 8 will be excited only by the reflected beam. Thus, for example, the first light source 5 is constituted by a transmitting diode in the pulsed infrared whose instantaneous power is important. As for the second emitting source 7, it is constituted by a transmitting diode in the non-pulsed infra-red whose power is much lower than that of the first emitting source 5.
According to an alternative embodiment, the second tubular duct may comprise a partial transverse partition to reflect on the detector 8 the beam emitted by the second emitting source 7, while allowing the possible reflected beam. The first tubular conduit 3 has the function of limiting and directing the beam emitted by the first emitting source 5 so as to focus it towards the object to be detected and to prevent the pulsed signal emitted by this first emitting source 5 from The second tubular duct 4 has the function, on the one hand, of allowing a polarization or pre-sensitization of the detector 8 by the radiation emitted by the second emitting source 7 and, on the other hand, of focusing the radiation reflected on the detector 8. As is obvious to those skilled in the art, the detector 8 is connected to the system to be actuated as well as to a source of energy. This or another source of energy can also feed the two emitting sources 5 and 7.
