Abstract

There is a unit (4) for controlling the functioning of the IC engine (1) and the electric machine in order to provide the required torque to the wheels of the vehicle, connected to the monitoring unit (5) for monitoring the particulate filter for triggering a regeneration phase in it, during which this control unit determines the optimal regeneration torque to be delivered by the engine, calculating a differential torque value between the required torque and the optimal regeneration torque and piloting the engine at its optimal regeneration torque and the electric machine of the differential torque, in the alternator, for recharging the electric energy storage unit, in a manner to form the torque required by the wheels. The IC engine has a reversible electric machine (2) functioning either as a motor or alternator, connected to energy storing unit (3).
