Abstract
The engine (10) has an exhaust circuit (20) including an exhaust duct (38) with an upstream section (42) connecting an exhaust manifold (36) to a turbine (22T) of a high pressure turbocharger (22). The duct has an intermediate section (44) connecting the turbine to a turbine (24T) of a low pressure turbocharger (24), and a downstream section (46) connecting the turbine (24T) to a depollution device (26). A main by-pass duct (144), which is parallel to the duct (38) and independent from the turbines, selectively circulates all or part of exhaust gas directly from the manifold to the device.
