Abstract

The appliance has upper and lower panels articulated between them by a hinge (4) between open and closed positions and driven at a certain speed towards their open position by a torsion spring (9). A toothed wheel (22) is coupled to a shock absorber (21) during opening of the upper and lower panels in such a manner to reduce opening speed of the upper and lower panels.

Description

APPAREIL ELECTROMENAGER A PANNEAUX ARTICULES
La présente invention concerne un appareil électroménager comportant deux panneaux articulés entre eux, comme, par exemple, un gaufrier, un grille viande ou un grille croque-monsieur.
On connaît un appareil électroménager du type comportant deux panneaux articulés entre eux par une charnière entre une position ouverte et une position fermée et entraînés à une certaine vitesse vers leur position ouverte par un organe d'entraînement.
Toutefois, les appareils de ce type ont une ouverture relativement rapide et non contrôlée, ce qui créé un choc quand les panneaux arrivent dans leur position ouverte. Une solution proposée a été de diminuer la force du ressort, mais alors, vu le poids du panneau supérieur à pivoter, l'ouverture de l'appareil n'était plus parfaitement fiable.
La présente invention vise à réaliser un appareil électroménager dont l'ouverture est fiable sans que cette ouverture ne génère un choc important quand les panneaux arrivent à leur position ouverte.
Selon l'invention, l'appareil du type précité comprend un amortisseur et un élément complémentaire couplé à l'amortisseur pendant l'ouverture des panneaux de façon à diminuer leur vitesse d'ouverture.
Ainsi, grâce à cet amortisseur (et à l'élément complémentaire), la vitesse d'ouverture des panneaux est considérablement réduite, ce qui permet d'éviter un choc important quand les panneaux arrivent dans leur position ouverte. De plus, la présence de l'amortisseur permet aussi d'utiliser un organe d'entraînement (par exemple un ressort) particulièrement puissant pour fiabiliser l'ouverture de l'appareil.
D'autres avantages et particularités de la présente invention apparaîtront dans la description du mode de réalisation donné à titre d'exemple non limitatif et illustré par les dessins mis en annexe.
La figure 1 est une vue en perspective arrière éclatée d'un appareil électroménager conforme à la présente invention ; La figure 2 est une vue en perspective arrière de la charnière de l'appareil, les panneaux étant en position fermée ; La figure 3 est une vue semblable à la figure 2, les panneaux étant en position ouverte ; La figure 4 est une vue en perspective d'un amortisseur utilisé dans l'appareil électroménager ; et La figure 5 est une vue en coupe d'un amortisseur.
Comme on peut le voir à la figure 1, un appareil électroménager 1 (en l'occurrence un gaufrier) comporte un panneau supérieur 2 et un panneau inférieur 3.
Chaque panneau 2,3 forme un sous-ensemble de cuisson et comprend une coque formant le corps du sous-ensemble, une plaque de cuisson qui est portée par la coque et qui est adaptée à cuire un aliment, et un organe de chauffe (une résistance électrique) qui est disposée entre la coque et la plaque de chauffe et qui est adaptée à transmettre l'énergie thermique à la plaque de cuisson. De plus, dans le présent exemple, chaque panneau comprend un réflecteur thermique qui est disposé entre la résistance électrique et la coque de façon à réduire l'énergie thermique transmise à cette dernière.
Les deux panneaux 2,3 sont articulés entre eux par une charnière 4 entre une position fermée dans laquelle le panneau supérieur 2 recouvre le panneau inférieur 3, et une position ouverte dans laquelle la plaque de cuisson du panneau inférieur 3 est accessible de façon à pouvoir y placer l'aliment à cuire et à l'en retirer.
Dans le présent exemple, la charnière 4 est du type de celle décrite dans la demande de brevet FR 02 11 692 du 20 septembre 2002. Elle est formée d'une part par deux charnons latéraux 5 mâles, et, d'autre part, par un charnon central 6 femelle disposé entre les deux charnons latéraux 5 et recouvrant partiellement les deux charnons latéraux mâles 5. Comme on peut le voir à la figure 1, les charnons latéraux 5 sont portés par le panneau inférieur 3. Chaque charnon latéral 5 comprend un ergot 7 qui a la forme générale d'un cylindre, qui s'étend selon l'axe de la charnière 4, et qui est dirigé vers l'autre charnon latéral 5.Le charnon central 6 est formé, d'une part, par une première enveloppe 8 qui est portée par le panneau supérieur 2 et qui est adaptée à s'étendre entre les charnons latéraux 5 de façon à recouvrir les ergots 7, et, d'autre part, par une seconde enveloppe (non illustrée) qui est portée par un élément rapporté (non illustré) et qui est, elle aussi, adaptée à s'étendre entre les charnons latéraux 5 de façon à recouvrir les ergots 7. Cet élément rapporté est adapté à être fixé au panneau supérieur 2 de sorte que les deux enveloppes ainsi réunies forment le charnon central 6 emprisonnant les ergots 7 de façon à réaliser la charnière 4.
L'appareil électroménager comprend également un organe d'entraînement 9 (en l'occurrence un ressort de torsion 9) qui est adapté à entraîner les panneaux 2,3 vers leur position ouverte selon une certaine vitesse. Chaque extrémité du ressort 9 est solidarisé à un panneau 2,3 respectif.
Dans le présent exemple, un premier ergot 7a est prolongé par un doigt 10 qui s'étend selon la direction de l'axe de la charnière 4 et qui a la forme d'un cylindre dont le diamètre est inférieur à celui de l'ergot 7a. Le ressort de torsion 9 à spires est disposé autour du doigt 10 qui sert ainsi de support et de moyen de centrage du ressort 9 dans l'axe de la charnière 4.
L'appareil électroménager comprend également un amortisseur 21 et un élément complémentaire 22. L'élément complémentaire 22 est couplé à l'amortisseur 21 pendant l'ouverture des panneaux 2,3 de façon à diminuer leur vitesse. Il s'ensuit que le mouvement des panneaux 2,3 en fin de course est considérablement amorti, ce qui autorise l'utilisation d'un ressort 9 particulièrement puissant qui fiabilise l'ouverture des panneaux 2,3.
Dans le présent exemple, l'amortisseur 21 et l'élément complémentaire 22 sont logés dans la charnière 4, et plus précisément, à l'intérieur du cylindre creux défini par les deux enveloppes formant le charnon central 6.
L'amortisseur 21 est du type de celui décrit dans la demande FR 03 06 292 du 23 mai 2003 : Un tel amortisseur rotatif 21 comprend une base 23 et un élément rotatif 24 qui monté en rotation autour d'un axe 35 par rapport à la base 23 de façon à être soumis à des frottements pendant sa rotation (figure 5). Dans le présent exemple, l'amortisseur 21 est un amortisseur rotatif à graisse.
L'élément complémentaire 22 est formé par une roue dentée 22 qui coopère par engrènement avec le pignon 27 de l'amortisseur 21.
L'élément rotatif 24 de l'amortisseur rotatif 21 comprend un pignon 27 qui s'étend perpendiculairement à l'axe de rotation 35 de l'élément rotatif 24 et qui est centré sur cet axe 35.
Dans le présent exemple, la base 23 de l'amortisseur rotatif 21 comprend un logement 30 étanche contenant un fluide visqueux 31, par exemple, de la graisse. L'élément rotatif 24 comprend un disque 26 qui s'étend perpendiculairement à de rotation 35 de l'élément rotatif 24, qui est centré sur cet axe 35, et qui baigne dans le fluide visqueux 31. L'élément rotatif 24 comprend également un arbre central 25 s'étendant le long de l'axe de rotation 35 de l'élément rotatif 24, qui porte à une première extrémité axiale le disque 26, et à sa deuxième extrémité axiale, située hors du logement 30, le pignon 7. Un tel amortisseur rotatif 21 est connu sous le nom d'amortisseur rotatif à graisse, la rotation du disque 26 étant gênée par la viscosité de la graisse 31. L'avantage d'un tel amortisseur est qu'il ne génère aucun bruit.
Dans le présent exemple, la couronne dentée 22 est solidarisée au panneau inférieur 3 et l'amortisseur 21 est solidarisé au panneau supérieur 2. Comme on peut le voir à la figure 1, le deuxième ergot 7b (celui ne portant le doigt 10) est prolongé par la couronne dentée 22 qui est ainsi centrée axialement selon la direction de l'axe de la charnière 4. L'amortisseur 21 est fixé au panneau supérieur 2 de façon à être engrené avec la couronne dentée 22 quand la charnière 4 est réalisée.
De cette façon, lors de l'ouverture du panneau supérieur 2 sollicitée par le ressort 9, l'amortisseur 21 tourne autour de l'axe de la charnière 4, et, la couronne dentée 22 étant fixe, le pignon 27, engrené à cette couronne 22, tourne autour de l'axe de rotation 35. Du fait de la présence de la graisse 31 dans la base 23, la rotation du pignon 27 autour de l'axe 35 est ralentie, comme l'est celle du panneau supérieur 2 autour de l'axe de la charnière 4.
La couronne 22 est couplée à l'amortisseur 21 sur toute l'amplitude du mouvement d'ouverture du panneau supérieur 2.
Dans le présent exemple, comme l'organe d'entraînement 9 est un ressort de torsion 9, son couple est maximum quand les panneaux sont en position fermée, et il est minimal quand ils sont dans leur position ouverte. Ainsi, la détermination du ressort 9 et de l'amortisseur 21 se fait de telle sorte que la vitesse de rotation du panneau supérieur 2 quand il arrive dans sa position ouverte est faible pour éviter un choc, mais non nulle, ce qui garantit une ouverture de l'appareil électroménager.
Bien évidemment, la présente invention n'est pas limitée au mode de réalisation décrit en relation avec les figures.
Il serait ainsi possible, dans le but d'atteindre un rapport d'engrènement particulier, que le pignon de l'amortisseur à graisse ne soit pas engrené directement à la couronne dentée et que un ou plusieurs pignons intermédiaires soient utilisés.
Il serait ainsi possible d'utiliser, comme autre amortisseur, un amortisseur à friction. Un tel amortisseur est similaire à l'amortisseur à graisse, la différence étant que le disque frotte sur les parois cylindriques du logement, ce dernier n'étant pas nécessairement étanche.
ARTICULATED PANEL ELECTRICAL APPLIANCE
The present invention relates to an appliance with two panels hinged together, such as, for example, a waffle iron, a meat grill or croque-monsieur grill.
There is known a household appliance of the type comprising two panels hinged together by a hinge between an open position and a closed position and driven at a certain speed to their open position by a drive member.
However, devices of this type have a relatively fast and uncontrolled opening, which creates a shock when the panels arrive in their open position. One solution proposed was to reduce the spring force, but then, given the weight of the upper panel to rotate, the opening of the device was no longer perfectly reliable.
The present invention aims to achieve a household appliance whose opening is reliable without this opening generates a significant shock when the panels arrive in their open position.
According to the invention, the apparatus of the aforementioned type comprises a damper and a complementary element coupled to the damper during the opening of the panels so as to reduce their opening speed.
Thus, thanks to this damper (and the complementary element), the opening speed of the panels is considerably reduced, which avoids a significant shock when the panels arrive in their open position. In addition, the presence of the damper also allows to use a drive member (eg a spring) particularly powerful to make the opening of the device reliable.
Other advantages and features of the present invention will appear in the description of the embodiment given by way of non-limiting example and illustrated by the drawings attached.
Figure 1 is an exploded rear perspective view of an appliance according to the present invention; Figure 2 is a rear perspective view of the hinge of the apparatus, the panels being in the closed position; Figure 3 is a view similar to Figure 2, the panels being in the open position; Figure 4 is a perspective view of a damper used in the appliance; and Figure 5 is a sectional view of a damper.
As can be seen in Figure 1, a household appliance 1 (in this case a waffle iron) has an upper panel 2 and a lower panel 3.
Each panel 2,3 forms a cooking subset and comprises a shell forming the body of the subassembly, a cooking plate which is carried by the shell and which is adapted to cook a food, and a heating member (a electrical resistance) which is disposed between the shell and the heating plate and is adapted to transmit thermal energy to the cooking plate. In addition, in the present example, each panel comprises a thermal reflector which is disposed between the electrical resistance and the shell so as to reduce the thermal energy transmitted thereto.
The two panels 2,3 are hinged together by a hinge 4 between a closed position in which the upper panel 2 covers the bottom panel 3, and an open position in which the bottom panel 3 of the cooking plate is accessible so as to be able to place the food in it and take it out.
In the present example, the hinge 4 is of the type described in the patent application FR 02 11 692 of September 20, 2002. It is formed on the one hand by two male lateral knuckles 5, and on the other hand by a central female knuckle 6 disposed between the two lateral knuckles 5 and partially covering the two male lateral knuckles 5. As can be seen in FIG. 1, the lateral knuckles 5 are carried by the lower panel 3. Each lateral knuckle 5 comprises a pin 7 which has the general shape of a cylinder, which extends along the axis of the hinge 4, and which is directed towards the other lateral knuckle 5.The central knuckle 6 is formed, on the one hand, by a first envelope 8 which is carried by the upper panel 2 and which is adapted to extend between the lateral knuckles 5 so as to cover the lugs 7, and, on the other hand, by a second envelope (not shown) which is carried by an insert (not shown) and which is it, too, adapted to extend between the lateral knuckles 5 so as to cover the lugs 7. This insert is adapted to be fixed to the upper panel 2 so that the two envelopes thus joined together form the central knuckle 6 trapping the lugs 7 so as to make the hinge 4.
The appliance also comprises a drive member 9 (in this case a torsion spring 9) which is adapted to drive the panels 2,3 to their open position at a certain speed. Each end of the spring 9 is secured to a respective panel 2.3.
In the present example, a first lug 7a is extended by a finger 10 which extends in the direction of the axis of the hinge 4 and which has the shape of a cylinder whose diameter is smaller than that of the lug 7a. The torsion spring 9 with turns is arranged around the finger 10 which thus serves as a support and means for centering the spring 9 in the axis of the hinge 4.
The appliance also comprises a damper 21 and a complementary element 22. The complementary element 22 is coupled to the damper 21 during the opening of the panels 2,3 so as to reduce their speed. It follows that the movement of the panels 2.3 at the end of the stroke is considerably damped, which allows the use of a particularly powerful spring 9 which makes the opening of the panels 2,3 more reliable.
In the present example, the damper 21 and the complementary element 22 are housed in the hinge 4, and more specifically, inside the hollow cylinder defined by the two envelopes forming the central knuckle 6.
The damper 21 is of the type described in application FR 03 06 292 of May 23, 2003: Such a rotary damper 21 comprises a base 23 and a rotary element 24 which is rotatably mounted about an axis 35 with respect to the base 23 so as to be subjected to friction during its rotation (Figure 5). In the present example, the damper 21 is a rotary grease damper.
The complementary element 22 is formed by a toothed wheel 22 which meshes with the pinion 27 of the damper 21.
The rotary element 24 of the rotary damper 21 comprises a pinion 27 which extends perpendicular to the axis of rotation 35 of the rotary element 24 and which is centered on this axis 35.
In the present example, the base 23 of the rotary damper 21 comprises a sealed housing 30 containing a viscous fluid 31, for example, grease. The rotatable member 24 comprises a disc 26 which extends perpendicularly to rotation of the rotatable member 24, which is centered on this axis 35, and which is immersed in the viscous fluid 31. The rotary member 24 also comprises a central shaft 25 extending along the axis of rotation 35 of the rotary element 24, which carries at a first axial end the disc 26, and at its second axial end, located outside the housing 30, the pinion 7. Such a rotary damper 21 is known as a rotary grease damper, the rotation of the disc 26 being hampered by the viscosity of the grease 31. The advantage of such a damper is that it generates no noise.
In the present example, the ring gear 22 is secured to the lower panel 3 and the damper 21 is secured to the upper panel 2. As can be seen in Figure 1, the second lug 7b (the one bearing the finger 10) is extended by the ring gear 22 which is thus axially centered in the direction of the axis of the hinge 4. The damper 21 is fixed to the upper panel 2 so as to be engaged with the ring gear 22 when the hinge 4 is made.
In this way, when opening the upper panel 2 biased by the spring 9, the damper 21 rotates about the axis of the hinge 4, and, the ring gear 22 is fixed, the pinion 27, geared to this 22, rotates about the axis of rotation 35. Due to the presence of the grease 31 in the base 23, the rotation of the pinion 27 about the axis 35 is slowed, as is that of the upper panel 2 around the axis of the hinge 4.
The ring 22 is coupled to the damper 21 over the entire range of the opening movement of the top panel 2.
In the present example, since the driving member 9 is a torsion spring 9, its torque is maximum when the panels are in the closed position, and it is minimal when they are in their open position. Thus, the determination of the spring 9 and the damper 21 is such that the speed of rotation of the upper panel 2 when it arrives in its open position is low to avoid shock, but not zero, which guarantees an opening of the household appliance.
Of course, the present invention is not limited to the embodiment described in connection with the figures.
It would thus be possible, in order to achieve a particular meshing ratio, that the gear of the grease damper is not geared directly to the ring gear and that one or more intermediate gears are used.
It would thus be possible to use, as another damper, a friction damper. Such a damper is similar to the grease damper, the difference being that the disc rubs on the cylindrical walls of the housing, the latter is not necessarily waterproof.
