Abstract

The lighting unit comprises a diode array (5) located within a base unit (3). A transparent barrel (7) is placed on top of the diode array with one of its extreme faces (7a) in close proximity. The barrel is topped with a mirror (10) that reflects the light back down the barrel but through a ground glass lens or prism array (9). Th barrel is secured to the base unit with a collar (6).
