INSERT ANTI SOUS-MARINAGE À DÉFORMATION PROGRESSIVE POUR UNE ASSISE DEPROGRESSIVE DEFORMATION ANTI-SUBMARING INSERT FOR A SEAT OF
The invention relates to the seats of a motor vehicle, and more specifically to the devices used in the seats of such seats to passively protect passengers against submarining during a substantially frontal collision with the vehicle. It is recalled that submarining consists of a depression of the passenger's pelvis in the seat cushion during its forward movement during a frontal impact which may cause bodily injury through the passage of the seat belt under the iliac criteria. In order to limit, and if possible prevent the phenomenon of submarining a passenger in case of shock, several solutions have been proposed. These solutions, which are described in particular in the documents FR 2795371, FR 2864483, US Pat. No. 6,520,541 and US Pat. No. 5,762,842, consist in inserting between the rigid support structure of the seat and the comfort foam (elastic) a viscoelastic interlayer foam or polyurethane having a significantly higher rigidity in case of shock than in the absence of shock. The shape of this intermediate foam varies from one solution to another. Thus, it may be in the form of a layer of approximately constant thickness and inclined at a variable angle with respect to the longitudinal direction (of the vehicle), the uppermost part being placed in a front part distant from the part back and supporting the passenger's pelvis. It may also be in the form of a layer having a curved shape in the front part and substantially flat in the rear part. These solutions have several disadvantages. Thus, the intermediate foam must have a relatively large thickness, typically 5 to 10 cm, to be effective and to have a certain rigidity. However, the size is generally limited, if one wants to integrate an intermediate foam in the seat must reduce the thickness of the comfort foam, which can affect the comfort of the passenger. Furthermore, the intermediate foam having a high rigidity at the time of the frontal impact, it is therefore not able to gradually absorb the energy induced in case of shock, which can cause damage in the basin region and at the of the spine. In addition, the intermediate foam is sensitive to punching in the case of a folding pillow modularity, it may be necessary to protect it directly or indirectlyûpar additional rigid structure which can be a stamped sheet welded to the vehicle body or sheet metal pressed or a rigid part forming part of the seat, which increases the number of parts to be assembled. In addition, the foam interlayer offers only few possibilities of packing. Profile finishing requires the addition of complementary plastic inserts in the interlayer foam and thus additional parts. The finishes achieved by the addition of a groove in the interlayer foam, not allowing to easily disassemble or reassemble a cap of a seat in after-sales service, without the risk of degrading the foam interlayers. The invention therefore aims to solve all or part of the aforementioned drawbacks.
It proposes for this purpose an insert, intended to be part of a seat of a motor vehicle seat, and constituting a rigid deformable structure comprising: upper and lower faces intended to be secured respectively to the comfort foam of the seated and at the floor (or 25 equivalent) of the motor vehicle, and at least in a front part (distant from a rear part intended to support the pelvis of a passenger), a curved area of anti-submarining in which are defined partitioning arranged to deform progressively when the passenger suddenly moves forward in a frontal impact of the vehicle, to gradually absorb the energy acquired by the passenger. The insert according to the invention may comprise other characteristics that may be taken separately or in combination, and in particular: the structure may be made of a plastic material; the partitions can also be defined in a central part of the structure which connects the front and rear parts; the partitions may be of alveolar type; s - the partitions can be made on the upper face and / or on the lower face; the structure may be of the monoblock type. In a variant, the convex zone may be an insert element at least on the front part; it may comprise fixing means designed to cooperate with complementary fixing means defined on the floor of the vehicle; it may comprise, at the periphery of the lower face, at least one peripheral groove intended to receive an end portion of an edge of a profiled element which is secured to the cap which is intended to surround (dress) the foam of comfort; It may comprise, in a chosen zone of the lower face, ribs whose shapes are chosen so as to define means of linkage for a chosen displacement of the seat (for example to modulate the storage space at inside the vehicle cabin). The invention also proposes a seat, for a motor vehicle seat, comprising a comfort foam secured to an insert of the type shown above. The invention also proposes a motor vehicle seat comprising a seat of the type of that presented above. Other features and advantages of the invention will be apparent from the following detailed description and the accompanying drawings, in which: - Figure 1 schematically illustrates, in a perspective view, an equipped seat of an exemplary embodiment of a seat comprising an insert according to the invention, - Figure 2 schematically illustrates, in a top view in perspective, an embodiment of insert according to the invention, - the FIG. 3 schematically illustrates, in a view from above in perspective, the materialization (in transparency) of the insert of FIG. 2 in a seat, FIG. 4 schematically illustrates, in a view from below in perspective, an embodiment of a seat comprising the insert of the s figure 2, - Figure 5 details a part of the fixing means defined in the insert illustrated in Figures 2 to 4, Figure 6 details a part of defined linkage ribs on the underside of the insert illustrated in Figure 4, and - Figure 7 schematically illustrates, in a sectional view in the YZ plane, a portion of a seat equipped with an insert of the type of 2 to 4. The accompanying drawings may not only serve to complete the invention, but also contribute to its definition, if any. The object of the invention is to make it possible, on the one hand, to avoid the submarining of a passenger seated in a motor vehicle seat and, on the other hand, the progressive absorption of a part of the energy acquired by the passenger during a frontal impact of the said motor vehicle. In what follows, it is considered by way of non-limiting example that the seat is a seat located in the rear (or central) of the passenger compartment of a motor vehicle. But, the invention is not limited to this type of seat. It concerns indeed any type of seat, including individual seats which are in particular located in the front part of the passenger compartment of a motor vehicle.
As is partially illustrated in FIG. 1, a seat SE comprises at least one seat AS and a backrest (possibly reclining) DS. The seat AS comprises a front portion PAV and a rear portion PAR, interconnected by a central portion (PC). The rear part PAR is intended to support the pelvis of a passenger PA (here a manikin), while the central parts (PC) and front PAV are intended to support part of the legs of the passenger PA. It will be understood that the words front and rear must be understood with respect to the implantation of the seat cushion AS in the vehicle, and more precisely with respect to the longitudinal axis of the latter, which is embodied in certain figures by the axis X of the reference (X, Y, Z) where Y materializes the transverse direction and Z the vertical direction (or altitude). The invention proposes that the seat SE of the seat SE comprises an insert IS secured to a comfort foam MC. According to the invention, the insert IS constitutes a deformable rigid structure that can be likened to a tub. This rigid structure is preferably made of plastic material, for example by injection into a suitable mold. As is illustrated in FIGS. 2 to 4, the insert (or structure) IS firstly comprises opposite top faces FS and bottom F1 and intended to be secured respectively to the comfort foam MC and the floor or to the crate (or any equivalent component) of the motor vehicle.
Due to its rigid nature, the insert IS can advantageously replace either a stamped sheet which is welded to the vehicle body and on which is usually attached the AS seat, either a stamped sheet or a rigid part which is usually part of the seat and which must be fixed on the vehicle body. It is now sufficient to form the seat AS, by fastening its insert IS to its comfort foam MC, then, as will be seen later with reference to FIG. 7, to dress the seat AS with a cap (CO). , to store it for attachment to the body (or floor) of the vehicle (after a possible coupling to a DS folder). Therefore, the invention reduces the number of parts to assemble.
En d'autres termes, l'insert IS assure ce qu l'homme de l'art appelle une résistance au poinçonnage en chargement .The rigid nature of the IS insert also makes it possible to limit its vertical extension (along the Z axis), that is to say its thickness, and therefore to use a rather thick comfort foam MC. The comfort foam MC can be defined in a workshop and then reported on the IS insert, for example by gluing. However, in a particularly advantageous variant, the insert IS may serve as a lid (or technical closing face) of the mold during the foaming operation (or molding) of the comfort foam MC. Thus, the comfort foam MC can be simultaneously defined and secured to the upper face FS of the insert IS. This also allows the foam to be closely penetrated into the CL partitions and thus to improve the mechanical attachment of the comfort foam to the IS insert. At least the front portion PAV of the insert (or structure) IS comprises a curved zone ZB anti-submarining in which CL partitions are defined which are arranged so as to deform progressively when the passenger moves abruptly towards the before a frontal impact of the vehicle, to gradually absorb the energy acquired by this passenger. As illustrated in Figures 1 to 3, the bulge of this convex zone ZB is intended to be oriented upwards, once the AS seat implanted in the vehicle. It will be noted that the profile of the convex zone ZB (in particular along the X and Z axes) can vary according to, in particular, the type of seat SE and / or the configuration of implantation of seat SE in the vehicle and / or type of comfort sought and / or deformations to bear. As illustrated in FIGS. 2, 3 and 5, the partitions CL are not necessarily defined in the only front portion PAV of the insert IS, on its convex zone ZB. They can indeed be also defined in the central part PC of the IS insert (and therefore extend those defined in the front part PAV), or even in a portion of the rear part PAR. Moreover, and as illustrated in FIGS. 2, 3 and 5, the partitions CL can be made on the upper face FS of the insert IS. However, they can also be made on the only lower face FI of the insert IS, or even both on the upper face FS and on the lower face FI of the insert IS. These CL partitions are for example of cellular type. By way of illustrative example, CL partitions similar to those used in or behind certain bumpers can be used to absorb shocks by structural deformation. It is also possible to use CL partitions similar to the fuse elements which are intended to deform accordion to control the progressive deformation of a box. In general, any type of partitioning can be used since it allows a gradual absorption of energy in case of shock. It will be noted that the insert (or structure) IS is preferably of monoblock type, that is to say formed of a single piece (including its curved zone ZB). But, in one variant, the convex zone ZB could be made separately from the rest of the insert IS, then secured (attached) to its front part PAV, as well as possibly to its central part PC (or even its rear part PAR ). The AS seat is intended to be fixed on the floor. Therefore, its insert IS may for example comprise attachment means MF for cooperating with complementary fastening means defined on the floor (or the body) of the vehicle in order to fasten the seat AS (removably) . As illustrated in FIGS. 2 to 5, the fixing means MF can be made in the rear part PAR of the insert IS, for example in the form of an OV opening subdivided in two parts by a bar or a fixing pin BF. This fixing bar BF is for example intended to serve as an anchor point to a hook which is mounted (for example rotated) on the floor of the vehicle. This hook can be engaged or disengaged from the fixing bar BF to allow the immobilization or displacement of the seat, possibly according to a kinematics chosen to allow modularity in the passenger compartment. The insert IS can be secured directly to the floor, it will be understood that in the event of a frontal impact, the passenger pelvis PA bears on the convex zone ZB without risking that it dissociates from said floor. In fact, in the event of a frontal impact, the passenger PA moves abruptly forward (along the X axis), and finds himself pressed against the convex zone ZB. The PA passenger basin then strongly crushes the first CL partitions of the convex zone ZB, then a little less the following ones, and less and less those which are placed even further, thus allowing the energy 30 to be progressively absorbed by deformation. acquired by the PA passenger. The anti-submarining function can thus be fully ensured by the IS insert thanks to the recovery of effort by the floor. As illustrated in FIGS. 4 and 6, in order to facilitate the aforementioned modularity, the insert IS may also comprise, in a selected zone of its lower face FI, ribs (or reliefs) NV whose shapes are chosen in such a way to advantageously define means of linkage. As is known to those skilled in the art, the latter NV are intended to cooperate with complementary linkage means defined on the floor (or the body) of the vehicle to allow the displacement of the seat AS according to a chosen kinematics, for example to modulate the storage space inside the passenger compartment of the vehicle. By way of example, the linkage means make it possible to tilt the seat AS between a position roughly parallel to the floor of the vehicle and a position approximately perpendicular to this floor. In this perpendicular position, the IS insert ensures the protection of the comfort foam for example against luggage or equipment located in the immediate vicinity. In other words, the IS insert ensures that one skilled in the art calls a punching load resistance.
On peut également envisager de définir plusieurs rainures périphériques RP sur la face inférieure FI.It should be noted that the smooth and rigid appearance of the lower face FI of the insert IS, when placed in the perpendicular position, avoids having to dress it with a cover to improve the finish. As illustrated in FIGS. 4 and 7, the insert IS may also comprise, at the periphery of its lower face FI, at least one peripheral groove (or chute or channel) RP. It will be noted that the peripheral groove RP may extend over the entire periphery of the lower face FI or on a selected part thereof. One can also consider defining several peripheral grooves RP on the lower face FI.
Each peripheral groove RP may receive an end portion of an edge BO of a profiled packing element EP (for example of flexible plastic) which comprises another edge secured (for example by sewing) to the cap CO which is intended for surround (dress) the MC comfort foam. In other words, the IS insert can also be used by those skilled in the art to call the CO cap overlay. It will be noted that the edge BO of the profiled packing element EP may for example be clipped inside the peripheral groove RP.
