Abstract
Description
-1- La présente invention concerne une pompe modulante à liquide,The present invention relates to a modulating liquid pump,
By way of example, the present text will refer to a modulating pump intended to be used with an oil burner. However, it is understood that the modulating pump according to the invention is not limited to this particular use. For a long time, oil burner manufacturers have been looking for ways to adapt the burner capacity to the actual heating needs as outdoor temperatures change. There are known burners that can operate at two powers, said low and high. Such a pump is disclosed in particular by the document EP 0 715 704. It comprises an internal gear pump which is connected to an atomization unit of the fuel oil by a pipe maintained at constant pressure by means of a pressure regulator and a valve device. three way. This device optionally connects the oil atomization unit to either the pressure side of the pump or the return side of the pump to create a modulated pressure. The valve device applies the constant pressure or modulated pressure to the atomizer unit which allows the burner to operate at two power levels. The pumps equipping these burners can not however be controlled in an intermediate mode, between the high power and the low power. Also known modulating burners for medium and large powers, for example from 1000 to 30 000 kW, the oil spraying pressure is adjusted continuously by action on a set screw of a pressure regulator. Document FR 2,241,746 describes such a burner. However, this type of regulation SUN001-EN-5 TEXTE REMOVAL BUCD - 2 - is not suitable, because of its cost and its size, to burners of low power. The object of the invention is to enable a continuous control of a modulating pump between a minimum pressure and a maximum pressure. By continuous control, it is meant that the outlet pressure of the liquid can be controlled at any set pressure between the minimum pressure and the maximum pressure.
The invention is based on the use of an electromagnetic pump arranged in a modulating pump and on an electrical control device for adjusting the piston stroke of this electromagnetic pump. The Applicant has indeed found that the pressure of the liquid output of the modulating pump is a virtually linear function of the voltage of the electrical control signal applied to the electromagnetic pump. The invention thus relates to a modulating liquid pump comprising an inlet port for receiving a liquid and an outlet port for dispensing said liquid, an electromagnetic pump disposed between the input port and the output port comprising a piston for pumping said liquid, means for regulating the pressure of the liquid, said modulating pump being characterized in that said regulating means is of the electric type and is able to regulate the stroke of said piston as a function of an electrical reference signal. Advantageously, the piston stroke is controlled by the voltage level of the desired electrical signal. According to a preferred embodiment, the regulating means is adapted to apply a modulated voltage signal to an excitation winding of the electromagnetic pump. SUN001-EN-5 REMOVAL TEXT 6UCD - 3 - In particular, the regulating means is designed to receive an AC voltage signal and may comprise a rectifying means for this signal, for example a diode bridge if it is desired straighten negative alternations or a diode if you simply want to remove the negative half-waves. According to a particular embodiment, the regulation means is adapted to receive an alternating electrical signal at a frequency of 50 Hz or 60 Hz.
Advantageously, the modulating pump comprises a liquid anti-backflow device between the input port and the output port. In particular, the backflow prevention device may comprise a suction valve arranged upstream of the electromagnetic pump and a discharge valve arranged downstream of the electromagnetic pump. According to a preferred embodiment, the modulating pump comprises additional pumping means arranged between the input port and the electromagnetic pump. This additional pumping means is advantageously of the gear pump type. Preferably, the modulating pump may comprise means for regulating the minimum pressure and / or the maximum pressure of the liquid. The invention will be better understood in the light of the following description, given by way of illustration and not limitation, with reference to the accompanying single drawing which schematically shows a modulating pump according to the invention for feeding an oil nozzle. . The modulating pump 2 comprises an input port 4 intended to be connected to a fuel tank 6 and an output port 8 intended to be connected to a nozzle 10. An electromagnetic pump 12 is disposed between the SUN001-FR-5 TEXT REMOVAL BUCD - 4 - Input port and output port. This electromagnetic pump 12 comprises, in a conventional manner, an excitation winding 14 which is intended to be powered by an electrical control signal, a cylindrical armature 16 connected to a pump piston 18 and a compression spring 20. The piston slides in a cylinder 22 which communicates with the suction by a suction valve 24 and with the discharge by a discharge valve 26.
The Applicant has found that when the supply voltage on the excitation winding 14 decreases, which leads to a reduction in the stroke of the piston 18, the pressure of the oil also decreases in the modulating pump, and this almost linearly .
More exactly, the supply voltage defines the stroke of the piston, and consequently the flow rate of the oil pumped by the piston and thus the pressure of the fuel oil at the output port 8. This supply voltage is a modulated voltage, for drive the piston in a back and forth motion. It is provided by a regulation means 28 which receives an electrical reference signal Vc. The setpoint signal is derived for example from an AC voltage signal from the electrical network at 50 Hz or 60 Hz and whose voltage is adjusted according to the desired fuel pressure. In the embodiment shown, the rectifying means 30 is a diode, which eliminates the negative half waves of the signal Vc. Negative alternations could also be straightened by means of a diode bridge. Finally, in some applications, it is possible to directly apply the AC signal to the excitation winding, if the frequency of the AC signal is chosen low enough to allow SUN001-FR-5 _TEXT REMOVAL BL / CD - 5 -au piston to perform its back-and-forth movement with the desired amplitude, despite its inertia. In some applications, the electromagnetic pump 12 may have insufficient suction capacity to allow only the correct operation of the modulating pump 2, especially when the fuel tank 6 is away from the modulating pump 2, for example when this distance is from several meters. In this case, the modulating pump 2 advantageously comprises an additional pump 28, such as for example a gear pump, which is arranged upstream of the electromagnetic pump and which is intended to supplement the low suction capacity of the electromagnetic pump. The modulating pump furthermore generally comprises a minimum pressure regulator 34 and a maximum pressure regulator 36 respectively upstream and downstream of the electromagnetic pump, these regulators being moreover connected to a delivery pipe 18 opening into the reservoir 6.
SUN001-FR-5 TEXTE DEPOSE BUCD It may further comprise on the discharge side of the electromagnetic pump 12, as shown, a pressure sensor 38, a hydropneumatic accumulator 40, for smoothing the pressure fluctuations due to the reciprocating movement of the piston, and a safety shut-off solenoid valve 42.
