Abstract

The shoe is made up of a conical metal component (1) with a ballistic role, and ejectable polymer wedges (3) or a core for the subcalibre round (2). The metal component is situated at the rear and the polymer wedges around the outside of the round or, in a variant of the design, the metal component is fitted inside a tubular round and a polymer core inside and behind it. The metal components made in the same way as a projectile insulated jacket - by stamping - with its weight, balance and characteristics determined by its thickness.
