Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a kickstand for protecting a structural element of an aircraft against an impact with the ground, and an aircraft equipped with a crutch. such a crutch. More specifically, the invention relates to a crutch intended to protect the rear end of a rotorcraft, including the rear tail rotor of a helicopter. Indeed, the certification regulations of a helicopter require that the rear anti-torque rotor is protected to avoid impact of the rear rotor with the ground when the helicopter has a nose-up attitude near this ground. For example, during an autorotational landing, the pilot rears his helicopter close to the ground, this procedure being called flare in English by the skilled person. As a result, the rear rotor may come into contact with the ground which could lead to a catastrophic situation. In addition, during a landing at high speed, the pilot strongly pitched the helicopter to slow it down.
In the same way, some planes are also equipped with a crutch to protect the rear part of their fuselage against impact with the ground. Thus, the aircraft, and especially the helicopters, advantageously include protection against an impact with the ground in case of high pitch-up incidence of the aircraft. For example, a crushable and changeable shoe arranged in a structural element is known. For example, the helicopter known under the trademark Gazelle is provided with such a shoe inside the keel of its shrouded tail rotor, ie inside the lower structural element of the rear tail rotor ground when the helicopter is seated.
Alternatively, other aircraft are provided with a resilient stand with a single blade. A first end of the stand is provided with a spatula while its second end is fixed by two separate fastening means to the structural element to be protected. The document FR 2554210 presents a crutch of this type arranged on the tail boom of a helicopter. The crutch is therefore in fact cantilever, which explains that the skilled person sometimes uses the English term cantilever to name it.
Although effective, it is noted that the overhang of these crutches induces significant efforts at the fastening means of the stand to the structural element. This structural element must then be oversized to withstand the forces generated by the stand during a contact with the ground.
In addition, it was noted that the crutch sometimes caused incidents on some aircraft. Indeed, from a given cornering angle, the angle between the stand and the ground and the shape of the spatula cause an arching of the crutch and consequently a depression of the structural element at the level of means of fixing the crutch. Furthermore, in some cases, the structural integrity of the tail boom can be taken into account. Also, a consequent maintenance action is to be expected. To remedy these incidents, the stand was articulated to the structural element to be protected, and an oleopneumatic energy absorber was arranged between the stand and the structural element.
The present invention therefore aims to provide an effective protection kickstand regardless of the pitch angle and does not involve local oversizing of the structural element to be protected. According to the invention, a support leg of a structural element of an aircraft against impacts with the ground, a tail boom or an anti-torque rear rotor of a helicopter, for example, is provided with a contact blade provided with successively an elongated junction zone, an intermediate zone elongate and then a spatula contact.
In addition, this protection stand is remarkable in that it comprises a fixing blade provided with a first and a second end, the first end being secured to the junction area of the contact blade, the orthogonal projection on the fixing strip of the free end of the contact spatula being a line appearing on the fixing blade between its first and second ends. In other words, if the nose-up attitude of the aircraft exceeds a certain predetermined threshold depending on the geometry of the aircraft, the crutch comes into contact with the ground to avoid impact of the structural element against this ground. The ground reaction on the stand is then directed in a direction intersecting the fixing blade between its first and second ends. The resulting forces on the stand are distributed over the first and second ends, unlike the cantilever legs for which the resulting forces are distributed on a single end. Therefore, it is no longer necessary to oversize the structural element to accommodate the kickstand.
The invention further includes one or more of the optional features that follow. For example, the fixing blade and the contact blade form a V-shaped deformable assembly, the fixing blade and the contact blade representing the first and second branches of this deformable assembly. In addition, the first end of the fixing blade advantageously comprises a transverse orifice, this transverse orifice passing through the first end from one side to another in a transverse direction substantially orthogonal to a longitudinal direction along which the fixing blade extends. In addition, the fixing blade may comprise a reinforcing gusset integrated at the first end so as to be at least partially in contact with the junction zone of the contact blade.
According to a first embodiment, the fixing blade and the contact blade together form a deformable assembly monobloc. These fixing and contact blades are therefore two parts of a single mechanical part, for example by showing the branches of a V-shaped one-piece body.
According to a second embodiment, the fixing blade and the contact blade are distinct, namely two separate mechanical parts. The stand then comprises a fixing means for fixing the contact blade to the fixing blade.
The fixing and contact blades can therefore be made from different materials, the fixing blade can be made of an aluminum alloy or a composite material based on glass fibers for example while the blade fastening is optionally made of aluminum alloy or steel. The stand comprising a fixing means for fixing the contact blade to the fixing blade, an extremal portion of the first end is optionally curved so that the junction zone and the intermediate zone of the contact blade attached to this end portion have angulation with the fixation blade. In addition to a support leg of a structural element, the present invention also relates to the aircraft provided with such a crutch.
Thus, according to the invention, an aircraft is provided with a structural element having a kickstand to prevent the structural element coming into contact with the ground when the aircraft has a nose-up attitude close to the ground, the kickstand being provided with a contact blade successively provided with an elongated junction zone, an intermediate elongated zone and then a contact spatula. This aircraft is remarkable in that, the stand being a stand according to the invention, this stand has a fixing blade inserted into the structural element to be protected and provided with a first and a second ends, the first end being secured to the junction zone of the contact blade, the orthogonal projection on the fixing blade of the free end of the contact spatula being a line appearing on the fixing blade between its first and second ends.
This aircraft may furthermore possess one or more of the following additional features. Advantageously, the fixing blade has with the ground an angle of between 5 degrees and 40 degrees, depending on the dimensions of the aircraft, when the aircraft is placed on its train under normal conditions. Thus, at the time of landing, when the pitch attitude of the aircraft is such that the landing gear and the contact strip simultaneously touch the ground, the fixing blade is parallel to the ground. Under these conditions, the first and second ends of the fixing blade being connected to the structural element by connecting means, respectively a fixing shaft and a locking means for example, these connecting means work under the best conditions. Indeed, the forces transmitted by the connecting means are then substantially perpendicular to the fixing blade which avoids any stray shear force in the connecting means. On the other hand, since the structural element defines a volume between a leading edge zone and a trailing edge zone, the fastening and contact blades possibly meet near the leading edge zone. The first end of the fixing blade having a transverse orifice traversing this first end from side to side in a transverse direction, the aircraft comprises a fastening shaft passing through the leading edge area and the transverse orifice for fixing the blade. fixing, and therefore the crutch, the structural element.
Likewise, the structural element defining a volume between a leading edge zone and a trailing edge zone, the trailing edge zone being provided with a thrust shaft, the aircraft comprises a means for blocking the trailing edge zone. the second end of the fixing blade against the stop shaft. Therefore, the stand is advantageously maintained inside the structural element by the first and second ends of the fixing blade, unlike the cantilever legs of the state of the art.
To allow a sliding of the fixing blade, the stop shaft can be coated with an elastic material, a hard rubber sleeve for example. The locking means is optionally provided with a U-shaped yoke provided with a bottom and two side walls each having a bore through which the abutment shaft passes, the second end being locked between the bottom of the yoke and the yoke. thrust shaft. Like the abutment shaft, the bottom is at least partially covered with a rubber-like elastic material for example. Furthermore, a lower surface of the structural element, facing the ground when the aircraft is placed, advantageously comprises a light through which the contact blade passes. Finally, the lower part of the structural element is crushable to provide additional protection for violent shocks. We will refer to the literature and in particular to the Gazelle helicopter to manufacture such a lower part.

The elements present in several separate figures are assigned a single reference.
Figure 1 shows an isometric view of a support leg 1 for protecting an aircraft structural element against impacts with the ground. Independently of the embodiment, the stand 1 is provided with a contact blade 10 and a fixing blade 20. The contact blade 10 has successively, from one end to another, an elongated junction zone 11, an intermediate zone 12 and a contact spatula 13 curved. In addition, the fixing blade 20 extends longitudinally 10 from a first end 21 to a second end 22. The junction zone 11 of the contact blade 10 is then secured, namely embedded, at the first end 21 of The contact blade 10 and fastener 20 are then respectively the first and second branches of an elastically deformable V-shaped assembly. The geometry of the stand 1 is such that the orthogonal projection P1 of the free end 14 of the contact spatula 10 on the lower face 20 'of the fixing blade 20, namely the face 20 of the fixing blade 20 opposite the contact blade, is a straight line D1 appearing on this face 20 'of the contact blade 20. This orthogonal projection is then disposed between the first and second ends 21, 22 of the fixing blade 20. Moreover, so that the stand can be fixed to the structural element to protect, the first end 21 is traversed through a transverse orifice 23 directed in a transverse direction Y orthogonal to the longitudinal direction X in which the fixing blade 20 extends. It will be seen later that it is necessary to fix the first end 21 of the fixing blade 20 via a fixing shaft and to wedge, namely to block, the second end 22 of this fixing blade 20 to bind the stand 1 to a structural element. Finally, the first end 21 of the fixing blade 20 shown in FIG. 1 is provided with a reinforcing gusset 24. According to the first preferred embodiment shown diagrammatically in FIGS. 1 and 2, the stand 1 constitutes a single piece 10 monobloc mechanism. Indeed, the contact blades 10 and fasteners 20 together form a deformable assembly with a V-shaped one-piece body. On the contrary, according to the second embodiment described in FIG. 3, the contact blade 10 and the blade of FIG. 20 are two separate mechanical parts secured by an attachment means 40. As a result, an end portion 21 'of the first end 21 of the fixing blade 20 is bent so that the contact blade, at least the junction area 11 and the intermediate zone 12 of this contact blade 10, has an angulation with the fixing blade 20, namely with the rectilinear part of the fixing blade between the first and second ends 21, 22. The fixing means 40 then comprises a clamping means 43, provided with a screw and a nut 42 for example, to partially flatten the junction zone 11 of the contact blade 10 at least partially against the first end of the fixing blade 10.
Optionally, a shim 41 is interposed between the nut 42 of the clamping means 43 and the junction zone 11. This wedge 41 then optimizes the clamping. With reference to FIG. 3, it can be seen that the junction zone 11 of the contact blade 10 only partially plates at the first end 21 of the fixing blade 20. In fact, at rest and therefore outside a phase of contact with the ground, the gusset 24 reinforcement of the first end 21 is not in contact with the junction area 11 to optimize the operation of the stand 1. Figure 4 shows a side view of an aircraft 2 provided with of a structural element having a crutch according to the invention. The aircraft 2 is a helicopter equipped with a ducted tail rotor, namely a fenestron arranged at the rear end 8 'of the tail boom 8 of the helicopter. The structural element 3 is advantageously a keel representing a vertical drift fixed under the ducted rear rotor. It should be noted that this structural element could be a rear part of a fuselage of an aircraft or a part of a tail boom for example. A crutch 1 is then fixed inside the structural element 3. More precisely, the structural element 3 having a leading edge zone 4 and a trailing edge zone 5, the first end 21 of the fastening strip 20 is attached to the leading edge area 4. In addition, the second end 22 is locked within the structural member 3 at the trailing edge area 5, using an abutment shaft 60 and a locking means 61.
The fixing blade 20 is thus maintained in a volume V1 defined by the structural element 3 between its leading edge area 4 and its trailing edge zone 5. The contact blade 40 then passes through a light 7 in the lower surface 6 of the structural element 3. Thus, the intermediate zone 12 elongate and the contact spatula 13 of the contact blade 10 protrude from the structural element 3. Moreover, once attached to the inside the structural element 3, the fixing blade 20 advantageously has an angle 8 with the ground S. Finally, the lower portion 6 'of the structural element 3 is capable of crashing in the event of violent shocks. FIG. 5 shows a top view of a section of the leading edge zone 4 of a structural element 3, a fixing blade being arranged inside the volume V1 delimited by the partitions of the structural element; 3. The fixing blade 20 having a transverse orifice 23 passing right through its first end 21, the aircraft is provided with a fixing shaft 50.
This fixing shaft 50 then passes through the transverse orifice 23 and the lateral partitions 3 ', 3 "of the structural element 3, to fix the fixing blade of the stand 1 to this structural element 3. FIGS. 7, and 8 respectively show side, rear and top views of sections of the trailing edge region 5 of a structural member 3 having a crutch 1. Referring to these FIGS. 6, 7 and 8 , the aircraft 2 comprises, at the level of the trailing edge region 5 of the structural element 3, a locking system of the second end 22 of the fixing blade 20. The locking system comprises a stop shaft 60 , arranged in a rubber sleeve 60 ', against which is pressed the second end 22 of the fixing blade 20. The stop shaft 60 is then secured to the side walls 3', 3 "of the structural element 3 by means of usual methods. In addition, the locking system has a locking means 61 capable of jamming the second end 22 of the fixing blade 20 against the stop shaft 60. This locking means 61 comprises a U-shaped yoke provided with a bottom 63 and two side walls 64, 65. These two side walls 64, 65 then each have a bore 66 in order to be traversed by the stop shaft 60. The locking means 61 is thus suspended from the shaft. stop 60 by its side walls 64, 65. As a result, the second end 22 of the fixing blade 20 is held between the stop shaft and the bottom 63 of the locking means 61. More specifically, the bottom 63 being partially covered of an elastic material 66, the second end 22 is locked between the elastic coating 60 'of the stop shaft 60 and the layer of elastic material 66 covering the bottom 63 of the blocking means 60. FIG. 9 shows a view side of a structural element 3 provided with a crutch 1 according to the invention in contact with the ground. When the aircraft 2 has a pitch attitude of an angle 3 near the ground S, the contact blade 10 of the stand 1 is in contact with the ground S while the fixing blade 20 of this stand 1 is substantially parallel to the ground S.
The reaction R of the soil S on the stand 1 is then directed in a direction passing between the first and second ends of the fixing blade 20. Consequently, these first and second ends each exert a resultant force on the structural element 3, via the fastening shafts 50 and stop 60. It is no longer necessary to oversize the structural element 3, the leading edge 4 and trailing edge 5 areas being in fact subjected to minimized efforts.
Naturally, the present invention is subject to many variations as to its implementation. Although several embodiments have been described, it is well understood that it is not conceivable to exhaustively identify all the possible modes. It is of course conceivable to replace a means described by equivalent means without departing from the scope of the present invention.
