Abstract

The rod has a mounting (10) to be housed in a medullary cavity of a long bone, and an extra-medullary extension (11) to carry a stop clamp (2). The clamp has two arms (3, 4) locked on surfaces (20) of the rod. The surfaces are inclined with each other such that the locking of the arms on the rod provokes the sliding of each arm towards a base surface (18) and supports the arms against the base surface. An independent claim is also included for prosthesis for hip or shoulder joint.
