Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a seed carrier harvester requiring drying before threshing. The harvest consists in picking the inflorescences of the seed carriers, to put them to dry under shelter before threshing. The seed carriers are sown or planted in a row in the field for seed production.
Harvesting is traditionally done by hand for a number of species, requiring a lot of manpower for a short time and limited by the optimal harvest stage which is fleeting. This workforce is difficult to recruit, expensive, cumbersome to implement. The present invention overcomes these drawbacks. It also allows better control of the site. The problem to be solved consists in cutting and guiding the inflorescences towards a handling system, without mechanical damage and with losses reduced to a minimum.
In operation, the harvester is hitched to the front of an agricultural tractor using a conventional "3-point" coupling device, which also allows it to be adjusted in height according to the state of the harvest during the 'advancement. The harvester can also be hitched to the rear of a tractor, in which case the tractor moves in reverse during harvest. The tractor advances the harvester in line with the rows and supplies the energy necessary for the movements of the organs. The inflorescences are picked under their base at the level of the stem by picking spouts, then transported laterally and then vertically by a conveyor belt towards a bucket or other container rolling under the high end of the conveyor belt, next to the harvester. Each picking beak collects a row using 2 belts, located in the same plane inclined downwards forwards, and laterally horizontal. Each belt moves from one side of the row to the other. The 2 belts come together during their backward movement straightening the rods vertically then pinching each rod between them by the relative arrangement of the pulleys which guide them. Pinching is ensured by a pressure which 2 belts exert against each other on their external faces on part of their movement by the relative arrangement of a set of at least 5 pulleys repelling belts alternately on one side, then on the other. The linear speed 2 belts is identical, and slightly higher than the forward speed of the harvester. The tension of the belts ensures the intensity of the pinching, and at the same time the effectiveness of the gripping of the rods. Once pinched between the 2 belts, each rod is guided back and slightly upwards by the belts on a fixed knife which cuts each rod. The backward and upward guidance induces the extension of each rod, retained at its base by its anchoring to the ground at root level. The extension of each rod aims to facilitate its cutting by the knife. The cutting angle, defined by the angle formed by the cutting edge of the knife and the direction of advance of the harvester, is adjustable. After sectioning the lower part of each plant passes under the harvester while each upper end of the stem with the inflorescence at its top continues to be guided by the belts until its release on the conveyor belt at the level of 2 rear pulleys, larger diameter and which return the belts forward. At the front 2 tensioning pulleys return the belts backwards for a new cycle. Rotary ducts are attached to the rear pulleys. Cylindrical, conical, frusto-conical or symmetrical in shape depending on the nature of the crop, the ducts avoid the lateral or forward fall of the cut stalks in order to bring them all back onto the conveyor belt. The rear pulleys drive the belts and are fixed either directly each on a hydraulic motor, or on a bevel gear receiving movement by means of a hydraulic motor and transmissions by CV joints. These transmissions are compact because to allow the proper functioning of the picking spouts, they must be housed longitudinally between the cutting point and the drop point of the rods, and in height between the conveyor belt and the belts. Any ginning occurring at the level of the gathering beaks is recovered by a plate fixed just above pulleys, between the rows, whose shape does not interfere with the evolution of the plants in the harvester. The seeds are collected manually at regular intervals before overflowing.

With reference to these drawings, FIG. 1 schematically represents an embodiment of the harvester, composed of the picking nozzles (31) 4 in number, and the conveyor belt (32). The inflorescences aligned in rows (30) are picked by the beaks, before being transported by the conveyor belt. The number of picking spouts can be different from 4, depending on the desired capacity of the harvester, the space constraints, and compatibility with the layout of the seed carriers.
Figure 2 shows the picking spouts viewed from above. The rods of the seed carriers aligned in rows (30) are channeled by the belts (33) and (34) whose adjustable linear speed is slightly greater than the forward speed of the harvester. The rods are cut by a knife located under the belts between the pulleys and (5). The lower part of the plant passes under the container while the inflorescences with their piece of stem are transported by the belts (33) and (34) to the level of the pulleys (6) and (7) where they fall on the conveyor belt.
Any ginning is collected on the plate (8).
Figure 3 shows the detail of belts and pulleys for a single picker. pulleys (6) and (7) are driven and rotate in opposite directions at the same rotation speed, to attract the stems inside the harvester through belts. belt tension is ensured by the front pulleys (1) and (2), free to rotate. pulleys (3), (4), (5) are free to rotate. The pulleys (3), (4), (5), (7) are arranged so that, from the pulley (4) to the pulley (7), the 2 belts are in contact with each other on their outer face. The identical rotation regime opposite direction of rotation of the pulleys (6) and (7) avoids friction between the 2 belts. This arrangement of the belts is intended to pinch the stem of each plant between 2 belts (33) and (34). The intensity of the toe-in depends on the tension of the belts. Each rod is driven backwards by the movement of the belts and is cut by the knife (9). After sectioning, the upper part of the stem with the inflorescence is taken by the belts (33) and (34) to the rear pulleys (7) and (6) where it falls on the conveyor belt (32), while the machine in its advance passes over the lower part of the plant which remains anchored to the ground.
The device may include an even or even greater number of guide pulleys of type (5) inserted between the pulleys (4) and (5) arranged according to the sequence defined by the pulleys (3), (4) and (5).
Figure 4 shows an embodiment and fixing the knife (9). It is fixed and beveled on its underside. The angle formed by its cutting edge the advancement axis of the rods at the sectioning point is adjustable. The knife can be fixed to the axis of the pulley (4), as shown in Figure 4. Figure 5 shows an embodiment of the knife in top view. Figures 6, 7, 8 and 9 show the different pulley arrangements (6) and (7) in rear view. The rear pulleys (6) and (7) can be mounted either on bevel gear (11) driven by a hydraulic motor (13) and transmissions by CV joints (12), or by directly on hydraulic motors hydraulically connected series (13) as shown in Figure 9. each pulley (6) and is fixed integrally a duct having a symmetry revolution, as an example a cone (101, 104) or a truncated cone (1 1 or cylindrical or other. of these channelers is to guide the inflorescences backwards in the direction of the conveyor belt, avoiding their lateral or forward fall. The above-defined form of channelers is determined by the plant species to be harvested, for optimal efficiency.
Les graines glissent vers l'avant du fait l'inclinaison des becs cueilleurs, et peuvent être récupérees manuellement à intervalles temps réguliers, avant débordement. embodiment of the ginning recovery tray (8) is represented in figure During the tremors undergone during the entry of the stems into the picking beak, seeds coming from mature flowers can fall. These are largely recovered by the plate (8), with raised edges. The seeds slide forward due to the inclination of the picking spouts, and can be collected manually at regular time intervals, before overflowing.
