Description

"Articulation élastique montée en liaison au sol dans un véhicule"Elastic joint mounted on the ground in a vehicle

automobile".automobile ".

The invention relates to an elastic hinge which is mounted in a motor vehicle being secured to a first piece in connection with the ground and a second part of the vehicle. In a motor vehicle, many elastic joints in connection with the ground are used. In general, these joints have the shape of a cylindrical sleeve mounted on an axis and are mounted integral with a first part in connection with the ground and a second part of the vehicle.

One of the end walls of such a joint is close to either the first piece in connection with the ground or the second piece, and is covered with a rubber collar. During operation of the vehicle, the flange can come into contact with the part of which it is located nearby, but when this contact is accompanied by friction, a source of noise becomes perceptible inside the passenger compartment of the vehicle . Several solutions have already been developed to overcome this problem. The contact interface can be greased but the operating time of such a system is limited by the rinsing with water in operation. It is also possible to coat the flange with a varnish whose friction does not cause noise, but the operating time of such a surface is limited by wear. Finally, lubricating components may be added in the rubber formulation, but such an addition causes changes in the properties of the rubber. The invention makes it possible to overcome the aforementioned drawbacks by proposing an elastic hinge whose intrinsic characteristics are not modified but for which contact with a part connected directly or indirectly with the ground does not cause audible noise in the passenger compartment of the vehicle and this, for an acceptable duration.

For this purpose, the invention relates to an elastic joint mounted in a motor vehicle being secured to a first piece in connection with the ground and a second part of the vehicle, which is essentially characterized in that the face of this joint which is likely to come into contact with one of these two parts during the operation of the vehicle, has been treated by flocking. Preferably, said hinge has the shape of a cylindrical sleeve, one of which is end-covered with a flange of elastomeric material whose face opposite the part against which the hinge is likely to come in contact, was treated by flocking. Advantageously, the collar is made of rubber.

According to an advantageous embodiment, the fibers being flocked are oriented substantially perpendicularly to the treated face. In this case, preferably, the flocked fibers are short and made of a material that is favorable to friction. In addition, the fibers may be polyamide or PTFE. The invention will be better understood, and other objects, features, details and advantages thereof will appear more clearly in the following explanatory description made with reference to the accompanying diagrammatic drawings given solely by way of illustrative example. an embodiment of the invention and in which: - Figure 1 is a perspective view of the articulation of the invention mounted in a hinge clevis, and - Figure 2 is a perspective view of the articulation of the invention of FIG.

With reference to these figures, the elastic articulation 1 of the invention has the shape of a cylindrical sleeve mounted around an axis 2 fixed transversely by each of its two ends 2a, 2b to two respective side walls 3a, 3a of a joint yoke 3 secured to the body of the motor vehicle not shown. The hinge 1 is also secured to the deformable rear axle of the vehicle by a link not shown in the figures.

One of the two ends 7a, 7b of this hinge 1 comprises a rubber collar 4 disposed near and opposite one of the 3a of the two side walls 3a, 3b of the hinge clevis 3. The face 5 of the collar 4 opposite the wall of the yoke 3a is treated by flocking short fibers of a length of the order of a millimeter and whose material will facilitate sliding, for example polyamide, PTFE or equivalent material. Such a treatment makes it possible to modify the nature of the contact surface so that it goes from smooth and homogeneous to chaotic and heterogeneous because of the presence of the fibers 6, air and the passage of air between these fibers. 6. This treatment makes it possible to reduce considerably the aeroacoustic sources resulting from the contact and the friction between the articulation clevis 3 and the collar 4 of the joint 1 without modifying the intrinsic properties of the rubber of the collar 4. Moreover, the Flocking method of this flange 4, also well known to those skilled in the art, will not require the use of fiber fixing adhesives 6 due to the presence of rubber. The articulating part of the invention has been described previously in the context of a connection between the body and the deformable rear axle of the vehicle but can also be applied to an elastic shock absorber articulation, to an elastic arm articulation and suspension wishbones, with an elastic articulation between an anti-roll bar and a suspension arm, and in particular Mac Pherson axles or any articulation that requires it.
