Description
SYSTEME ET PROCEDE DE DISTRIBUTION ELECTRIQUE A BORD D'UN AERONEF SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ELECTRICAL DISTRIBUTION ON BOARD AN AIRCRAFT
. TECHNICAL FIELD The invention relates to a system and method for electrical distribution on board an aircraft, for example an aircraft. In the following, to simplify the description, we consider as an example the case of the aircraft. STATE OF THE PRIOR ART In terms of power storage and distribution, an aircraft has to face various technical problems. One of the most significant technical problems is related to the fact that the management of electrical energy on board is strongly constrained by the management of transients on the electrical network during reconfigurations, for example on the computers. The object of the invention is to provide an effective and efficient solution to such a problem. In the field of transport with electric vehicles, as described in the referenced document [1] at the end of the description, it is known to use supercapacities (also called ultracapacities) for storing a large amount of energy and for restoring it a very short time. Supercapacities, in fact, are capacities 2 having high storage performance of up to several kilofarads with a voltage of a few volts per element. As illustrated in FIG. 1, they comprise two positive and negative electrodes 10 and an electrolyte 12. They store the electrical energy electrostatically via two electrodes and an electrolyte. This figure illustrates the + 13 ions and the 14 ions. The supercapacities have many advantages, the most significant of which are: - a very large power storage capacity, in particular because of the very low value of the equivalent series resistance ( ESR or Electrical Serial Resistance) up to less than one milliohm: supercapacities can also store several tens of kilowatts per kilogram of supercapacity, a possibility to meet large peaks in power demand, - a rate of charge / discharge much greater than that of batteries for example: this is mainly due to the absence of a chemical reaction and therefore to the great reversibility of the mechanisms for storing electrical energy, a very slight degradation of performance even after several hundred thousands of cycles, energy available very quickly via a reversible process; unlike batteries 30 which are damaged if the charging speeds are too high, a wide range of permissible operating temperature (of the order of -40 ° C. to + 70 ° C. or even + 85 ° C.), non-sensitivity to vibrations, hermeticity of the envelope, storage densities of the power per unit mass of supercapacities which increase very rapidly with the current progress, notably from nanotechnologies, which make it possible to considerably increase the storage areas of the loads electric (ie several hundred m2 / g) and to reduce the distances between the electric charges (ie storage densities multiplied by 3 in 8 years, between 1998 and 2006, ...).
The object of the invention is therefore to implement such supercapacities in a field that was now foreign to them namely that of the electrical distribution on board an aircraft, to solve the technical problem highlighted above , thereby enabling the management of electrical energy on board an aircraft, in particular the management of transients on the electrical network during reconfigurations, for example on-board computers.
DISCLOSURE OF THE INVENTION The invention relates to an electrical distribution system on board an aircraft, for example an aircraft, comprising: at least one load (or user) capable of being powered by at least two electrical sources; 4 - switching means for switching the supply of said load on one of the electrical sources; characterized in that it comprises at least one set of supercapacities associated with said at least one load so as to maintain the power supply thereof for a duration at least equal to a predetermined duration, preferably 5 seconds, during the implementation of the switching means.
Such a system has the advantage of allowing switching between the sources in a manner that is transparent to the user. In different embodiments: supercapacities assemblies are respectively installed just upstream of certain loads, supercapacities assemblies are respectively used in addition to batteries, supercapacities assemblies are respectively used at the output of power capacitors. . The invention also relates to a method of electrical distribution on board an aircraft in a system comprising at least one load capable of being powered by at least two electrical sources, characterized in that during the switching of the power supply of said load on one of the electrical sources, the power supply is maintained for a period of time at least equal to a predetermined time by using at least one set of supercapacitors associated with said at least one load.
The system and the method of the invention thus make it possible to effectively manage the transients of electric current. The advantages of the system and of the method of the invention are as follows: simplification of the management of transients on the electrical network, simplification of the hardware (software and hardware associated), improvement of the robustness and BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS - Figure 1 illustrates the schematic representation of a supercapacity, - Figure 2 illustrates the electrical distribution system of the invention, - Figures 3 to 6 illustrate various embodiments of the system. These sets of supercapacities can be installed just upstream of certain loads (e.g. actuators, motors, fans, equipment, ...), used in addition to batteries, or output of power converters. To obtain the required voltage and power levels, these supercapacities can be associated respectively in series and / or parallel assemblies. The supercapacities sets can be installed on the power grid via either a centralized or decentralized architecture depending on the constraints of mass, available volume, propagation of failure, segregation of the systems to meet security requirements. They can be used in a shared manner, that is to say common to several users (or loads).

The standard solution to solve such a problem is to supply the equipment, during the time of reconfiguration or transfer of power, by batteries dedicated essentially to take into account this transient. But the use of such batteries requires precise control of their load and presents strong maintenance constraints (repackaging, ...).
The same function performed in this embodiment of the system of the invention by the sets of supercapacities 71 and 91 makes it possible to greatly reduce this control of the load and to increase the maintenance intervals by increased reliability (cost savings). .
